The Nashville Tennessean suggests DT Karl Klug may be on the roster bubble in training camp.
A seven-sack revelation as a 2011 rookie, Klug managed 3.5 sacks in 2012 and earned just 22 percent of Tennessee's defensive snaps. Adding Sammie Lee Hill and Antonio Johnson this offseason, the Titans are trying to get bigger up front. At 6-foot-3, 275, Klug is the club's smallest interior defensive lineman. May 15 - 5:41 PM

Titans DT Karl Klug recorded his first sack of the season in Week 12.

Klug led the Titans with seven sacks as a rookie. His production and role are way down this year. Klug has managed just three tackles in 11 appearances this season, playing behind Jurell Casey, Sen'Derrick Marks, and rookie Mike Martin.

Fifth-round rookie DT Karl Klug leads the Titans with seven sacks this year.

The total is the most by a Titans or Oilers rookie defensive tackle since sacks became an official stat in 1982. Klug also has nine quarterback pressures and 29 tackles while playing primarily on passing downs. Klug has combined with OLB Akeem Ayers, DT Jurrell Casey, and MLB Colin McCarthy to give the Titans defense four major contributors from the 2011 draft class.

Titans fifth-round rookie Karl Klug is listed as a starter on the team's updated depth chart.

He also started the preseason opener, so the promotion seems to be for real. Initial expectations were that Klug would play end with the Titans, but he's been getting a ton of first-team reps inside. Despite his low draft status, it's worth noting that Klug was more productive than both Adrian Clayborn and Christian Ballard at Iowa last season in terms of sacks and tackles for loss.

Fifth-round DL Karl Klug is expected to be used as a defensive end in Tennessee.

He could also see some time as an inside rusher on third downs. Titans coaches compare Klug to Kyle Vanden Bosch for his athleticism and motor. "He's a nuisance," said Mike Munchak. "He's one of those guys that's an irritant for offensive linemen because he's going hard every play. You can't relax on him."

Titans selected Iowa DE Karl Klug with the No. 142 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Known as an intelligent football player and excellent tackler, Klug excelled at stopping the run at Iowa, where he earned all-Big 10 honors as a senior. However, at just 275 pounds, he's a bit under-sized by NFL interior lineman standards. If he can bulk up, he could turn himself into a nice rotational player along Tennessee's line.
