Titans signed QB Nate Enderle to a reserve/future contract.
Most famous for being Mike Martz's teacher's pet in Chicago, the 2011 fifth-round pick couldn't make the Jaguars out of camp last season. If Enderle's lucky, he'll push Rusty Smith for No. 3 duties in Tennessee, but he's unlikely to make it past first cuts. Jan 15 - 9:16 PM

Jaguars signed QB Nate Enderle.

Enderle was handpicked by Mike Martz as the Bears' fifth-rounder in 2011. He ended up falling behind Caleb Hanie and then Josh McCown before getting waived last week. In Jacksonville, Enderle will battle Jordan Palmer for the No. 3 gig behind Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne. The Jags have already hinted that they'll probably stash their third quarterback on the practice squad.

Bears waived QB Nate Enderle.

It's hardly a shocker. Hand-picked by QBs guru Mike Martz in the fifth round last year, Enderle failed to endear himself to the rest of the coaching staff. Although he possesses the requisite size and arm to succeed as an NFL backup, Enderle remains a project with average accuracy, no mobility, and spotty mechanics. Josh McCown should hold off Wisconsin-Whitewater's Matt Blanchard for the No. 3 QB job.

Bears 2011 fifth-round pick Nate Enderle is in danger of losing his roster spot after the club's signings of Jason Campbell and Josh McCown.

Enderle, handpicked in last year's draft by now-former offensive coordinator Mike Martz, is not nearly as highly regarded by the current Bears regime. A big-armed but immobile passer, he'll certainly have a hard time beating out McCown if the Bears make their roster decisions based on performance and not age.

Bears coach Lovie Smith confirmed Monday that fifth-round pick Nate Enderle's rookie season will end without an appearance.

They're going with Josh McCown in Week 17. "Nathan will have his time," said Smith. "He’s a good QB for the future, but that future isn’t now." Enderle was hand-picked by offensive coordinator Mike Martz, which somewhat clouds his future with the Bears. Martz is not expected back with Chicago in 2012.

The Bears increased rookie Nate Enderle's practice reps Monday based on performance in their preseason opener.

Enderle went 7-of-10 for 110 yards and an interception while incumbent backup Caleb Hanie finished 3-for-7 with 32 yards and a four-yard rushing TD. It's no secret that Hanie isn't a coaching staff favorite in Chicago, and it wouldn't be shocking if the Bears promoted Mike Martz's hand-picked rookie ahead of him. If we're the Dolphins, we're on the phone with Jerry Angelo right now.

Bears agreed to terms with No. 160 overall pick QB Nate Enderle on a four-year contract.

Per FOX Sports' Adam Caplan, the fifth-rounder should receive just under $2.2 million with a signing bonus of $170,000. Hand-picked by coordinator Mike Martz out of Idaho, Enderle boasts a strong arm and intelligence but needs work on accuracy. He's a developmental project as the No. 3 QB.

Offensive coordinator Mike Martz said No. 160 overall pick Nate Enderle was not drafted to be the third quarterback.

Martz is ready to throw Enderle into a full-blown competition with current backup Caleb Hanie. Considering Martz inherited Hanie and handpicked Enderle, we like the rookie's chances. Hanie is tentatively expected to be a restricted free agent that would require no draft-pick compensation as a former undrafted player.

Bears selected Idaho QB Nate Enderle with the No. 160 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Enderle has a solid arm, but very average accuracy and oftentimes poor mechanics. In other words, he doesn't have starter upside. However, he proved to be an excellent game manager at Idaho, and has NFL size at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds. Working with noted quarterbacks-guru Mike Martz, he should be able to improve his fundamentals enough to become a serviceable back-up.
