Evan Royster rushed twice for nine yards in Washington's Week 17 win over the Cowboys.
Alfred Morris' handcuff and Washington's usual third-down back, Royster will finish 2012 with just 23 rushes for 88 yards. He added 15 catches for 109 yards. With Morris now established as one of the league's top backs, Royster's Dynasty league value is hazy bordering on nonexistent. Mon, Dec 31, 2012 01:24:00 AM

Date:

Evan Royster (knee) is practicing in full this week.

Royster was limited in practice the past two weeks, but has yet to miss a game. He'll serve in his typical third-down role against the Vikings.

Evan Royster (knee, questionable) was limited in Redskins practice Friday.

Royster was listed as probable in Week 4 after going through the same week-long practice routine, so this is a downgrade. He still seems likely to be available behind Alfred Morris for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Redskins RB Evan Royster (knee) was limited again in Thursday's practice.

Royster is expected to be fine to back up Alfred Morris on Sunday versus the Falcons.

Evan Royster (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

The Redskins are just managing Royster's reps after he escaped Sunday's win without further injury. He'll be in line for third-down snaps against Atlanta, but off the fantasy radar behind workhorse Alfred Morris.

Evan Royster rushed two times for four yards and added three catches for 15 yards in the Redskins' Week 4 win over the Bucs.

With Alfred Morris earning all the early-down work, Royster was limited to third downs exclusively. Royster is ahead of Ryan Grant right now, but he's just a weak handcuff for Morris owners.

Evan Royster (knee) resumed practicing fully on Friday and is listed as probable for Week 4 against the Bucs.

Royster, trying to come back from a sprained patellar tendon, appears on track to play on third downs against Tampa Bay, taking that role from Roy Helu (I.R., turf toe). Royster is worth stashing as an RB5 in fantasy leagues.

Redskins RB Evan Royster (knee) was limited again in Thursday's practice.

If Royster is able to get through a week of practices, he should be ready to relieve Alfred Morris on passing downs against the Bucs on Sunday.

Evan Royster (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Royster admitted to being in "a little bit of pain," so it's unclear if he'll be ready to back up Alfred Morris against the Bucs. With Ryan Grant now in the picture, Royster's hold on Washington's No. 2 back job may be tenuous.
Wed, Sep 26, 2012 06:48:00 PM

Evan Royster has been diagnosed with a strained patellar tendon, and is day-to-day.

Royster has a shot at being ready for Sunday's tilt with the Bucs, but considering the opportunity this provides for Sha-nanigans, it would be unwise to assume he'll take the field. Royster's status will be updated Wednesday. Alfred Morris remains the only Redskins' running back worth starting in fantasy leagues for the time being.

Evan Royster left Sunday's Week 3 game against the Bengals in the fourth quarter with a knee sprain.

Royster was functioning as the passing-down back ahead of Roy Helu. He had two carries for 21 yards and two catches for 13 yards before leaving.

Redskins RB Evan Royster had one carry for four yards and two catches for seven yards in Sunday's loss to the Rams.

Splitting time with Roy Helu on third downs, Royster had just three touches compared to 16 for starter, Alfred Morris. While after this week it would appear that Royster has the edge over Helu as Morris' backup, we all know it's not that easy with Mike Shanahan. We will continue to keep a close eye on this situation for you.

Evan Royster rushed two times for 10 yards in Week 1.

Those two carries were the only snaps Royster was seen on the field today, and they occurred in the last minute of the first half. Royster is clearly behind Alfred Morris and Roy Helu in the running back pecking order. At this time, he can safely be dropped in most leagues.

Evan Royster admits he doesn't trust his depth-chart listing as the Redskins' No. 1 running back.

"I think they’re going to keep us pretty much in the dark until probably the day before the game," Royster said. And even that might be ambitious. Royster, Roy Helu, and Alfred Morris are all legitimate candidates to lead the Redskins in carries against the Saints. We'd pick Royster if forced to guess which back ends up with the most, but that could change as soon as tomorrow. The lack of clarity is unfortunate because we fully expect Washington to have rushing success at the Superdome, as long as the game is kept close.

The Redskins released a revised depth chart on Monday, and Evan Royster was listed as the No. 1 tailback.

The depth chart can be viewed at the link below. Royster is No. 1, with Roy Helu at No. 2 and rookie Alfred Morris third. Another notable change was Josh Morgan being promoted into the starting lineup over Leonard Hankerson at "Z" receiver. Dezmon Briscoe is the third-string Z, with Santana Moss behind Pierre Garcon at "X." History has told us Mike Shanahan's depth charts should always be taken with a grain of salt. We won't know anything for sure until game day.
