Ravens signed WR Aldrick Robinson to their practice squad.
Robinson, 26, was cut by the Redskins last weekend. The former sixth-round pick out of SMU is purely a deep threat at 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds. He has 30 career catches for 608 yards (20.3 YPR) and five touchdowns. Dec 10 - 10:53 AM

Redskins waived WR Aldrick Robinson.

The move opens up space on the roster for OLB Gabe Miller, who was added off the practice squad on Saturday. Robinson had one reception for six yards on 27 offensive snaps this season.

Aldrick Robinson is on the roster bubble heading into training camp.

Robinson has stuck with the Redskins since 2011 because of his ability to stretch defenses, but he's failed to develop into anything more than a streak runner. Now that DeSean Jackson and Andre Roberts have been added to the corps, his job is in jeopardy. Showing well as a gunner on special teams in camp will be a necessity.
Jul 14 - 9:44 AM

Redskins re-signed exclusive rights free agent WR Aldrick Robinson to a one-year, $570,000 contract.

Operating as a situational deep threat since being selected in round six of the 2011 draft, Robinson has totaled 29 catches for 602 yards (20.8 YPC) with five touchdowns the past two seasons. He'll try to earn a similar role behind Pierre Garcon and Leonard Hankerson in Jay Gruden's rotation-heavy offense. Robinson has big-play ability, but is unlikely to ever amount to a full-time wideout.

Aldrick Robinson caught three passes for 33 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Giants.

The Redskins tried to get a look at Robinson by giving him extended reps at the expense of Josh Morgan down the stretch. But the speedster managed just four catches for 47 yards over the last two weeks and 18-365-2 line. Robinson figures to be back to compete for situational deep threat duties in 2014 as an exclusive rights free agent. He'll be behind Pierre Garcon and Leonard Hankerson at the very least.

Aldrick Robinson caught just one pass for 14 yards in Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Cowboys.

With a big chance against a woeful secondary, Robinson came up short. The speedy deep threat saw just three targets, one of which saw him begging for a flag on the Redskins' final drive of the game. Robinson has some talent, but this coaching staff has never featured the No. 2 wideout and he hasn't made them start.

Aldrick Robinson caught four passes for 99 yards in Week 15 at Atlanta.

Robinson was targeted a season-high seven times. The coaching staff wanted to get a longer look at him with their season over. Robinson has a ton of deep speed. He entered the game with 219 yards receiving on the year. Robinson fell about two yards short of scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He's not a fantasy option, but Robinson will play heavy snaps the final two weeks.

Aldrick Robinson caught four passes for 67 yards in Washington's Week 14 loss to the Chiefs.

Robinson drew a season-high six targets. Robinson's targets and playing time have been mostly random this season. He won't be worth WR5 consideration for Week 15.

Aldrick Robinson was held without a catch in Week 13 against the Giants, but managed one run for nine yards.

Robinson was used strictly as a situational deep threat and only had two targets in the passing game. His role hasn't changed with Leonard Hankerson out for the season and he continues to play behind Josh Morgan in two-wide sets. Robinson has just six catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns through 12 games this season.

Aldrick Robinson was held without a catch in Week 12 against the 49ers.

Robinson saw three targets. Big plays were there to be made, but Robert Griffin III overthrew him deep on one occasion before under-throwing Robinson on another. Robinson is merely a deep threat and isn't on the fantasy radar.

Aldrick Robinson caught two passes for 60 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 11 loss at Philadelphia.

Robinson saw extended snaps at the Z receiver spot following Leonard Hankerson's knee injury. He responded by making a nice adjustment and fingertip catch on a 41-yard bomb to get the Skins on the board in the fourth quarter. We've seen Robinson make big plays like this before, but consistency has always been an issue. Even if Hankerson's injury proves serious, Robinson will be a desperation add only.

Aldrick Robinson was held without a catch on two targets in Washington's Week 8 loss to the Broncos.

So much for getting Robinson more involved in the offense. The situational deep threat has three grabs on the year.

Coach Mike Shanahan said the Redskins need to get Aldrick Robinson more snaps.

"We've got a lot of belief in Aldrick, and he does have some big-play capabilities," Shanahan said. "We need to get him in the ball game a little bit more." That's easier said than done. Robinson is Pierre Garcon's direct backup at X receiver. Garcon isn't going to be taken out of the game much. Robinson caught a 45-yard touchdown last week but remains a 12-18 snaps per game player.

Aldrick Robinson caught two passes for 75 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Bears.

Don't go chasing these numbers. Robinson caught a 45-yard touchdown when Robert Griffin III made an awful throw into double coverage and the Bears misjudged the ball. Robinson came into this game with one catch for 13 yards on the season.
Sun, Oct 20, 2013 05:14:00 PM

Redskins WR Aldrick Robinson failed to secure either of his two targets in Sunday's Week 3 loss to Detroit.

Robinson had a costly drop, failing to hold onto a perfect 57-yard pass from Robert Griffin III. RGIII laid it in perfectly to Robinson, who beat Rashean Mathis to the end zone midway through the fourth quarter. The score would have given Washington a 24-20 lead. Instead, it deflated the team. Robinson has just one catch for 13 yards through three games.
