Broncos signed LB Mike Mohamed and S Duke Ihenacho from the team's practice squad.

Mohamed takes the roster spot of suspended MLB Joe Mays, and Ihenacho is replacing Quinton Carter, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Saturday. Mohamed was a sixth-round pick by Denver in 2011. Ihenacho is an undrafted rookie out of San Jose State. Both should be limited to special teams if active on Sunday.

Broncos promoted LB Mike Mohamed from their practice squad.

Mohamed was Denver's sixth-round pick this year out of Cal. He was waived early in the season after making the 53-man roster after final cuts. An inside 'backer in college, Mohamed will try to upgrade the Broncos' special teams.

Mohamed played middle linebacker at Cal, but he'll have to excel on special teams to last long with Denver. Third-round pick Nate Irving is the future inside.

Broncos selected Cal LB Mike Mohamed with the No. 189 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

A three-year starter and Cal's leading tackler as a junior and senior, Mohamed struggles in coverage and is best suited as a two-down inside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme. The Broncos may envision Mohamed as developmental middle linebacker, but he'll likely start out as a reserve and special teamer.
