Free agent S Tyler Sash was arrested and charged with public intoxication and "interference with official acts" in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Saturday.
According to the New York Daily News, Sash took police on a "drunken scooter chase" that ended with him getting Tased. Sash was Tased after abandoning his scooter, hiding behind a tree and refusing to come out. Sash appeared in all 16 games for the Giants in 2011, but drew a four-game PED ban in 2012. He was waived/injured last August. His NFL career is likely over. Tue, May 13, 2014 09:31:00 PM

Giants waived/injured S Tyler Sash.

Sash's cause wasn't helped by a concussion suffered in New York's preseason finale. He played a lot of snaps in 2012 and could get interest on waivers.

Giants S Tyler Sash left Thursday night's preseason finale with a concussion.

The Giants have been bitten by the injury bug in the final exhibition. Andre Brown re-fractured his left leg, and backup TE Adrien Robinson left with a foot injury. Following Stevie Brown's season-ending ACL tear last week, Sash had been bumped up to the third safety in New York. Fifth-round rookie Cooper Taylor is now backing up starters Antrel Rolle and Ryan Mundy.

Giants S Tyler Sash left Monday night's game versus the Redskins with a hamstring injury and will not return.

Sash was injured in the early parts of the first half. As the fourth or fifth safety, his main contribution is on special teams.

Giants SS Tyler Sash was forced from New York's Week 10 game against the Bengals with an ankle injury, and will not return.

Sash was carted to the locker room. He's likely staring at a multi-week absence, at best. It's bad news for a team already missing Kenny Phillips. Will Hill, who opened the game on special teams, should be in for more time on defense.

Giants SS Tyler Sash has been activated from the reserve/suspended list.

He'll take the place of Will Hill, who's been suspended four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Sash was suspended the first four games for failing a test related to performance-enhancing drugs, and the Giants had a one-week exemption for him which they utilized before the Browns game. Sash may quickly emerge as a starter while SS Kenny Phillips (knee) heals.

Giants SS Tyler Sash is inactive for Week 5 against the Browns.

Sash was eligible to return, but will remain on roster exempt. The Giants have until Monday to announce a corresponding move. Stevie Brown will start at strong safety in place of Kenny Phillips, who is out with a knee injury.

The Giants don't plan to activate S Tyler Sash (suspension) in time for Sunday's game against the Browns.

Sash is eligible to return after serving a four-game suspension to start the season, but he may not be in football shape yet. With Kenny Phillips (knee) out, the Giants will likely turn to Stevie Brown at strong safety. Will Hill will be the lone safety reserve. New York has until 4PM ET on Saturday to activate Sash and have him for Week 5.

Giants S Tyler Sash's four-game suspension is over.

Sash's return is perfect timing after starting SS Kenny Phillips sprained an MCL against the Eagles Sunday night. If Sash is in shape, he could step right into the starting lineup against the Browns on Sunday.

NFL suspended Giants S Tyler Sash four games for violating the league's performance enhancing drugs policy.

Last year's sixth-rounder, Sash was expected to replace free agent Deon Grant as the No. 3 safety. He's eligible to play in exhibition games, but will sit out the first month of the season. GM Jerry Reese suggested earlier in the week that Grant could be brought back.

According to ESPN New York, Tyler Sash is the "leading candidate" to replace free agent Deon Grant as the Giants' No. 3 safety.

Primarily a special teamer as a rookie, Sash will compete with Stevie Brown and Chris Horton to be Kenny Phillips and Antrel Rolle's top backup. However, beat writer Ohm Youngmisuk believes the Giants haven't closed the door on re-signing Grant.

Giants S Tyler Sash (concussion) passed his baseline tests and returned to practice on Thursday.

Sash sustained the concussion late in last week's victory over the 49ers. It's his second career concussion, having suffered one at Iowa in college. With another week and a half before game time, the special teamer should be fine for the Super Bowl.

Giants rookie S Tyler Sash is expected to see significant playing time with Kenny Phillips (MCL sprain) ruled out this week.

Sash, a sixth-round pick, saw limited action in last week's game against Green Bay, but looks to be the preferred option to Deon Grant in pass coverage. After primarily playing on special teams this season, he'll matchup with Jason Witten and be spelled on obvious running downs.

Giants selected Iowa SS Tyler Sash with the No. 198 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

A favorite of NFL Network's Charles Davis, Sash gets knocked for below-average speed and poor measurables, but all he does is make plays. There's little question that the high-football IQ strong safety can help the Giants in run support, but he projects as a major liability in coverage. He'll start out as a special teamer.
