Bruce Miller rushed twice for four yards in the 49ers' Week 15 loss to the Seahawks, adding four catches for 56 yards.
Miller was actually the 49ers' leading receiver on a day where Colin Kaepernick predictably struggled to generate anything downfield. Miller was also pressed into heavier snaps as a runner, as the 49ers lost both Frank Gore (concussion) and Carlos Hyde (ankle) to injury. Miller will form a Week 16 committee with Alfonso Smith if neither Gore nor Hyde can go. Miller's receiving prowess would give him the edge over Smith as a potential RB3 against the Chargers. 49ers FB Bruce Miller (shoulder) is 100 percent.

Miller suffered a fractured left scapula last Week 15. An able pass catcher, Miller also returns as one of the league's better lead blockers. The 26-year-old fullback will be an eventual asset for second-round rookie Carlos Hyde.

49ers signed FB Bruce Miller to a three-year contract extension through 2017.

According to ESPN's Bill Williamson, the deal makes Miller one of the highest-paid fullbacks in the league. Miller was one of the league's best lead blockers in 2013, and also caught a career-high 25 passes. He's one of coach Jim Harbaugh's favorite players.

ESPN reports the 49ers have had "preliminary" extension talks with FB Bruce Miller.

One of the league's better lead blockers, Miller is going into the final year of his rookie contract. Also an able pass catcher, Miller is a favorite of coach Jim Harbaugh. Considering the vanishingly-little leverage held by any fullback, the sides should be able to come to an agreement.

49ers placed FB Bruce Miller on injured reserve with a fractured left scapula, ending his season.

Miller suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Bucs. He'll now miss the rest of the regular season and won't be available for the playoffs. Miller had graded out as a top-four fullback by Pro Football Focus, so it's a significant loss to the 49ers' running game. DL/FB Will Tukuafu has been re-signed to replace him on the active roster.

49ers FB Bruce Miller (shoulder blade) is expected to miss the remainder of the season and the playoffs.

Miller took a big hit from Bucs S Keith Tandy in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win after making a ten-yard catch. He isn't just some guy for the 49ers. Miller is one of the best lead blockers in the biz and is a contributor as a pass catcher. The 49ers may look at ex-Stanford FB Owen Marecic as a replacement.

49ers FB Bruce Miller suffered a potentially significant scapula injury in the Niners' Week 15 win over Tampa Bay.

Per coach Jim Harbaugh, Miller's injury "doesn't look good." The 49ers are expected to sign Owen Marecic off of their practice squad. In addition to being a surprisingly big part of San Francisco's passing game this season, Miller has graded out as a top-four lead blocker in Pro Football Focus' ratings.

49ers FB Bruce Miller has been cleared from his concussion.

Miller is expected to play against the Cardinals on Sunday, likely sending Moran Norris back to the inactive list. The Niners figure to have no trouble running the ball this week.

49ers FB Bruce Miller sustained a concussion in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.

Miller is going to have a hard time getting cleared on a short week. Veteran Moran Norris will likely be active against the Ravens on Thursday, with tight end Justin Peelle serving as insurance at lead blocker.

49ers FB Bruce Miller left Sunday's game against the Cardinals with a head injury and did not return.

Moran Norris was inactive, so the Niners were forced to use three-tight end sets in their power formations. Miller likely suffered a concussion.

49ers rookie FB Bruce Miller has been getting reps ahead of incumbent lead blocker Moran Norris.

Miller, a seventh-round pick who played defensive end at UCF, could push Norris off the roster. New coach Jim Harbaugh favors multiple-tight end sets over fullbacks, so Miller figures to have his biggest impact on special teams.

An MRI has revealed nerve damage in rookie FB Bruce Miller's shoulder.

Miller has had fluid drained from the shoulder, and says the injury isn't serious. As a seventh-round pick trying to make the conversion from defensive end to fullback, however, any injury could jeopardize his chances of making the 49ers' 53-man roster.

49ers signed seventh-round FB Bruce Miller to a four-year contract.

Miller was the talk of "rookie camp" -- really player-organized activities -- this offseason while making the transition from college defensive end to pro fullback. Miller should stand a solid chance of making the final, 53-man roster because he's so versatile. He will also be asked to play special teams.

49ers seventh-round pick Bruce Miller could see time at outside linebacker in addition to fullback this season.

A two-time Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year at Central Florida, Miller is being converted from defensive end to fullback by the Niners, but they apparently think he can still be an asset on defense. He's about as good a bet to make the 49ers' 53-man roster as a seventh-round pick could be.

The 49ers drafted seventh-round DE Bruce Miller with the idea of converting him to fullback.

Miller professed to being "shocked" at the news, but believes he can make the transition because of his physical playing style. The 6'1/245 Miller thinks the 49ers were the only team that had him on the board as a lead-blocker. Jim Harbaugh had success at Stanford with linebacker/fullback Owen Marecic, who was drafted by Cleveland.
