Seventh-round TE/FB Ryan Taylor is an "early favorite" to make the 53-man roster, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
Taylor's energy and willingness to throw his body around are making an impression at Packers camp. He's being used on the kick, punt and kick-return teams while also settling in as the No. 4 or 5 tight end. Taylor has the look of a glue guy. Fri, Aug 19, 2011 11:57:00 AM

Packers selected North Carolina TE/FB/LB Ryan Taylor with the No. 218 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

Taylor played fullback and H-back in UNC's pro-style offense, and in 2010 had 36 receptions with a 9.2 per-catch average. He also made nine tackles on defense as a linebacker. Ultimately, Taylor will settle in as a gung-ho special teamer in the pros. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound prospect was North Carolina's special teams captain in 2008 and 2010, and would've been in 2009 had he not missed all of that season with a knee injury.
