Rams signed LB Jabara Williams, WRs Nick Johnson and Raymond Radway, DE Mason Brodine, RB Chase Reynolds, TE Cameron Graham, OG Brandon Washington, and OT Ty Nsekhe to reserve/future contracts.
Williams was originally a seventh-round pick of the Rams in 2011 before making a brief stop with the Bears in between. Washington was a 2012 draft pick of the Eagles. Nsekhe was claimed off waivers from the Colts in September and appeared in two games with the Rams this season. All eight players will be fighting for roster spots in the offseason and training camp. Bears claimed LB Jabara Williams off waivers from the Rams.

The seventh-round pick was waived on Wednesday after being active just twice through St. Louis' first six games. If he gets on the field for the Bears, it should be on special teams.

Rams waived LB Jabara Williams.

It's bad when you can't stick on the league's No. 31 defense. Williams, a seventh-round pick this season, was active for two games this season as a special teamer.

The Rams project No. 228 overall pick Jabara Williams as a reserve weak-side linebacker and special teamer.

We use the term "reserve" weak-side 'backer lightly, though, because it's one of St. Louis' weak spots and will be an open competition in camp. Williams, a Defensive Player of the Year in D-IAA last year, ran 4.58 and 4.60 at 6-foot-2, 228 pounds during his April 4 Pro Day. He'll have to bulk up, but certainly has athleticism and was dominant as a small-schooler.

Rams selected Stephen F. Austin OLB Jabara Williams with the No. 228 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.

A four-year starter, three-year All-Conference selection, and the 2010 Southland Conference Player of the Year, Williams is fluid athlete and a highly productive run defender. There's some potential here as a weak-side linebacker in the Rams' 4-3 scheme if the 6'2" Williams can maintain speed while adding bulk to his 220-pound frame.
