Patriots signed DE Lawrence Guy, formerly of the Ravens, to a four-year, $13.4 million contract.
He can earn another $5.6 million via playing-time incentives. It's a nice addition for the Pats, who were looking for help up front after letting Chris Long and Jabaal Sheard walk. The former seventh-round pick was stout against the run last year, grading out as PFF's No. 10 run-defender out of 51 qualifiers at 3-4 defensive end. Guy, who turns 27 next week, was also pursued by the Redskins. Mar 11 - 2:30 PM

Free agent DE Lawrence Guy is visiting the Patriots on Friday.

The Redskins were also poking around Guy earlier this week but are probably out of the mix after signing both Terrell McClain and Stacy McGee on Thursday. Guy, 27 next week, appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens last season and was nails against the run. He seems like a perfect Patriots "do your job" addition.

The Washington Post's Master Tesfatsion reports the Redskins have expressed interest in free agent DE Lawrence Guy.

A key rotational piece for the Ravens' defensive line, Guy appeared in all 16 games last season and received very strong marks from Pro Football Focus for his run defense. The Redskins need help up front, especially against the run, and even more so if DE Chris Baker leaves as a free agent. Guy turns 27 next Friday and could be a nice get as a second-tier addition.

Ravens re-signed DE Lawrence Guy to a two-year contract.

Guy was drawing interest from the Jets, but will remain with Baltimore after playing his way into a rotational role last season. At 6-foot-4, 318, Guy will compete for snaps at five-technique defensive end.

Free agent DE Lawrence Guy is visiting the Jets on Thursday.

Guy played 262 snaps between the Chargers and Ravens last season. He'd just be a body for the Jets. He's a mediocre run stopper, and boasts no semblance of a pass rush.

Ravens signed DE Lawrence Guy.

It's a sign that Timmy Jernigan (knee) isn't close to returning. Guy appeared in 47 snaps over the Chargers' first three games prior to getting released on Monday. WR/KR Deonte Thompson was waived in a corresponding move.

Chargers waived DE Lawrence Guy.

It's a bit of a surprise, as Guy had played 47 snaps through the Chargers' first three games. The Bolts needed his roster spot to sign help at linebacker. Guy is still only 24. He could latch on elsewhere this season, or return to the Chargers.

Chargers claimed DE Lawrence Guy off waivers from the Colts.

DE Jarius Wynn was released in a corresponding roster move. Guy played 46 productive snaps for the Colts before being waived on Monday, even blocking a field goal in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. He'll be a reserve along the Chargers' thin defensive line.

Colts waived DE Lawrence Guy.

Signed on September 24, Guy ended up playing 46 snaps in two games, and grading out well in Pro Football Focus' ratings. It's possible he'll get a look on waivers, but his most likely destination is the Colts' practice squad.

Colts signed DE Lawrence Guy and OT Xavier Nixon.

Guy played in nine games for the Colts in 2012, finishing with 21 tackles. Bringing him back is a sign that Ricky Jean-Francois (groin) might not be ready for Week 4. Nixon is a prospect that was signed off the Redskins practice squad.

Colts signed DE Lawrence Guy off the Packers' practice squad.

Guy is a 2011 seventh-round pick out of Arizona State. He'll be depth for the Colts with Cory Redding (knee) banged up.

Packers placed DE Lawrence Guy (concussion) on injured reserve, ending his season.

A seventh-round pick, Guy was a disappointment at Arizona State after being a highly sought after recruit. He'll be facing long odds to make the Packers next year.

Packers selected Arizona State DE Lawrence Guy with the No. 233 overall pick in the draft.

Guy was a defensive tackle in Arizona State's 4-3, but he will play "five technique" end in Green Bay's 3-4. A former monster recruit out of high school, Guy was a surprise early entrant into the draft after managing just eight sacks in three seasons, including just 1.5 as a junior. The talent is there, so Packers DC Dom Capers has plenty to work with and coach up.
