Colts signed CB Mike Holmes from their practice squad.

Undrafted out of Syracuse, Holmes impressed Bears coaches in training camp. He will get a late-season audition as a special teamer and reserve with Jerraud Powers and Terrence Johnson done for the year.

Bears waived/injured CB Mike Holmes.

Holmes had reportedly "caught the attention" of Bears coaches, but apparently not enough to crack the roster as an undrafted free agent. Only 22 years old, Holmes' career is far from over.

Undrafted rookie free agent CB Mike Holmes has "caught the attention" of Bears coaches.

Holmes has been standing out on special teams in practice, and intercepted Bills' fourth-string QB Levi Brown in the fourth quarter of Chicago's preseason opener on Saturday. He's in good position to make the team.
