Seahawks re-signed WR Ricardo Lockette to a one-year, $660,000 contract.
Lockette was only targeted 15 times last season and could see even fewer looks now that Jimmy Graham has become the focal point of Seattle's passing game. Lockette famously botched his route on the Patriots' Super Bowl-clinching interception. Mar 12 - 9:41 AM

Seahawks declined to tender restricted free agent WRs Ricardo Lockette and Bryan Walters.

They didn't deem either worthy of the $1.5 million base salary that comes with the lowest possible RFA tender. Lockette and Walters could return on salaries closer to the league minimum. Lockette secured 3-of-5 targets for 59 yards in Seattle's Super Bowl 49 loss to the Patriots, but failed to run his route with enough aggressiveness on the game's final play. The result was an interception by Malcolm Butler, sealing Seattle's fate.

Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette secured 3-of-5 targets for 59 yards in Seattle's Super Bowl 49 loss to New England.

Sharing time with Chris Matthews behind Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse, Lockette made a clutch 23-yard catch with under ten seconds left in the second quarter to set up Matthews' game-tying touchdown. Lockette added a 25-yard grab deep down the middle late in the third quarter. Turning 29 in May, Lockette is an unrefined speedster with some special teams value. He is a restricted free agent and may not be tendered by the club.

Ricardo Lockette caught one pass for a 39-yard touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Broncos.

In the upset of the day, Lockette burned Aqib Talib for the score. It was the 10th catch of his three-year career. Lockette remains a No. 4 or 5 WR for the Seahawks.

Ricardo Lockette caught 2-of-3 targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in Seattle's Week 1 win over the Packers.

The touchdown was just the second of Lockette's career, while the catches were only his eighth and ninth. The score came on a "pop pass" option play from Russell Wilson, who faked a handoff before finding Lockette wide open for a 33-yard scamper. Lockette has big-play potential, but won't find any volume in Seattle's run-first offense. He's miles from fantasy relevance.

Seahawks promoted WR Ricardo Lockette from the practice squad.

Lockette takes the roster spot vacated by Sidney Rice (torn ACL, injured reserve). Lockette has some long speed but it's never translated to game action.

Bears signed WR Ricardo Lockette, RB Harvey Unga, QB Jerrod Johnson, and TE Fendi Onobun to the practice squad.

Lockette spent the summer with the 49ers before being cut ten days ago. He has some long speed, but it's never translated to games. Unga and Onobun were in training camp with the Bears before being part of final cuts.

Bears worked out free agent WR Ricardo Lockette.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are considering Lockette for a practice-squad spot. It would be unusual for the Bears to stash a 27 year old, but perhaps they're intrigued by Lockette's considerable speed.

49ers waived WR Ricardo Lockette.

Lockette's roster spot was needed for QB Seneca Wallace. We haven't had a blurb on Lockette since March when coach Jim Harbaugh said he was "fired up" about the 27-year-old receiver. Lockette is a straight-line speedster, but couldn't crack a 49ers receiving corps starving for talent.

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh is "fired up" about WR Ricardo Lockette.

Welcome to the offseason, where end-of-roster talents get talked up as potential breakout players. "There's just something about him that I'm really fired up about," Harbaugh said. "He's got something else to him, too, besides just the analytical size, strength, speed. There's something special there. I just feel it." Where there's one pump-up article, there's usually another, but it's very hard to see track athlete Lockette making an impact in 2013.

49ers signed WR Ricardo Lockette to a reserve/future contract.

Lockette spent 2012 on the practice squad after failing to make it past final cuts in Seattle. Although blessed with insane vertical speed, the former undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State has just two career catches and likely won't last long in 49ers camp.

Seahawks WR Ricardo Lockette has been held back by a leg injury since a strong training camp start.

Lockette has fallen far behind Golden Tate and Braylon Edwards in the battle for the starting split end job. At this point, he "appears to be just competing for a roster spot." The speedy former Fort Valley State star remains a raw speed merchant.

According to the Seattle Times, WR Ricardo Lockette has gotten off to a "very strong start" in Seahawks camp.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said in March Lockette was a player he saw a "big future in," and the local media may be starting to agree. However, WRs coach Kippy Brown cautions Lockette still has a long way to go. "(He's) making progress," Brown said Monday. "But we don't want to move him a lot because he performs better when we kind of keep him in one spot. But we could, and there will be times that we will."

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says WR Ricardo Lockette is "a guy we really see a big future in."

"He's got tremendous speed. ... He's got great skills," said Carroll. "He's 6-2 something and he's just learning the game. A very, very raw player but a guy that we really see a lot of great stuff." Undrafted a year ago, Lockette has a ton of competition for a roster spot, but should be able to latch on with a strong camp.

Seahawks declared WR Ricardo Lockette, QB Josh Portis, S Jeron Johnson, LB Adrian Moten, OL Mike Gibson, OL Paul Fanaika, and DE Pep Levingston inactive for Week 15 against the Bears.

The Seahawks are the healthiest they've been in quite a while, with Tarvaris Jackson's arm strength back and the receiver corps in good shape since losing Sidney Rice. Defensively, Seattle has stepped it up in recent weeks.
