Dontrelle Inman was held catch-less in the Bears' Week 14 win over the Bengals.
We didn't see him on the field much as Kendall Wright dominated the Bears' receiving workload. Inman can safely be dropped in 14- and 16-team leagues. Dec 10 - 4:23 PM

Date:

Dontrelle Inman caught 2-of-2 targets for 21 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' Week 13 loss to the 49ers.

Inman caught each of his two targets early in the first quarter -- including an eight-yard score -- and wasn't heard from thereafter. The Bears ran just 36 offensive plays, limiting their box-score production across the board. Inman will remain a low-floor WR4/flex option when the Bears visit Cincinnati next.
Dec 3 - 4:37 PM

Dontrelle Inman hauled in 4-of-9 targets for 64 yards in the Bears' Week 12 loss to the Eagles.

Continuing to work as the clear No. 1 receiver, Inman made one of the Bears’ few good plays of the first half, and he almost came down with a great catch down the sideline. This stat line is heavily padded by garbage time, but Inman is averaging four catches for 65 yards since taking over as Chicago's top receiver. That will put him in the WR4 conversation in good matchups, which he will have next week against the 49ers.
Nov 26 - 5:09 PM

Dontrelle Inman (groin) is active for Week 12 against the Eagles.

Dion Sims (illness), RG Kyle Long (ankle), OLB Pernell McPhee (knee), and DE Akiem Hicks (knee) are also active. After getting in a full practice Friday, Inman never looked in real doubt despite the questionable tag. He will continue to operate as Chicago's clear No. 1 receiver, but that does not qualify him as anything more than a WR4. Joshua Bellamy (concussion), S DeAndre Houston-Carson (ankle), DE Roy Robertson-Harris (hamstring), LB Danny Trevathan (calf), OL Tom Compton, DB Bryce Callahan, and Mark Sanchez are the Bears' inactives.

Dontrelle Inman (groin) is questionable for Week 12 against the Eagles.

He was a full participant at Friday's practice and should be ready to go Sunday in Philadelphia. Inman has led the Bears in receiving yards in each of his two games since arriving at the trade deadline. Still, he's just a boom-or-bust WR4 for fantasy purposes.
Nov 24 - 2:46 PM

Dontrelle Inman came down with three catches for 43 yards on five targets Sunday in the Bears’ Week 11 loss to the Lions.

Inman impressed with 88 yards in his Bears debut last week but didn’t have as much success Sunday against an underrated Lions secondary. He put Chicago in field goal range with a 15-yard pickup in the game’s final seconds, though Connor Barth would end up missing from 46 yards out as the Bears dropped their third straight. Inman will remain a dart-throw WR4 next week against the Eagles.
Nov 19 - 6:04 PM

Dontrelle Inman caught 6-of-8 targets for 88 yards in the Bears' Week 10 loss to the Packers.

Inman led the Bears in receiving and tied Kendall Wright for the team lead in targets. He also dropped a pass, but it's clear Inman is going to have a big role in this passing game going forward. Unfortunately, the Bears are one of the run-heaviest teams in football, and Inman is a just above-replacement-level talent. He will be a low-floor WR4/flex play in Week 11 against Detroit.
Nov 12 - 4:21 PM

Dontrelle Inman is inactive for Week 8 against the Saints.

Inman is a healthy scratch after getting traded for a seventh-round pick this week. Also inactive are QB Mark Sanchez, WR Markus Wheaton, DB Sherrick McManis, LB John Timu, C Hroniss Grasu, and DL Roy Robertson-Harris.
Oct 29 - 11:33 AM

Bears acquired WR Dontrelle Inman from the Chargers in exchange for a conditional 2018 seventh-round pick.

Inman has played just 39 snaps this season as the Bolts' No. 4/5 receiver. This was a trade that made complete sense for both sides; the Bears badly need receiver help, and the Chargers had no use for Inman in the final year of his contract. Inman has been productive when given opportunities in the past. Last season, he caught 58 balls for 810 yards and four scores. Inman has good size at 6'3/205 and has averaged 13.7 yards per catch. The 28-year-old should contribute immediately in an offense that has been starting Tanner Gentry and Tre McBride.

Dontrelle Inman (groin) is questionable for Week 2 against the Dolphins.

Inman is set to make his season debut on Sunday after putting in a full week of practice. In a crowded receiving corps featuring Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin, it's doubtful Inman will draw enough targets to warrant fantasy consideration.
Sep 15 - 3:44 PM

Chargers declared Mike Williams, Dontrelle Inman, Jerry Attaochu, Cardale Jones, Dexter McCoil, Sam Tevi and Sean McGrath inactive for Week 1 against the Broncos.

Inman popped up on the injury report on Thursday and was limited in practice. The Chargers signed Geremy Davis from their practice squad, so they were prepared for Inman not to be out there.
Sep 11 - 8:57 PM

Dontrelle Inman (groin) is questionable to play against the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

He was limited in practice on Thursday, so this isn't a major injury. Even with rookie Mike Williams (back) out for tonight, Inman is still behind Travis Benjamin for the third receiver spot, and they won't need him in the slot with Keenan Allen ready to roll. Even if healthy, there's a chance he won't be active.

Sep 11 - 1:26 PM

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Chargers have had trade discussions involving WR Dontrelle Inman.

They're not going to get much for him, but it is an indication they intend on Travis Benjamin playing a bigger 2017 role with Keenan Allen moving inside and outside and Tyrell Williams as the RAC/vertical threat on the perimeter. Inman is a trusty slot receiver who originally went undrafted out of Virginia and is signed only through 2017. He would fetch a late-round pick at best.
Aug 30 - 9:38 PM

Chargers WR Dontrelle Inman recently underwent core muscle surgery.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Inman will be out six weeks, a timeline which will keep him from participating during the rest of the offseason program but have him ready for training camp. Inman caught 58 passes for 810 yards and four touchdowns last season, but he projects as no better than No. 5 on the depth chart this year if everyone stays healthy.
May 20 - 9:02 AM

Chargers re-signed WR Dontrelle Inman to a one-year, $2.746 million contract.

It's his second-round restricted tender. Forced into an expanded role due to Keenan Allen's 2016 ACL tear, Inman responded with a career-best 58-810-4 (14.0 YPR) receiving line. While Inman's role is unlikely to be nearly as voluminous this season, he is a versatile wideout capable of playing all three receiver spots and should be assured of a top-four spot in the rotation.
