ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Raiders WR Andre Holmes will miss 3-4 weeks after fracturing his hand in Sunday's training camp practice.
Holmes was no higher than No. 4 on the depth chart after making no noise in training camp. He ran with the second-team offense in the Raiders' first preseason game, playing 18 snaps and catching his lone target for a three-yard touchdown. The 3-4 week timetable puts him in question for Week 1. The injury will allow Kenbrell Thompkins and Brice Butler more opportunities on offense. Aug 19 - 2:48 PM

Andre Holmes and Kenbrell Thompkins are competing for the Raiders' No. 4 receiver job.

Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, and Rod Streater were the Raiders' top-three receivers this spring and will head to camp atop the depth chart. Thompkins reportedly impressed at padless practices, while Holmes didn't generate much buzz. Holmes is a legitimate downfield threat, but Derek Carr didn't throw deep as a rookie and Holmes tumbled down the depth chart. It'd probably be best for Holmes to escape the Black Hole and get a fresh start elsewhere.

Andre Holmes has signed his $1.542 million restricted free agent tender.

This is normally a formality not even worth posting, but Holmes surprisingly got a low tender in March. It meant that any team could have signed him to a sheet and if the Raiders didn't match, they'd get no draft compensation. But Holmes didn't find any interest, so he'll be back as part of a rotation in the Raiders' weak receiving corps.

ESPN Browns reporter Jeremy Fowler believes Cleveland will be interested in restricted free agent WR Andre Holmes.

Holmes was given an original round tender by the Raiders. The low tender gives the Raiders the right to match any offer sheet Holmes receives, but does not give them any compensation if Holmes walks. The 6'4/210 Holmes would be a great addition for the Browns' smurf-ish wide receiver corps. The Browns pulled a similar stunt last offseason, signing Bengals RFA Andrew Hawkins to an offer sheet and prying him away from Cincinnati.

Raiders extended an original round tender to WR Andre Holmes.

Holmes would only be owed $1.542 million if he signs the tender, but Oakland would not be owed any compensation if Holmes signs with another team. It is a surprising move considering the level of interest the inconsistent but talented Holmes should generate. The soon-to-be 27-year-old posted a 47/693/4 line last season.

ESPN Raiders reporter Bill Williamson suggests restricted free agent Andre Holmes could garner interest from other teams.

NFL clubs very rarely lose their restricted free agents because of the way the system is structured. But the Raiders may want to tender Holmes at a level higher than normal as he's shown flashes of difference-making ability at 6'4/210. Over the last two seasons (26 games), Holmes has recorded 72-1,124-5 with a pair of 100-yard outings.

Andre Holmes caught two passes for 10 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss at Denver.

Holmes was a worthy waiver add following Rod Streater's early-season foot injury. The size/speed freak showed his natural ability with a 5-74-1 line in Week 4 and a 4-121-2 outburst in Week 6. But Holmes proved very inconsistent and inefficient, two things that you can't have when opportunities are already capped by the Raiders offense. When the dust settled, Holmes' big chance ended with 47-693-4. He'll head to free agency as a big-play threat flier.

Andre Holmes caught three passes for 73 yards in the Raiders' Week 16 win over the Bills.

He was targeted six times. Holmes' big grab was a 51-yard leaping catch on a 3rd-and-22. He jumped over the top of Corey Graham to haul in the pass. Earlier in the game, Holmes was targeted in the end zone. He got both hands on the ball but couldn't complete the catch. A big-play threat with little consistency, Holmes will wrap up the season against the Broncos in Week 17.

Andre Holmes caught 5-of-12 targets for 70 yards Week 15 against the Chiefs.

33 of Holmes' 70 yards came on the meaningless final drive of the game. Derek Carr is not playing well enough for Holmes to be a fantasy option right now. He is still a high-upside hold in Dynasty.

Andre Holmes (shoulder) remained limited on Thursday.

Holmes should be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but he's fallen from fantasy consideration. That's especially true against the Chiefs' stout pass defense.

Andre Holmes secured 2-of-5 targets for 38 yards in the Raiders' Week 14 win over the 49ers.

Holmes had a touchdown catch pulled from his grasp by a 49ers defensive back early in the fourth quarter. Mychal Rivera scored on the very next play. Holmes has regressed since a fast early-season hot run. He's a fantasy WR4 entering a Week 15 date with the Chiefs' top-ranked pass defense.

Andre Holmes secured 3-of-6 targets for 28 yards in the Raiders' Week 13 loss to the Rams.

The vertical element has disappeared from Oakland's offense, rendering Holmes a fantasy WR4. He needs garbage-time targets to pay fantasy dividends in a given week. Holmes won't be worth starting in Week 14 against San Francisco.

Andre Holmes caught 5-of-10 targets for 55 yards in Oakland's Week 10 win over the Chiefs.

The five catches were Holmes' most since Week 8. Altogether, it wasn't that great of a night for the fourth-year pro, who had a few miscommunications with Derek Carr. His biggest catch could have easily been a Chiefs interception, but DB Ron Parker mistimed his jump. Holmes will remain a crapshoot WR4/5 for Week 13 against the Rams.

Andre Holmes secured 2-of-6 targets for 19 yards in the Raiders' Week 11 loss to the Chargers.

Holmes' target totals the past four weeks are 7, 5, 1, and 6. With Oakland's offense now seemingly incapable of powering throws downfield, Holmes has disappeared from the fantasy WR3 radar. The Raiders will play their next game on Thursday night against Kansas City. Avoid Holmes in re-draft leagues.

Andre Holmes played on 40-of-63 snaps (63.4 percent) in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.

It's roughly the same percentage Holmes has been at for the last month, quelling some concerns that he had been passed up by Vincent Brown (24 snaps). James Jones led the way with 43 snaps, intriguing Brice Butler saw 34 and Denarius Moore got 23. So we can partially chalk Holmes' airball up to a brutal matchup against Chris Harris/Aqib Talib and partially blame it on a pass game that is suddenly spreading the wealth wide. The Week 11 matchup against the Chargers is good, but Holmes will carry risk as a WR3. Tight end Mychal Rivera seems to be Derek Carr's favorite garbage-time target right now.
