Andre Holmes has "consistently worked with the first-team offense" at Bills OTAs and minicamp.
Beat writer Joe Buscaglia only acknowledged Holmes is "positioning himself to be a contender for a roster spot," but it's not crazy to think Holmes could indeed win a starting job if he continues to play well. Zay Jones is a rookie out of East Carolina who suffered a knee injury shortly after being drafted, and the Bills whiffed on free agent Jeremy Maclin. Holmes has long been an intriguing physical specimen at 6-foot-4, 210 with 4.45 speed. Jun 13 - 5:42 PM

Bills coach Sean McDermott believes the team's No. 2 receiver is on the roster right now.

"Who that is remains to be seen," McDermott added. Considering how difficult it was to find someone other than Sammy Watkins to put this comment under, "who that is" is certainly a mystery. Buffalo did add Andre Holmes and Corey Brown in free agency, but neither is a real No. 2 on a quality offense. The Bills have to find more weapons for Tyrod Taylor in the draft.

Bills signed WR Andre Holmes a three-year, $6.5 million contract.

It's $2 million higher than the deal reported earlier this week. Holmes is coming off consecutive nondescript seasons as Oakland's No. 4 receiver behind Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, and Seth Roberts. He lands in a good spot with Buffalo as a veteran flyer. Holmes adds depth in a red-zone/deep threat role.
Mar 18 - 2:14 PM

The Bills have offered WR Andre Holmes a three-year, $4.5 million contract.

The deal was reported as done, but it's not official yet. Holmes should sign with Buffalo unless another team offers him more money. The Bills would be a nice landing spot with a wide open depth chart behind Sammy Watkins. Holmes is coming off a nondescript 2016, but he is a solid flyer on a cheap contract.
Mar 15 - 4:09 PM

Free agent WR Andre Holmes is scheduled to visit the Lions on Sunday.

Holmes reportedly has drawn interest from a number of teams, but this is his first known visit. Forced to re-sign with the Raiders on a one-year deal last offseason, Holmes is not going to break the bank coming off a 14-catch campaign. He would be a solid depth signing for the Lions, however.
Mar 11 - 10:24 AM

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the 49ers, Redskins, Lions, Jets, Bears, and Raiders are interested in free agent WR Andre Holmes.

Holmes was forced to re-sign with the Raiders on a one-year, $2-million contract last offseason, so it is difficult to believe teams are knocking down his door coming off a 14-catch season. Still, the 29-year-old (in June) does have some height-weight-speed upside and could prove something of a fantasy sleeper if he lands in the right spot.
Mar 6 - 6:56 PM

Andre Holmes caught 4-of-4 targets for 50 yards and one touchdown in the Raiders' Wild Card loss to the Texans.

He led the Raiders in catches and yards and scored their lone passing touchdown. Holmes didn't get into the game much until the fourth quarter when Michael Crabtree left with a concussion. His touchdown came with the Raiders trailing by 20. Holmes has big-play ability at 6'4/210 and will be a free agent in March after posting a meager 18-176-4 line in 2016. Holmes is a valued member of the Raiders but would be wise to look for an increased role in free agency at 29 years old.
Jan 7 - 8:48 PM

Raiders re-signed Andre Holmes to a one-year contract "worth up to" $3 million.

The deal includes $1 million fully guaranteed. It is an extremely disappointing outcome for Holmes, who played just 335 snaps on offense last season and is likely ticketed for a similar role behind Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree and Seth Roberts. Once a promising hold in Dynasty formats, Holmes has little value outside of the deepest formats.

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have "inquired" about free agent WR Andre Holmes.

He's also drawn some interest from Minnesota and Philadelphia. The Dolphins have an opening at wide receiver after losing Rishard Matthews to the Titans on Wednesday. Holmes would be no better than fourth on Miami's depth chart behind Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills. The 27-year-old reeled in just 14-of-33 targets for 201 yards and four touchdowns with Oakland last year.

ESPN's Adam Caplan reports the Eagles are interested in free agent WR Andre Holmes.

Caplan says the Eagles are looking for an "outside" receiver "with size." Holmes certainly fits the bill at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds. The Raiders are interested in re-signing Holmes, and the Vikings are reportedly "taking a look."

ESPN's Ben Goessling reports the Vikings are "taking a look" at Andre Holmes.

The Raiders are interested in re-signing Holmes, but he would be smart to look for a better opportunity elsewhere. With Mike Wallace gone, the Vikings need someone to step up across from Stefon Diggs. Holmes could be brought in to compete with Charles Johnson for that role. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Lions, Bengals and Eagles are also interested.

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports the Raiders are trying to re-sign free agent WR Andre Holmes.

Holmes would be wise to test the market and see if he can find more opportunity elsewhere with Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree locked atop the Raiders' receiver depth chart and Seth Roberts probably in the lead for No. 3 duties. Holmes (6'4/210) has great size and leaping ability, but hasn't been able to consistently put it together. The Hillsdale product turns 28 in June.

Andre Holmes was not targeted in the season finale.

Holmes finishes the season with 14 receptions for 201 yards and four scores. Retained on an original-round tender last offseason, Holmes will likely be leaving for greener pastures as an unrestricted free agent this spring. Holmes should get some interest as a rangy receiver with deep speed.

Andre Holmes hauled in one of two targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders' Week 10 loss to the Vikings.

Holmes was targeted in the end zone twice—once on his 34-yard touchdown reception and again in the fourth quarter on a pass that was intercepted by Terence Newman. His last three catches have all gone for touchdowns. Unfortunately they’ve been spread out over three games. Despite his five touchdowns, Holmes can't be trusted for fantasy purposes.

Andre Holmes caught 2-of-3 targets for 54 yards and two touchdowns Week 8 against the Raiders.

This performance was completely out of nowhere. Holmes had not recorded a catch since Week 3 and had not had more than one target since Week 2. His first touchdown was a nice touch pass from Derek Carr five-yards out, and he scored on a 49-yard bomb in the second quarter. In typical Holmes' fashion, his other target was a bad drop. Despite the big day, Holmes can be left on the wire.
