Andre Holmes turned seven targets into five receptions for 45 yards in the Raiders' Week 2 loss to the Texans.
Holmes did most of his damage in fourth-quarter garbage time, but it was good to at least see him involved after Holmes played only two snaps in the Raiders' opener. Oakland's ideal two-wide set would involve Holmes at "X" and James Jones at "Z," but at this point they're still mixing and matching. Jones is the only Raiders wideout worth owning in 12- and 14-team leagues. Sep 14 - 8:30 PM

Andre Holmes got zero first-team reps in Friday's preseason game against the Packers.

Holmes played behind James Jones, Rod Streater, Denarius Moore and Greg Little. He didn't get any snaps until Matt Schaub left the game in the third quarter and finished with two catches for 27 yards. Holmes opened camp with a ton of buzz as the size/speed specimen came off a flashy 2013 campaign, but this usage suggests he's regressed. He's no longer on our flier lists.

Andre Holmes came off the bench in the Raiders' second preseason game after starting the exhibition opener.

Holmes had a rough night in his reserve role, securing just 2-of-7 targets for 42 yards. He has the most big-play ability in Oakland's wideout corps, but may be utilized best as a situational deep threat. James Jones appears to have moved ahead of Holmes at X receiver, with Rod Streater at Z.
Aug 16 - 3:30 PM

Andre Holmes started Friday night's preseason opener against the Vikings.

Holmes was targeted twice in the passing game, but didn't have any catches. He played the entire first quarter, starting opposite Rod Streater in two-wide sets. As the X-receiver in an offense that projects to abandon the run in the second half of games, Holmes has major breakout appeal. Holmes had at least 58 yards receiving in four of Oakland's final five games last season.
Aug 8 - 11:09 PM

Andre Holmes has reportedly been Matt Schaub's "most consistent downfield threat since the team began practicing."

Holmes is a relative unknown because he played his college ball at D-2 Hillsdale, but the tape from last season was eye-opening. The size/speed freak has carried that momentum into camp, where he's getting plenty of first-team reps and was listed as a starter on the initial depth chart. Holmes is on our flier radar. "Sometimes you get these big receivers and they don't play big but Andre's one of those guys that not only does he have that physical stature but he plays to that stature," coach Dennis Allen said.
Aug 6 - 11:39 AM

Andre Holmes is listed as a first-team wide receiver on the Raiders' first depth chart of training camp.

Welp, maybe he isn't a "sleeper" anymore. 6-foot-4, 210 with 4.45-4.51 speed, 26-year-old Holmes is listed as the starting X opposite Rod Streater, with James Jones and Greg Little on the twos. Jones figures to crack the starting lineup eventually, but Holmes is getting the first look after averaging 17.2 YPR last season with 60-plus yards and/or a touchdown in four of the final five games. Holmes is worth a late flier in re-draft leagues and has Dynasty upside.
Aug 4 - 5:02 PM

Matt Schaub believes WR Andre Holmes is "a guy that can stretch the field for us."

Holmes, 26, is someone to monitor. He stands 6-foot-4, 210 with 4.45-4.51 speed and averaged 17.2 yards on 25 receptions last season. "He’s a long strider, a big guy who can stretch the field vertically and go up and get the football," described Schaub. With James Jones nursing injuries, Holmes ran with Oakland's first-team offense during OTAs, lining up across from Rod Streater. He looks to have passed Denarius Moore on the depth chart.
Jun 26 - 5:11 PM

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Andre Holmes "seems to be" passing Denarius Moore as the Raiders' No. 3 receiver.

James Jones and Rod Streater are 1 and 2. Holmes came on strong in the latter half of last season, wrapping up his second NFL campaign with 25 catches for 431 yards (17.2 YPR) and one touchdown. He was Oakland's best receiver over the final month. Moore is entering the final year of his rookie deal. The coaching staff has tired of his inconsistency. We wouldn't be surprised if Moore was traded this summer. Holmes, 26 years old and 6-foot-4, 210, is a deep re-draft sleeper and savvy Dynasty league hold.
Jun 13 - 9:53 AM

Andre Holmes had three catches for 38 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Broncos.

He was targeted eight times in the passing game. Holmes had been the Raiders' best receiver over the last four weeks, but took a step back with Terrelle Pryor at quarterback. He finishes his second NFL season with 25 catches, 431 yards, and one touchdown. Holmes will be back at a $645,000 salary in 2014.

Andre Holmes had five catches for 71 yards in Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Chargers.

Holmes led the Raiders in receiving and made some athletic catches again this week. He rotated with Denarius Moore in two-wide sets and finished with a team-high eight targets. Holmes dropped an easy touchdown in the end-zone late in the second quarter, but he was clearly Oakland's best receiver. He'll finish the season with a matchup against the Broncos in Week 17.
Sun, Dec 22, 2013 08:34:00 PM

Andre Holmes caught four passes for 58 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 15 loss to the Chiefs.

Holmes continues to open eyes with freakish plays on a weekly basis. This time, it was an insane one-handed catch that went for 28 yards on the sideline. He also added his first career NFL touchdown. Holmes will be very difficult to trust in Week 16 because he's rotating in with Denarius Moore, but the Dynasty appeal here is strong. Holmes, a former member of the Cowboys practice squad, has made more "wow" plays in the last month than Miles Austin has in three years.
Sun, Dec 15, 2013 07:48:00 PM

Andre Holmes had three catches for 63 yards in Sunday's Week 14 loss to the Jets.

Holmes took a step back after going off for nine catches and 168 yards last week. He was targeted seven times and had an impressive 40-yard catch in the second quarter. Holmes will be on the WR4 radar if Denarius Moore (shoulder) can't return in Week 15. His upside is limited by the Raiders' run-heavy offense.
Sun, Dec 8, 2013 05:42:00 PM

Coach Dennis Allen referred to Andre Holmes as "a guy, obviously, that we feel very comfortable with."

The Raiders have had no problems starting Holmes as Denarius Moore (shoulder) has missed the last two games. The second-year pro has totaled nine catches for 168 yards during that span, showing a strong rapport with fellow former backup Matt McGloin. In Week 14, the Raiders get to face a Jets secondary that's getting toasted over the top on a weekly basis. If Moore sits, the size/speed freak Holmes would be a WR4 with upside.
Mon, Dec 2, 2013 08:02:00 AM

Andre Holmes caught seven balls for 136 yards in the Raiders' Week 13 loss to the Cowboys.

Holmes has long been an impressive practice squad player at 6-foot-4, 210 with 4.45 wheels. On Thursday evening, he translated those tools and enhanced opportunity with Denarius Moore (shoulder) inactive into a monster game, leading every player on either side in receiving. Holmes is a 25-year-old Dynasty prospect with upside. In re-draft, he's only worth rostering in 16-team leagues.
Thu, Nov 28, 2013 09:16:00 PM

Andre Holmes caught two passes for 32 yards in Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Titans.

Holmes started in place of Denarius Moore (shoulder) and saw five targets. He was unable to turn his 6'4/210 into any big plays. Moore is questionable for the Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys.
