Coach Joe Philbin is "excited" about third-year OT Will Yeatman.
"We have a chance to really kind of sink our teeth in with him," Philbin said. "I think he might have some position flexibility. I think he’s athletic enough. He might be able to go to the right side. He might be able to go to the left side. He can move." A converted tight end, Yeatman stands a realistic shot at a roster spot because the Fins' zone scheme plays to his strengths. Mar 31 - 9:47 AM

The Palm Beach Post mentions Dolphins OT Will Yeatman as a player who could be a starter in 2013 should impending free agent LT Jake Long leave.

Yeatman, 25 in April, is a converted tight end with solid athleticism. Coach Joe Philbin was at the University of Iowa when they transformed tight ends Robert Gallery and Eric Steinbach into quality linemen. Yeatman has bulked up to 305 pounds and is working out in San Diego with offensive line guru Hudson Houck.

The Dolphins have moved TE Will Yeatman to offensive tackle.

The 24-year-old is a worthy prospect. Yeatman was already a viable blocking tight end, and at 6-foot-6 with athleticism could make for a nice long-term project in the Dolphins' zone-blocking scheme. He won't have to be 300 pounds.

Dolphins claimed TE Will Yeatman off waivers from the Patriots.

Coach Bill Belichick can't be happy about losing both Yeatman and Lee Smith on waivers. A former college lacrosse star, Yeatman is a work in progress with excellent size and athleticism. He's more of a blocking specialist at this stage, so Anthony Fasano's snaps won't be threatened.

Patriots waived TE Will Yeatman.

An undrafted free agent, it was thought Yeatman's roster spot was secure after New England released fellow rookie TE Lee Smith earlier in the day. Instead, the Pats will likely try to stash the bruising blocker on the practice squad.

Undrafted free agent TE Will Yeatman could beat out fifth-round pick TE Lee Smith to make the Patriots roster.

The two are competing to replace Alge Crumpler, who was essentially a glorified offensive lineman for the Pats last season. Yeatman played 20 snaps with the Patriots' first-team offense last evening, and "seemed to respond well" in the words of ESPN Boston's Mike Reiss.
