Lions signed CB Darrin Walls, formerly of the Jets.
Walls played just 120 snaps on defense last season for the Jets, but he was a contributor on special teams. He should fill a similar role in Detroit while providing depth at corner. Walls also has experience at safety. Mar 29 - 12:29 PM

The Jets are moving CB Darrin Walls to safety.

With Antonio Allen out for the season, the Jets are giving Walls free safety reps. Walls has played exclusively corner his first four seasons. Jaiquawn Jarrett is the No. 3 safety behind Marcus Gilchrist and Calvin Pryor.

Jets declared CB Darrin Walls (calf/knee) inactive for Sunday's Week 10 game against the Steelers.

The Jets are atrocious in terms of both personnel and execution in the secondary, setting up Big Ben to stay hot. On the other side of the ball, Geno Smith (shoulder) is active as Mike Vick's backup. The rest of the Jets' inactives: QB Matt Simms, DL T.J. Barnes, G Dakota Dozier, LB IK Enemkpali, OL Wesley Johnson and WR Walter Powell.

Jets CB Darrin Walls (calf/knee) has been downgraded to out for Week 9.

The Jets will start Josh Thomas or Phillip Adams opposite Antonio Allen, with Kyle Wilson in the slot. Walls should be considered week to week.

The Jets may start Darrin Walls and Antonio Allen at cornerback in Week 1.

Dee Milliner (high ankle sprain) seems doubtful to be ready to face the Raiders, while Kyle Wilson is a slot corner. Walls is a former undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame. Allen is a converted safety. The Jets should be hoping the Raiders start Matt Schaub, rather than impressive rookie Derek Carr.

Jets re-signed restricted free agent CB Darrin Walls to a two-year, $1.9 million contract.

Walls appeared in all 16 games last season, starting three at cornerback while rookie Dee Milliner was benched. In total, he played 292 defensive snaps and batted away four passes. Walls likely is coming back at the fourth-year veteran's minimum. We doubt he was tendered at the $1 million-plus level as an RFA.
