Bills signed CB Sterling Moore, formerly of the Bucs, to a one-year contract.
The ex-Cowboy started nine games in Tampa last season. He was workmanlike in the slot. Moore also has plenty of experience on the boundary, but the inside is where he will try to carve out a role in Buffalo. Apr 5 - 3:08 PM

Pewter Report expects the Bucs to move on from impending free agent CB Sterling Moore.

Moore became a surprise starter for midway through last season as the Bucs tried to shake up their secondary. He played well in the starting role and is only 26. If Tampa does decide to move on, Moore will find interest on the open market.

Bucs agreed to terms with CB Sterling Moore, formerly of the Cowboys, on a one-year contract.

Moore had also visited the Steelers and 49ers. Moore played both inside and out as a cornerback for the Cowboys last season, but also has experience at safety. He's best suited to the slot. Moore has a leg up on Leonard Johnson for No. 3 cornerback duties. He'll be on the field plenty in 2015.

Free agent CB Sterling Moore will visit the 49ers on Wednesday.

That's if he escapes his Tuesday Steelers visit without a contract. Moore turned in 752 largely solid snaps for the Cowboys last season.

Free agent CB Sterling Moore will visit the Steelers on Tuesday.

Given how horrendous the Steelers' corner play was last season (the secondary gave up the sixth-most passing yards in the NFL), it's surprising they haven't addressed it already. Plenty of big names came and went while the Steelers stood idly by. Moore is a competent backup, but he won't move the needle much. The secondary figures to be a focus during the draft.

Free agent CB Sterling Moore is visiting the Buccaneers.

Henry Melton mentioned this in his introductory press conference. Moore and Melton were teammates in Dallas. Moore started seven games for the Cowboys last season, finishing the year with 46 tackles and two fumble recoveries. He'd fit in as a nickelback or a backup corner in Tampa Bay.

The Cowboys will not tender CB Sterling Moore, making him an unrestricted free agent.

He was a restricted free agent. Moore can play perimeter corner, slot corner, and even some safety, but does none of those things at a starting-caliber level. Still, he will draw interest due to his youth (25 years old) and versatility.

Cowboys re-signed CB Sterling Moore.

TE Andre Smith was waived in a corresponding roster move. With Morris Claiborne (hamstring) ruled out for Thursday's game against the Raiders, Moore provides an extra body at the back end of Dallas' secondary. He was waived at final cuts.

Cowboys waived CB Sterling Moore.

The Cowboys are rolling with four corners on the 53-man roster for now. Moore appeared in 13 games between the Cowboys and Patriots in 2012.

Cowboys CB Sterling Moore had surgery on his left knee, but is expected to be ready for the start of OTAs.

Moore appeared in 13 games this past season, eight with the Patriots and five with the Cowboys. He recorded 22 tackles and two passes defended while playing limited snaps on defense. Moore can play both safety and corner.

Cowboys signed CB Sterling Moore off the Patriots' practice squad.

Last year's Patriots playoff hero for breaking up a would-be Lee Evans TD in the AFC Championship Game, Moore was a scapegoat for New England's early-season pass defense woes. He's versatile enough to play three defensive back spots.

Patriots waived DB Sterling Moore.

The Pats' nickel back, Moore's the first scapegoat for New England's abysmal pass defense even though he's graded out neutrally in Pro Football Focus' coverage ratings. A hero in last year's playoffs, Moore may not slip through waivers unclaimed.

ESPN Boston gives CB Sterling Moore an 80 percent chance of making the Patriots' 53-man roster.

Moore went undrafted last season, but made a name for himself with a strong postseason for a Patriots team with an injury-plagued secondary. Working as the team's fourth corner during offseason practices, Moore has a strong shot at beating out Will Allen and Alfonzo Dennard.

Waived by the Patriots in mid-December, Sterling Moore has been playing opposite Kyle Arrington when Devin McCourty flips to safety.

Moore not only knocked the potential game-winner out of Lee Evans' hands last week, he also came up with a huge third-down pass breakup to Dennis Pitta. NFL Films analyst Greg Cosell doubts Bill Belichick will risk Julian Edelman in coverage on explosive slot receiver Victor Cruz, so Moore should continue to have a major role in the Super Bowl.

Patriots waived CB Sterling Moore.

Moore surprisingly played all 73 of New England's defensive snaps in Week 10 against the Jets despite being signed off the practice squad just four days earlier, and was used heavily in Weeks 11 and 12. He was de-emphasized against the Colts, however, and will be replaced by fellow rookie Malcolm Williams. So it goes in New England's secondary.
