Free agent Terrell Owens reiterated his desire to play for the Patriots.
"I think that’s a no-brainer," Owens said. "You look at what they’ve done over the years. Under the tutelage of Tom [Brady] and Coach Belichick, I think the sky would be the limit in terms of what I’d be able to do. Considering my body of work and my history of playing the game." The interest isn't mutual. The Patriots are ready to move on with rookies Aaron Dobson and Josh Boyce competing at "X" receiver, while Danny Amendola occupies the "Z" position. May 5 - 8:36 PM

Free agent Terrell Owens told CSN Chicago that he wants to make his comeback with the Bears.

New Bears coach Marc Trestman was San Francisco's offensive coordinator when T.O. broke into the league with the 49ers in 1996. "I played my first early years in San Francisco with [Trestman] and shortly after that, he left to do some things," said Owens, who is now 39. "To think about [Brandon Marshall] on the other side and me on one side, that's really dangerous. I'm keeping myself in shape just for any opportunity that may come about."

The Boston Herald confirms there is "nothing brewing" between the Patriots and free agent Terrell Owens.

As we suspected. Owens, 39, reportedly "has been in discussion" with teams this offseason, but that sounds more like agent speak than anything. It would be a surprise if T.O. found his way into an NFL uniform again.

Free agent Terrell Owens worked out with Tom Brady at USC on Wednesday.

Owens is desperately trying to reenter the NFL and the Patriots need wideout help, but this is not a sign that it's going to happen. T.O. turns 40 in December and hasn't been heard from since a three-week stint with Seattle in last year's training camp. Owens hasn't played in a regular season game since 2010.

The New York Daily News, Newsday and ESPN New York all report the Jets have "no interest" in signing free agent Terrell Owens.

There's a "better chance they bring back Don Maynard," quipped Daily News columnist Gary Myers. Owens took to Twitter to beg the Jets for a job during Monday night's game. The story sprouted legs when coach Rex Ryan refused to rule out any option during Tuesday's press conference. This report confirms T.O. to the Jets is not going to happen.

Coach Rex Ryan didn't completely rule out signing free agent WR Terrell Owens during a Tuesday press conference.

Owens made an open plea to the Jets via Twitter during Monday night's loss to the Texans. "Hey JETS!!! I'm available! I'm ready, willing & able! Call my agent [Jordan Woy] & let's make it happen," Owens tweeted. The Jets are down to three healthy wideouts right now, but Ryan seems content. "You never say never to anything," he said. "You look at your situation. I would assume we'd go with the same crew." The Jets previously brought in the likes of Jason Hill and Clyde Gates instead of giving T.O. a look.

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie confirmed his team has no interest in veteran free agents Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson and Plaxico Burress.

"It's not just (their) age," McKenzie said. "If the right player could add to the group ... we just didn't feel that those three were the right ones. Clear and simple. If I felt like they could have added something to what we were doing, I would have strongly considered it."

The Jets are not interested in free agent WR Terrell Owens, according to the Daily News.

The Jets are desperate for playmakers on offense and are known to take risks with high-profile players. But even Rex Ryan and friends don't want any part of a 38-year-old Owens. His on-field production is just no longer worth it.

Seahawks released WR Terrell Owens.

Owens showed that he's over his 2011 ACL injury and can still fly down the football field, defeating coverage, but he dropped too many key balls in preseason games and simply didn't win a spot on Seattle's 53-man roster. The Seahawks are actually doing T.O. a favor by releasing him now. Although the odds seem long, Owens still has a chance to crack a Week 1 roster and get his full 2012 base salary guaranteed. He needs to find a taker first.

Terrell Owens caught two passes for 41 yards in the Seahawks' third preseason game Friday night against K.C.

Owens caught a 40-yard bullet from rookie quarterback Russell Wilson, but also dropped a would-be long completion for the second consecutive week. T.O. needed to catch those passes to lock up a roster spot. As is, the Seahawks will have a difficult decision to make. Owens can still run with the best of them, but he's got a lot of rust to shake off. He's on the bubble, for sure.

Terrell Owens "still appears to be the same T.O. who complains when things are not going his way," according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

This is the first we've heard of a potential attitude problem this year, but he did have trouble communicating with Matt Flynn on five targets last week. Beat writer Eric Williams believes coach Pete Carroll won't put up with T.O.'s attitude "as a fifth or sixth receiver," and the 38-year-old "has a lot to overcome." Braylon Edwards is beginning to look like a better fantasy flier than Owens.

Team sources tell CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora that Terrell Owens is "hardly assured" of making the Seahawks' roster.

T.O. was the intended target on five of Matt Flynn's seven incompletions Saturday night, including a drop on a perfectly thrown 46-yard bomb in the end zone. At least two other incompletions were the result of miscommunication, which coach Pete Carroll considers "most understandable" due "just two weeks of practice." Carroll suggested Owens has been "very much on point" and has caught a lot of deep balls in camp. "I know that he can make those plays for us," said Carroll, "and it's unfortunate we didn't get it right off the bat." The head coach certainly seems to be in T.O.'s corner with two preseason games remaining.

Terrell Owens will make his Seahawks debut Saturday night in Denver.

"I didn't think it was fair for a guy to come in and play after one week, especially after sitting out a whole year," coach Pete Carroll said, explaining T.O.'s absence last week. "He feels great, he wants to play and I see that he looks very competitive on the field, he didn't fatigue at all in any of the days, so he's ready to go."

Matt Flynn complemented Terrell Owens' "smoothness" after watching him on the practice field so far in training camp.

In other words, there's no hitch in Owens' step as he comes back from major 2011 knee surgery. "He’s very smooth," said Flynn. "... He’s obviously a physical specimen. Big guy, big hands, big strong hands. And he got out there the first day and ran some some routes that aren’t easy to just get out there and run your first day and haven’t run them in a while. Ran them smoothly. I could read him out of his break, so it was good."

Profootballtalk reports Terrell Owens received no signing bonus from the Seahawks and no portion of his $925,000 salary is guaranteed.

Braylon Edwards, on the other hand, received $270,000 in guarantees despite a contract under the minimum-salary benefit program. If the Seahawks opt to cut T.O., he won't collect a dime. As long as Owens keeps his mouth shut and contributes on the field, the contract should be a non-issue. Those are big "ifs."
