Chiefs RB Shaun Draughn is missing OTAs due to a sports hernia.
There's no word on whether Draughn underwent surgery. A third-year UDFA out of North Carolina, Draughn was serviceable in the Jamaal Charles backup role last season, but will be guaranteed nothing under the new Kansas City regime. He can't afford to miss much time after Knile Davis was drafted in the third round. May 15 - 6:33 PM

Shaun Draughn rushed 11 times for just 11 yards and added three receptions for 12 yards versus the Bucs in Week 6.

Jamaal Charles wasn't alone in finding the sledding tough versus the Bucs' fourth-ranked run defense. Draughn nearly matched Charles' 14 touches, but he's likely headed back to the bench in favor of Peyton Hillis after the Week 7 bye.

Shaun Draughn (ankle) was upgraded to full participation in Friday's practice, and is officially probable for Week 6.

With Peyton Hillis again sidelined, Draughn is ready to back-up Jamaal Charles. Although the over/under on the Chiefs' number of passes attempted with Brady Quinn under center this week should be around 20, Draughn isn't a particularly compelling deep-league flex play.

Chiefs RB Shaun Draughn was limited again in Thursday's practice.

Draughn is not expected to miss Sunday's game against Bucs. Jamaal Charles' backup is ranked No. 36 among fantasy backs this week.

Shaun Draughn was limited in Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury.

Draughn apparently picked up a nick in Sunday's loss, but he should be fine for Week 6. With Peyton Hillis (ankle) not expected to play against the Bucs, Draughn will again serve as Jamaal Charles' back-up. With the Chiefs likely to go extremely run heavy with Brady Quinn under center, Draughn is a mildly intriguing deep league flex option.

Shaun Draughn rushed 12 times for 40 yards and added a five-yard catch in the Chiefs' Week 5 loss to the Ravens.

The Chiefs brought one of the most run-heavy gameplans in recent memory for this one. Draughn was a big part of that as Jamaal Charles rushed 20 times in the first half and 30 times overall. The starter simply needed a break from time to time, so Draughn set a career high in touches. His Week 6 outlook will depend on Peyton Hillis' (ankle) status.

Shane Draughn rushed seven times for 22 yards and added three receptions for 26 yards versus the Saints in Week 3.

Thanks to garbage time in Week 1 and injuries to Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis the following two weeks, Draughn has at least six touches in every game. Charles touched the ball a career-high 38 times Sunday, an indication that Draughn would max out as a borderline flex play if Hillis missed Week 4 versus the Chargers with an ankle injury.

Chiefs promoted RB Shaun Draughn from the practice squad.

Draughn, Johnny White's committee partner at North Carolina last season, spent 13 weeks on the Chiefs' practice squad. He'll serve as depth behind Thomas Jones and Dexter McCluster in Sunday's finale against the Broncos.
