Giants signed RB Shaun Draughn, formerly of the 49ers.
It is a bit of an odd signing. Draughn has done his best work as a receiver throughout his career, and the Giants would seem to be set in that department with Shane Vereen returning. Draughn is quality depth, however, and his signing will not stop the Giants from addressing the position in the draft. Mar 21 - 11:23 AM

Shaun Draughn rushed 21 times for 41 yards and two touchdowns and caught 4-of-6 targets for 68 yards in the 49ers' Week 17 loss to Seattle.

Draughn was good in fantasy because he scored twice and led San Francisco in receiving, but the running game was a non-factor in this one apart from Draughn's two short-yardage touchdowns. A passing-game specialist, Draughn's contract is up. We suspect he won't be a priority re-signing for the 49ers.

49ers RB Shaun Draughn is expected to start the season finale against the Seahawks.

Draughn lost the No. 2 job to both DuJuan Harris and Mike Davis earlier this season, but he regained the role in recent weeks. Draughn saw 16 touches last week with Carlos Hyde exiting early with a knee injury, and he should lead the backfield again in the season finale. Still, he is not an exciting fantasy option in a terrible matchup, especially since he could lose some early-down work to Harris.

Shaun Draughn contributed 17 yards on 10 carries while adding six catches for 48 yards on seven targets Saturday in the 49ers' Week 16 win over the Rams.

Draughn’s 16 touches were easily a season-high. Four of his catches came in the second half with San Francisco in catch-up mode. He wasn’t much help in the ground game despite an increased workload, averaging just 1.7 yards per carry with a long run of three yards. With Carlos Hyde nursing a knee injury, Draughn could be in for a big workload next week against Seattle.

Shaun Draughn collected 15 yards on four carries Sunday in the 49ers' Week 15 loss to the Falcons.

He got a few change-of-pace reps when Carlos Hyde needed a breather, but that was about it. Draughn has actually scored four touchdowns this year but his volume isn’t nearly reliable enough for fantasy owners to really consider using him. He’ll fill his usual handcuff role next week against the Rams. That will be must-see television.

Shaun Draughn rushed seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown and caught his lone target for a loss of five in the 49ers' Week 14 loss to the Jets.

Draughn vultured Carlos Hyde for an early five-yard score, then stayed involved as Hyde's change-of-pace back the rest of the way. Draughn has taken back over as the 49ers' No. 2 back, bypassing DuJuan Harris.

Shaun Draughn corralled all three of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown Sunday in the 49ers' Week 11 loss to the Patriots.

Draughn only played nine snaps on Sunday but obviously he made the most of them. He padded his stats by securing a 13-yard touchdown with 2:06 remaining in the fourth quarter. Draughn has scored two touchdowns over his last four games despite earning just nine touches during that span. He’ll be well off the fantasy radar next week against Miami.

Shaun Draughn rushed once for 16 yards and caught 5-of-7 targets for 37 yards in the 49ers' Week 7 loss to the Bucs.

The 49ers spread DuJuan Harris, Mike Davis, and Draughn around pretty evenly. As expected, Draughn was most frequently utilized in the passing game. The 49ers are expected to get Carlos Hyde (shoulder) back after their Week 8 bye.

The 49ers announced Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis as co-starters for Week 7 against the Bucs.

They are subbing for Carlos Hyde (shoulder), with DuJuan Harris also expected to be involved. Draughn and Davis are both shaky flex plays versus a stout Tampa Bay run defense.

Shaun Draughn rushed twice for five yards and caught his lone target for three yards in the 49ers' Week 4 loss to the Cowboys.

As Carlos Hyde is dominating the 49ers' backfield snaps, Draughn lacks standalone value but does have some handcuff appeal in 14- and 16-team leagues.

Shaun Draughn rushed five times for ten yards and caught 1-of-2 targets for two yards in the 49ers' Week 3 loss to the Seahawks.

He finished with six touches to Carlos Hyde's 22. The 49ers did not go with Draughn despite a massive 37-3 deficit, instead feeding Carlos Hyde garbage-time carries to "narrow" the deficit to 37-10, then 37-17. Draughn isn't going to become a factor in fantasy football barring an injury to Hyde.

Shaun Draughn rushed seven times for 18 yards and one touchdown and caught 2-of-2 targets for 18 yards in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Rams.

Carlos Hyde was the 49ers' clear lead back, playing 58-of-82 snaps and handling all of the early-down work, but as expected, Draughn was in on passing downs, seeing 20 snaps. His touchdown came on a sweep to the left as Draughn stiff-armed SS T.J. McDonald on his way to pay dirt. Draughn will be more effective in the box score when the 49ers play from behind. That will likely be the case next Sunday on a short week ahead of Week 2 at the Panthers. He has some RB3 appeal in PPR leagues.

49ers coach Chip Kelly says Shaun Draughn is the team's No. 2 running back.

Draughn was already the favorite, but it's a nice vote of confidence that his coach is already confirming he won't be unseated by Mike Davis or DuJuan Harris this summer. Davis is coming off a brutal exhibition effort against the Broncos. Draughn will open the year with a role on third down, and is an intriguing handcuff behind Carlos Hyde, who isn't a picture of durability.

Shaun Draughn missed the 49ers' second preseason game with a rib injury.

Draughn got hurt in the 49ers' joint practices with the Broncos. "Got hit in the ribs in practice with Denver," said coach Chip Kelly. "So, we expect him to be back this week." As Mike Davis and DuJuan Harris combined for three lost fumbles Saturday night, Draughn remains the frontrunner for No. 2 back duties.

Shaun Draughn rushed twice for 12 yards and caught two balls for nine yards in the 49ers' preseason opener Sunday night.

Carlos Hyde was of course the 49ers' primary back, but Draughn also saw action with the first-team offense. He got buried in the backfield on his first carry for a loss of three, but broke several tackles on his next attempt for a 15-yard gain. Assuming Draughn can hold off Mike Davis -- who looked terrific tonight -- Draughn should open the season with a significant role, particularly in the passing game. Draughn is a late-round PPR flyer worth taking.
