Vikings placed WR Lestar Jean on injured reserve, ending his season.
Jean went unclaimed on waivers after being cut earlier this week. He'll likely miss the entire 2014 season on I.R or be released with an injury settlement. Jean has appeared in 27 games over the last two seasons, catching 10 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown. Jun 13 - 6:13 PM

Vikings waived/injured WR Lestar Jean.

The ex-Texan should go unclaimed on waivers. A 2011 undrafted free agent, Jean has always shined in pad-less practices, but has struggled to stay healthy. He has just 10 catches across 27 career games.

Vikings signed WR Lestar Jean, formerly of the Texans.

Jean (6-foot-3, 202) was a training camp and preseason star in 2011 before landing on injured reserve. He then caught six passes for 151 yards (25.2 YPR) and one score on 193 offensive snaps in 2012 before reeling in just four passes last season. Jean has been hyped before but it just doesn't appear to be there. He'll compete for a roster spot and perhaps contribute on special teams.

Free agent WR Lestar Jean is working out for the Dolphins Wednesday.

Jean had a visit with the wideout-desperate Panthers a couple weeks ago and didn't get a contract. It's an awful sign. The former Texan has one catch in 25 career games.

Free agent WR Lestar Jean is visiting the Panthers on Thursday.

The Panthers have already tapped the veteran receiver scrap heap in Jerricho Cotchery, and are now searching for younger bargains. A restricted free agent, Jean wasn't tendered a contract by the Texans. That should tell you where his career is at.

The Texans declined to tender restricted free agents WR Lestar Jean, OLB Bryan Braman, and DT Terrell McClain.

Jean has been an annual preseason hype all-star, but his exhibition game success never translated to real game action and he was off scholarship after Houston's coaching staff change. Braman was a core special teams player.
Mar 11 - 8:34 PM

Texans WR Lestar Jean finished the 2013 season with four receptions for 35 yards, appearing in 13 games.

An annual preseason sleeper, Jean made no noise as a third-year pro beyond special teams, where he notched two tackles. Jean now enters restricted free agency with just ten career catches. We suspect the Texans will not extend him a tender, although that remains to be seen under a new coaching staff.

Coach Gary Kubiak said "we've got to find some other guys to produce" alongside Andre Johnson.

The Texans tried to fill their wideout woes with three rookies last year. DeVier Posey was showing flashes but tore his Achilles' in the playoffs, Keshawn Martin is a slot guy and Lestar Jean played on just 193 snaps all season. The Texans don't appear sold on any of them. After finally letting Kevin Walter go, they're widely expected to pursue a receiver early in next week's draft.

Lestar Jean caught two passes for 31 yards in Monday night's Week 14 loss to the Patriots.

Jean was targeted five times on the night and seems to have bypassed struggling rookie Keshawn Martin as the team's No. 3 receiver. Jean possesses good size and runs like the wind, but he has unreliable hands. It showed on the opening drive, as he dropped his first target down the right sideline. Jean has six catches on the season.

Lestar Jean caught his lone target for a 54-yard touchdown in Week 13 against the Titans.

Jean's score put the Texans on the board in the first quarter. It should have been a meager 10-yard gain, but Titans safety Michael Griffin took a bad angle and went for the bat-down. Jean then slipped down the sideline and took it to the house. It was just his fourth catch of the season.

Lestar Jean (knee surgery) was held without a target in his return to the lineup in Week 6.

If Jean played a snap in Houston's loss to the Packers, we didn't see it. Jean has only two catches through four games.

Texans coach Gary Kubiak says rookie WR Lestar Jean (knee surgery) "will be back and ready" for Week 6.

Jean got in a limited session in Wednesday's practice, and is ready to resume reserve receiver duties. Jean is an intriguing talent, but notched just two catches for 55 yards before going down, and remains off the redraft radar in fantasy leagues.

Texans WR Lestar Jean (knee) has been ruled out for Week 5 on Monday night.

Jean underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair his meniscus after Week 3 and is considered week-to-week. He has been recovering quickly, so we could see the receiver back on the field in Week 6. Jean has just two catches this season but remains someone to monitor in fantasy. Quintin Demps (broken forearm) has officially been ruled out, also.

Texans declared WR Lestar Jean, QB John Beck, DB Roc Carmichael, CB Brandon Harris, LB Mister Alexander, OT Andrew Gardner and G Brandon Brooks inactive for Sunday's Week 4 game against the Titans.

Recovering from a knee scope, Jean will be an end-of-the-week decision for Week 5. "Our expectations were that he would miss a couple of games, but he's come along pretty darn quick," said coach Gary Kubiak.

Texans WR Lestar Jean required arthroscopic surgery this week because he tore a piece of his lateral meniscus in Week 3.

Jean played through the injury for the majority of the game. He's already walking without crutches after Tuesday's scope, and doesn't expect to miss more than a week or two.
