Dolphins signed WR Kevin Cone, formerly of the Falcons.
Cone (6-foot-2, 216) appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons last season, catching just one pass for 12 yards. It's his only career grab through 29 games. Cone has played a total of 51 offensive snaps in three seasons. He'll try and earn a spot as a special teams player, where he picked up five tackles in 2013. Apr 2 - 1:01 PM

Date:

Free agent WR Kevin Cone will visit the Panthers on Friday.

Jacksonville is also interested. Cone has only one reception as an NFL player, but that is one more than Tavarres King and Marvin McNutt, the two players currently atop Carolina's wide receiver depth chart. Even with the wideout situation in Carolina, Cone would be nothing more than a special teams contributor.

Kevin Cone was held without a catch in Week 7 against the Bucs.

Cone didn't receive any targets and played behind Darius Johnson in four-wide sets. Despite injuries to Julio Jones and Roddy White, he remains off the fantasy radar.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution considers Kevin Cone a candidate for the Falcons' No. 4 receiver job.

Cone was active for 12 games last season, but didn't see any offensive snaps. He's competing with Drew Davis, Marcus Jackson and former Mr. Irrelevant Tim Toone for a roster spot.

Falcons WR Kevin Cone sustained a concussion during Saturday's practice.

Cone is battling Drew Davis for the final wideout spot on the roster. He'll need to get medically cleared quickly to stay in the race.

Kevin Cone and Drew Davis are considered the favorites for the Falcons' final wideout spot.

With Eric Weems now on the Bears, there's room on the roster. Both Cone and Davis spent last season on the practice squad, with the former earning a promotion to the active roster in Week 17. Whoever makes the squad will focus primarily on special teams.

Falcons promoted WR Kevin Cone from their practice squad.

Cone played wide receiver opposite Demaryius Thomas at Georgia Tech. Not related to former Mets pitcher David Cone, Kevin will probably focus on running downs kicks in special teams coverage if he's active on game days.
