Packers re-signed OLB Nick Perry to a one-year, $5 million contract.
Perry has been a big-time bust as the 28th overall pick in the 2012 draft, as he never developed into a menacing edge rusher. But Perry did carve out a role as a quality run defender and edge-setter. He'll fill the same role again in 2016 and play roughly 30-50 percent of the defensive snaps. Mar 10 - 7:29 PM

Brian Costello of the New York Post could see the Jets pursuing free agent OLB Nick Perry.

The Jets are in the process of remaking their linebacker corps and are looking for a veteran to pair with 2015 third-round pick Lorenzo Mauldin. Perry should land within the team's price range, which is important given the Jets' shortage of cap space. Perry defended the run well last year and finished with a bang by providing 3.5 sacks in Green Bay's two playoff games.

Packers OLB Nick Perry was forced from Green Bay's Week 5 game against the Rams with a shoulder injury, and will not return.

Packers OLB Nick Perry revealed he underwent offseason shoulder surgery.

Perry added that the injury bothered him for almost all of 2014. When asked if he'll be ready for training camp, Perry balked at committing. Injury riddled and ineffective on the field, Perry has missed 16 games through three NFL seasons, managing nine career sacks. The Packers declined to exercise Perry's fifth-year option, so he's now entering a contract year.

The Packers will not pick up OLB Nick Perry's fifth-year option.

Perry has been a bit of a bust since the Packers took him 28th overall in 2012. He's never been a regular starter and was in on just 34.6 percent of the snaps last season. Perry's role is not expected to increase this year with Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers and Mike Neal also at outside linebacker.

Packers activated OLB Nick Perry (undisclosed) from active/PUP.

A Ted Thompson whiff thus far as the 28th overall pick in the 2012 draft, Perry missed the entire spring before failing his pre-camp physical. If not for his draft status, Perry might be entering 2014 on the roster bubble.

Packers placed OLB Nick Perry on the active/PUP list.

Perry and DE/OLB Mike Neal both failed their pre-camp physicals. Neal's inclusion is a surprise after he was a full-participant throughout OTAs, while Perry missed the entire offseason program with an undisclosed injury. A 2012 first-round pick, Perry has missed 15 of 32 possible regular season games.

According to ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky, there is "frustration throughout the organization" with 2012 first-round pick Nick Perry, who missed all of spring practices with an undisclosed injury.

Asked to explain Perry's injury, coach Mike McCarthy replied "I mean, he's injured, so ..." Perry has missed 15 of 32 possible regular season games, and battled foot and ankle injuries in 2013. "It's unfortunate," chimed in LBs coach Winston Moss. "It's disappointing." Perry has six sacks through 17 NFL appearances. He's going to lose snaps to Julius Peppers this season.

Packers OLB Nick Perry is sitting out OTAs with an undisclosed ailment.

It's unclear what Perry's issue is, but he missed five games with a broken foot last season. Oft-injured, the No. 28 overall pick of the 2012 draft is heading into a make-or-break year. Julius Peppers already promises to cut into his snap count.

The Packers are hoping for a third-year jump from OLB Nick Perry.

Perry was reduced to a situational role in the second half of last year while playing through injuries, recording just 28 tackles and four sacks. He's going to see less playing time with the addition of Julius Peppers, but should still get regular snaps at outside linebacker opposite Clay Matthews. Perry is entering a make-or-break season in 2014.

Packers OLB Nick Perry's snap count dropped from 38 to 33 to 28 to 22 to 12 over Green Bay's final five regular season games.

Perry has generally rushed the passer well when given opportunities this year, but is playing through an October 13 cracked foot and fallen behind Mike Neal and Andy Mulumba on the depth chart. He's having trouble changing direction in space. "Nick is pushing through some issues health-wise," confirmed OLBs coach Kevin Greene. Perry has six sacks through 17 career games.

Packers OLB Nick Perry has been diagnosed with a broken foot, but "will return this year."

It's yet another blow for Green Bay's unbelievably beat-up linebacker corps, and leaves them short both edge 'backers with Clay Matthews (thumb) sidelined. A 2012 first-rounder, Perry has been inconsistent this season, but is coming off two good games.
Mon, Oct 14, 2013 03:59:00 PM

Coach Mike McCarthy says second-year OLB Nick Perry "looks so much smoother and athletic" than he did as a rookie.

Perry, the No. 28 overall pick last year, had an underwhelming rookie season. He registered just two sacks in six games before a season-ending wrist injury. Perry is still sporting a brace on the wrist, but McCarthy says if training camp started tomorrow that Perry would be out there with no restrictions.

Packers OLB Nick Perry (wrist) has been fully cleared.

The 2012 first-rounder has been running opposite Clay Matthews in OTAs. Perry is blaming his lost rookie season on his wrist injury. "We strike and we do everything with our hands," Perry said. "Without hands you don’t have any grip to keep force and do all the things you’re supposed to do with both hands. Makes you a little handicapped out there." Perry also says he's lost a little weight after playing at 265 last season. "I want to feel more comfortable where I’m at."
