After spending the last two seasons as the Canes' starting left tackle, Washington decided to forgo his senior season and enter the draft. Standing at 6'3/320, the 2011 first-team All-ACC pick will compete for a No. 2 job behind Evan Mathis and Danny Watkins.

Miami (FL) T/G Brandon Washington and DE Olivier Vernon will forgo their senior seasons and enter the 2012 NFL draft.

Washington is considered the better pro prospect of the two. A 2011 first-team All-ACC pick, Washington was the Canes' starting left tackle the past two seasons. At 6'4/320, he is considered a potential impact guard at the next level. Vernon flashed big-time pass-rush ability as a sophomore before sitting out much of his junior year due to an agent-related suspension. The Hurricanes listed Vernon at 6'4/265. He's considered a late-round prospect.
