Former Panthers, Eagles, and Bears DT Darwin Walker is considering a return to the NFL.
"I haven't ruled out the possibility of playing still," said Walker, 33. "I've had a couple of offers. I turned them all down." Walker was out of football all last season. He had a visit with the Lions in August of 2009, but otherwise isn't known to have generated serious interest in free agency. Sun, Jun 20, 2010 10:15:00 PM

The Lions hosted free agent DL Darwin Walker over the weekend.

He wouldn't be the answer to Detroit's depth shortage at end, but could help inside. Walker has experience at both nose tackle and "three technique."

Free agent DT Darwin Walker's agent has spoken to the Panthers about returning for another season.

The agent says he has already turned down an offer from one West Coast team. Walker, 32, hasn't been much of a factor the past two seasons while looking increasingly injury-prone.

Panthers DT Darwin Walker is questionable after getting in a minor car accident Saturday.

The Panthers and free agent DT Darwin Walker failed to come to agreement on a contract.

Bears declined to exercise DT Darwin Walker's option for 2008, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The option was for $5.2 million. Walker, 30, dealt with injuries in 2007 and only produced one sack, although he often had to occupy blockers as a nose with Dusty Dvoracek on I.R. Walker's strength is rushing the passer.

Darwin Walker is listed as questionable, but is expected to play on Sunday against the Packers.

His return will be a big for the Bears' defensive line, which was already decimated by injuries, and will likely be without DE Mark Anderson (knee) on Sunday. Israel Idonije, who started in Walker's place last week, will likely slide out to end.

Bears DT Darwin Walker (shoulder) missed another practice on Friday.

Walker will likely be a game-time decision Monday night and the Bears paper thin interior line could be at their breaking point against Adrian Peterson without him. DT Tommy Harris (knee) was a limited participant.

Bears DT Darwin Walker will need to pass a fitness on his sore shoulder to play on Monday night.

Bears DT Darwin Walker was wearing a sling to protect his left elbow on Monday and his status for the Vikings in Week 15 remains uncertain.

Though Walker is optimisitic that he can play through the pain, he said he "played with one arm" in the second half last week. More bad news for a Bears front four that lost DT Anthony Adams and DT Antonio Garay for the season this week, but smiles all around for the Vikes running back duo.

Bears listed NT Darwin Walker, G Josh Beekman, SAF Josh Gattis, DB Ade Jimoh, LB Darrell McGlover, RB Lousaka Polite, and CB Nathan Vasher as inactive.

There was some optimism Walker would be able to play this week, but Chicago's DT will not play. Brian Westbrook should be able to put up good numbers against Chicago's suddenly suspect defense.
