The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ray Fittipaldo said Steelers T Mike Adams has had a "dismal start to training camp."
A 2012 second-round pick, Adams has been dreadful in 16 career starts, and has apparently looked equally bad in camp. Adams is unlikely to push incumbent left tackle Kelvin Beachum for snaps this season. Aug 2 - 11:37 AM

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette indicates Kelvin Beachum will have to hold off Mike Adams for the Steelers' starting left tackle job.

Beachum started 11 of the final 12 games on Ben Roethlisberger's blind side last season after Adams was destroyed in pass protection the first four games, yielding four sacks and 13 hurries. Adams has the draft pedigree as a former second-rounder, but Beachum is a technician and has consistently proved he can play. New OL coach Mike Munchak will try to turn Adams' career around.

Steelers 2012 second-round pick Mike Adams is expected to open the season as Pittsburgh's swing tackle.

Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Adams "has a long way to go" to push either LT Kelvin Beachum or RT Marcus Gilbert. Adams has flashed run-blocking prowess through two NFL seasons, but he's been a major liability in pass protection.

The jury found the three men accused of stabbing Steelers OT Mike Adams last year not guilty on Wednesday.

Adams was assaulted and stabbed in an alleged carjacking last June. He avoided major internal injuries. The defense claimed Adams started a fight that Saturday morning. With Adams having a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit, it was hard for the jury to believe his story. The former second-round pick hopes to jumpstart his career under new OL coach Mike Munchak, though Adams is likely to open the season as Pittsburgh's swing tackle.
Apr 30 - 5:56 PM

Steelers OT Mike Adams is expected to be one of new OL coach Mike Munchak's "pet projects."

Adams, the 56th pick in the 2012 draft, started the first four games of last season at left tackle but gave up four sacks and a whopping 19 pressures. He was benched in favor of Kelvin Beachum and relegated to backup duties for much of the remainder of the season. Munchak is one of the most well-respected line coaches in the league. Adams could be in the mix to start at right tackle.

Steelers LT Mike Adams has lost his starting job.

The Steelers will go with one of Levi Brown or Kelvin Beachum in Week 6. Through four games, Adams graded out as the eighth worst tackle by Pro Football Focus and has been demoted to third-string duties.

Mike Adams is expected to be the Steelers' Opening Day starter at left tackle.

Coaches were disappointed with Marcus Gilbert's early-camp showing on Ben Roethlisberger's blindside, and have flipped the tackles. Adams is a bit of a question mark because he was beaten repeatedly in pass pro early last year before finishing strong, particularly as a run blocker. The Steelers want to become more of a run-minded team on the strength of Le'Veon Bell's legs.

Steelers RT Mike Adams (stab wounds) has been medically cleared for the start of training camp.

Adams suffered the stab wounds during a late-May incident where he was allegedly defending himself in a robbery attempt, although the "robbers" have since claimed Adams was the aggressor. Adams was never changed with a crime and remains penned in as Pittsburgh's starting right tackle.

Coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Monday the Steelers expect RT Mike Adams (stab wounds) to make a full recovery, and he will be released from the hospital within 24 hours.

On Saturday, Adams was stabbed once in the stomach and once in the left forearm during a robbery attempt outside his Pittsburgh home. "We expect a full recovery," said Tomlin. "He realizes of course how fortunate he is. We're just glad he is going to be okay, and we're just taking it day by day. They're expecting six weeks or so." Steelers training camp opens in seven-plus weeks.

Steelers RT Mike Adams will be out six weeks following surgery to repair stab wounds suffered Saturday morning.

Adams is extremely fortunate he didn't sustain any life-threatening injuries. He should be fully recovered about two weeks before the start of training camp. His agent reports Adams should be full-go once camp opens.

Steelers RT Mike Adams suffered stab wounds resulting from an attempted carjacking Saturday morning.

Adams was stabbed in the stomach during an attempt to steal his truck by three assailants. The right tackle managed to escape without having any major organs hit, and is resting in the hospital. He came out of surgery this morning. GM Kevin Colbert has passed along word Adams will make a full recovery. Adams' agent, Eric Metz, said his client is expected to be out for six weeks, but will be ready for the start of training camp.

Steelers OTs Mike Adams and Marcus Gilbert will compete for the starting left tackle job.

Adams, the No. 56 overall pick last year, started six games at right tackle as a rookie and gave up seven sacks. Gilbert, entering his third season, also started six games at right tackle. Both players finished the season on injured reserve with ankle injuries. Free agent Max Starks isn't expected to be re-signed, and the loser of the competition will stick on the right side.

Steelers placed RT Mike Adams (ankle) on season-ending injured reserve.

Adams, the No. 56 overall pick out of Ohio State in the 2012 draft, started six games this season and was beat up as a pass blocker. He allowed seven sacks and 15 quarterback hurries in ten games of action. Adams hadn't played since Week 12, and Kelvin Beachum has been starting in his place on the right side.

Steelers declared RT Mike Adams inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Adams hasn't played since Week 12 and was listed on the injury report as doubtful. Also inactive for Steelers are CB Ike Taylor, WR Plaxico Burress, QB Byron Leftwich, CB Justin King, LB Adrian Robinson, and DE Al Woods. Taylor has missed the last three games with a leg injury and is targeting a Week 17 return.

Per CBS' Jason La Canfora, Steelers RT Mike Adams (ankle) is expected to be out a "significant period of time."

Adams has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. It's another blow to an offensive line that was already playing without normal starting RT Marcus Gilbert (ankle). Seventh-round rookie Kelvin Beachem is a candidate to step in, but newly activated first-round guard David DeCastro should give Mike Tomlin some flexibility.
