Colts ILB Jerrell Freeman left Sunday's Week 7 game against the Bengals with a hip injury, but later returned.

Freeman, who had been battling a hamstring injury over the last few weeks, only missed a series or two. He was part of a defense that held Cincy to 27 total yards in the first half before leaving.

The Colts expect ILB Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) to return in Week 5 against the Ravens.

It would be a boost to Indianapolis' run defense. Freeman is also used extensively in the Colts' pass-coverage schemes and is a starter in IDP leagues.

Colts ILB Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 4.

The Colts will also be without DL Arthur Jones (ankle). With Checkdown Charlie Whitehurst expected to be under center this week, the Titans might want to try feeding Bishop Sankey after he turned 10 carries into 61 yards last Sunday. Or they could keep "limiting" Sankey due to his allegedly imperfect "footwork."

Colts ILB Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) is out for Week 3.

Colts DT Arthur Jones has already been ruled out. The Colts will be without two of their most critical run defenders in Sunday's tilt with the Jaguars.

Colts declared ILB Jerrell Freeman, WR Da'Rick Rogers, RB Dion Lewis, OLB Chris Carter, C Khaled Holmes, C Jon Harrison, and OL Joe Reitz inactive for Week 2 versus the Eagles.

Freeman's (hamstring) loss is a big boost to LeSean McCoy and the entire Eagles' offense. Rogers is a healthy scratch as the No. 6 receiver, but remains a hold in Dynasty. Holmes still isn't over his preseason ankle injury.

Colts ILB Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 2.

Freeman was unable to practice this week after leaving the Colts' Week 1 game with a hamstring injury. Josh McNary will start in Freeman's place, and Henoc Muamba should get some snaps as well. The best coverage linebacker on the Colts' roster, Freeman's absence is good news for Eagles TE Zach Ertz.

Colts ILB Jerrell Freeman (concussion) will play in Week 7 against Denver.

Colts ILB Jerrell Freeman exited Monday night's Week 6 game against the Chargers with a concussion.

Freeman is done for the night. He also has a cut on his shin, but that's obviously not a long-term issue. Entering the night, Freeman was Pro Football Focus' No. 18 inside linebacker. He's been excelling as a run defender and pass rusher. Mario Harvey is in the game next to Pat Angerer at inside 'backer.

Playing with his injured left thumb wrapped Sunday, Colts MLB Jerrell Freeman broke Jeff Herrod's 1994 franchise record with 202 "unofficial" tackles this season.

That number comes courtesy of the coaching staff. The NFL credits Freeman with 145 tackles, which ranks fifth in the league. The CFL's runner-up for Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2011 has been one of many gems unearthed by first-year GM Ryan Grigson.

Colts MLB Jerrell Freeman's teammates are calling him "Baby Ray."

The reference is to Ray Lewis. After racking up 16 tackles in Sunday's win over the Bills, Freeman is up to 101 in 11 games -- good for fourth in the league. He also has two sacks, one interception he returned for a touchdown and a forced fumbled. The CFL's Most Outstanding Player in 2011, Freeman has turned into an IDP asset.

Colts GM Ryan Grigson and head coach Chuck Pagano reportedly believe ILB Jerrell Freeman is a "keeper" for the future.

Freeman has played 590 of a possible 603 defensive snaps this season according to Pro Football Focus. He is also tied for ninth in the NFL in tackles with 73. After Freeman finished as the runner-up for Most Outstanding Defensive Player in the CFL in 2011, the Colts signed him and plugged him right into the starting lineup. Freeman rarely comes off the field with Pat Angerer and Kavell Conner rotating next to him. He's developed into a quality IDP player in his rookie season.
