Chiefs LB Mark Simoneau was forced to retire from football due to a serious neck injury sustained in Week 10.
"I sustained an injury to my neck on Sunday that caused me to lose feeling in both of my arms for a period of time," he said. "I consulted with doctors and they assured me I will make a full recovery. ... It’s hard to end my career on this note but the thought of not being able to pick my daughter up was enough to make me realize I have to move on to the next phase of my life." Saints released LB Mark Simoneau.
