Raiders declared WR Juron Criner (hip) inactive for Sunday's Week 17 finale against the Chargers.
Criner was listed as probable, but there's no reason for the Raiders to risk him in this meaningless game. The fifth-round rookie finishes with 16 catches for 151 yards and one touchdown while playing behind the likes of Rod Streater and Derek Hagan. He'll be back next season to battle for the No. 4 wideout job. The rest of the Raiders' inactives: QB Carson Palmer (ribs), RB Jeremy Stewart, S Tyvon Branch, LB Rolando McClain, G Mike Brisiel and DL Brandon Bair. Sun, Dec 30, 2012 03:11:00 PM

Raiders WR Juron Criner sustained a hip injury during Sunday's Week 15 win over the Chiefs.

Criner lasted just eight plays before departing. He's been acting as the Raiders' No. 4 wideout behind Denarius Moore, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Rod Streater. Criner has just 16 catches all season.

Juron Criner reeled in four passes for 26 yards in Week 13 versus the Browns.

Criner did see nine targets on the day, but they weren't turned into much production. The rookie is nothing more than the fourth or fifth option in the Oakland passing attack. Leave him on the waiver wire.

Juron Criner caught three passes for 23 yards and his first career touchdown in Week 11 against the Saints.

Criner was targeted six times on the afternoon, which was good enough for third-most on the team. He entered the game with just four catches on the season, so he's not likely to be a fantasy option moving forward.

Fifth-round pick Juron Criner made his first two catches in Oakland's Week 4 loss to the Broncos, gaining 29 yards.

Active for just the second time this season, Criner drew three targets. Although it's nice that he's finally off the schneid, Criner isn't close to fantasy relevance in the Raiders' dysfunctional passing attack.

Raiders WR Juron Criner (ankle) and LG Cooper Carlisle (back) both participated in practice on Saturday.

Criner was injured in Monday's practice and is officially questionable for Monday night. The question marks are numerous in the Oakland receiving corps for Week 1. Carlisle is listed as questionable, but it's a good sign that he's practicing.

Raiders WR Juron Criner came down with an ankle injury during Monday's practice.

Criner was moving "slightly better" on Tuesday, but he now joins Denarius Moore (hamstring) as questionable for the opener. With so many question marks at wide receiver, the Raiders beat writers expect a heavier than normal workload for Darren McFadden versus the Chargers.

Raiders rookie WR Juron Criner finished the preseason with four catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Criner blew up a bit in the third preseason game against Detroit, making highlight-reel catches facing backup defenders. He's got depth-chart climbing to do, but has shown enough promise to be on the radar in Dynasty leagues.

Raiders rookie WR Juron Criner is listed behind Eddie McGee on the team's first training camp depth chart.

A former quarterback, McGee didn't begin playing wide receiver until his senior season at Illinois. Criner is fully expected to bypass McGee by the end of the month, but he has a long way to go before earning regular playing time. Rotoworld still views Criner as a player best left for Dynasty formats. Undrafted rookie Rod Streater is behind Denarius Moore and Jacoby Ford on the other side.

The Contra Costa Times' Steve Corkran is "still waiting for first Juron Criner catch of note" in Raiders camp.

Per Corkran, Criner wasn't getting "any reps" in team drills Monday. We're still very early in camp, but Corkran's tweets highlight the danger of reading too deeply into players lighting up pad-less OTA sessions. It will be easier to evaluate Criner's chances of making a rookie impact once he gets some preseason reps under his belt.

Raiders signed fifth-round WR Juron Criner to a four-year contract.

The Raiders don't begin training camp practices until Monday, so Criner missed no valuable time despite what might be perceived as a "late" signing. After blowing up OTAs and minicamps with circus catches, Criner will attempt to carry it over to live-contact work. Criner is a possession receiver with reliable mitts. We'd keep an eye on him in the preseason games.

Raiders rookie WR Juron Criner is "definitely in [the] running for serious playing time," according to the Contra Costa Times.

Don't get excited in redraft leagues just yet. Although beat writer Steve Corkran notes that Criner already "looks quite comfortable as an NFL player," the fifth-rounder is no higher than fourth on the depth chart. Corkran's advice to fantasy leaguers is to "slow your roll" if you believe Criner will move ahead of Darrius Heyward-Bey, Denarius Moore, or Jacoby Ford in three-wide sets. "Criner has a long way to go," cautions Corkran. "All (he's) done so far is get off to a nice start."

Raiders fifth-round WR Juron Criner made "at least four head-turning plays" in a 20-minute span during Tuesday's practice.

Don't go crazy with the Denarius Moore comparisons just yet. Criner showed outstanding hands and ball skills while stealing the show and earning praise from Carson Palmer and coach Dennis Allen. Stash Criner's name for Dynasty leagues, but keep in mind it was one practice without pads or hitting.

Raiders selected Arizona WR Juron Criner with the No. 168 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

A productive, big-bodied possession receiver with the Wildcats, Criner averaged a 78.5/1,095/11 line the past two seasons. Although he's a smooth route runner with soft hands and a large catch radius, Criner lacks a second gear, doesn't stretch the field, and too often win physical battles with defensive backs. His ceiling is a chain-moving No. 2 receiver, though he'll have to win a roster spot in Oakland.

Arizona WR Juron Criner ran forty times of 4.60 and 4.62 at the Wildcats' Pro Day.

His Combine times were 4.59 and 4.63, so we know he's not blazing fast. Criner did have an impressive 38 1/2-inch vertical, but only jumped 9-foot-1 in the broad. Criner has great hands and good length, but he's not an explosive wide receiver. He's probably going to be drafted in round three or four.
