Chiefs selected Texas A&M RB Cyrus Gray with the No. 182 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
A former top prospect, Gray's stock was derailed by injuries. He ran a 4.47 40 at the Scouting Combine, but rarely displayed that kind of speed in-game. Gray can catch and block, however, and is a load at 5-foot-10, 206 pounds. If he wins a roster spot, Gray could prove to be a better version of free agent Jackie Battle. Date:

Texas A&M RB Cyrus Gray ran an official forty-yard dash time of 4.47 and was clocked "unofficially" as fast as 4.41 at the NFL Combine.

He measured in at 5-foot-10 3/8 and 206 pounds earlier in the week, nearly identical to Virginia Tech's David Wilson. Unlike Wilson, Gray doesn't play in the 4.4 range and he has a checkered medical history. Still offering the potential to be a day-three value pick, Gray played in a pro-style offense under Mike Sherman in College Station. He was a top prospect before the injuries.
