Chiefs RB Cyrus Gray suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's win over the Bills.
He'll be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Gray is under contract through 2015 and should be back to compete for a roster spot. De'Anthony Thomas will replace Gray as the Chiefs' No. 3 back. Sun, Nov 9, 2014 06:10:00 PM

Chiefs RB Cyrus Gray rushed four times for 18 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 romp over the Dolphins.

With Jamaal Charles (ankle) inactive, Gray scored a red-zone touchdown in garbage time. Gray is buried on the depth chart in Kansas City and has no fantasy value, whether it be in re-draft or Dynasty leagues.

Cyrus Gray rushed twice for five yards in Kansas City's Wild Card loss to the Colts.

Gray was thrust into action after the Chiefs lost both Jamaal Charles (concussion) and Knile Davis (knee) to injury. A second-year sixth rounder, Gray has managed only 16 carries for 68 yards through his first two years in the league. A stout 5-foot-10, 206 pounds, Gray has 4.4 speed, but doesn't play to it. He'll be on the roster bubble next summer.

Chiefs selected Texas A&M RB Cyrus Gray with the No. 182 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

A former top prospect, Gray's stock was derailed by injuries. He ran a 4.47 40 at the Scouting Combine, but rarely displayed that kind of speed in-game. Gray can catch and block, however, and is a load at 5-foot-10, 206 pounds. If he wins a roster spot, Gray could prove to be a better version of free agent Jackie Battle.

Texas A&M RB Cyrus Gray ran an official forty-yard dash time of 4.47 and was clocked "unofficially" as fast as 4.41 at the NFL Combine.

He measured in at 5-foot-10 3/8 and 206 pounds earlier in the week, nearly identical to Virginia Tech's David Wilson. Unlike Wilson, Gray doesn't play in the 4.4 range and he has a checkered medical history. Still offering the potential to be a day-three value pick, Gray played in a pro-style offense under Mike Sherman in College Station. He was a top prospect before the injuries.
