Sep 27 - 2:44 PM

Bucs WR Chris Owusu secured 2-of-2 targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 1 loss to Carolina.

He's clearly the Bucs' No. 3 receiver, ahead of rookie Robert Herron. Owusu runs in the 4.3-4.4 range and caught a 19-yard dart from Josh McCown for his score. Owusu could become something of a deep sleeper if something happened to Mike Evans or Vincent Jackson, but he's roughly at WR6 at the moment.
Sep 7 - 7:47 PM

Bucs WR Chris Owusu says he's "preparing as if he's the starting slot receiver" for Sunday's Week 1 game versus Carolina.

Vincent Jackson and rookie Mike Evans are locked in as Tampa Bay's two-wide set. The team's website suggests the Bucs' third receiver will either be Owusu, Louis Murphy, or rookie Robert Herron. Whoever it is may still not be heavily involved on offense. With Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Brandon Myers at tight end, Tampa Bay is going to predominately be a "12 personnel" team.
Sep 4 - 12:21 AM

Coach Lovie Smith continued to throw praise in WR Chris Owusu's direction this week.

"Chris Owusu has been pretty good from day one," Smith said. "He’s one that has caught my attention from the first minicamp all the way through." Smith pointed to Owusu last month at voluntary workouts as a player that was catching his eye. The former UDFA out of Stanford will compete with Robert Herron and others for the No. 3 job behind Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans this summer.
May 29 - 12:36 PM

Coach Lovie Smith has been impressed with WR Chris Owusu early in the Bucs' offseason program.

"He has good size, excellent speed and I’ve been impressed with how he has caught the football," Smith said. "He’s a guy that you do notice." After the Mike Williams trade, Owusu appears to be the leader in the clubhouse for No. 2 duties. However, it's safe to say the Bucs will be adding to their receiving corps via the draft. Owusu is 6-foot, 200 pounds with 4.36 wheels.
Apr 25 - 10:48 AM

Bucs WR Chris Owusu caught three balls for 21 yards in Tampa Bay's Week 15 loss to San Francisco.

Speedy Owusu has been Tampa Bay's No. 3 receiver since Mike Williams hit injured reserve. He is a deep Dynasty league flier only.

Bucs WR Chris Owusu (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 14.

Owusu missed four games earlier this season with a quad issue, but was limited in practice this week with a new hamstring injury. If active, he'll be the No. 3 receiver behind Vincent Jackson and Tiquan Underwood for Sunday's matchup against the Bills.

Bucs WR Chris Owusu is active for Week 11 against the Falcons.

He'd been listed as questionable with a foot injury, but will serve as the Bucs' No. 3 receiver behind Vincent Jackson and Tiquan Underwood. The Bucs' Week 11 inactives are DE Da’Quan Bowers, CB Deveron Carr, CB Danny Gorrer, DT Derek Landri, S Bradley McDougald, G Carl Nicks, and G Patrick Omameh.

Bucs WR Chris Owusu (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 11.

Bucs declared WR Chris Owusu, LG Carl Nicks, CB Deveron Carr, S Brad McDougald, G Patrick Omameh, and DT Steven Means inactive for Monday night's Week 10 game against the Dolphins.

Owusu is dealing with a foot injury. Russell Shepard and Eric Page will fill in as the Nos. 3 and 4 receivers. Nicks also has a foot injury. Ted Larsen will start in his place. FS Dashon Goldson (knee) is active.

Bucs WR Chris Owusu (foot) is doubtful for Week 10.

Owusu didn't practice all week and will miss his third straight game. He'll return as the No. 3 receiver behind Tiquan Underwood when healthy.

Chris Owusu had three catches for 27 yards in Sunday's Week 7 loss to Atlanta.

It was just the second game he was active for this season. Owusu saw playing time in four-wide sets with the Bucs playing from behind and should continue to push Tiquan Underwood for the No. 3 receiver job.

Bucs signed WR Chris Owusu off their practice squad.

Owusu was the league's highest-paid practice squad player. The Stanford product ran a 4.36 at 6'0/196 at the Combine and would have been drafted in 2012 if not for concussion issues. Owusu is an immediate candidate to contribute as a third wideout with Kevin Ogletree cut.

Buccaneers signed WR Chris Owusu.

Among the 49ers' final cuts, Owusu was signed off the Chargers' practice squad. At one time considered a potential early-round prospect, Owusu went undrafted after a concussion-marred senior season at Stanford, but ran a 4.36 40 at the Combine. He caught five passes for 43 yards during the preseason. It's not outside the realm of possibility Owusu eventually contributes for a Bucs team that is remaking its receiver corps.
