Panthers placed OG Amini Silatolu on injured reserve with a torn left ACL, ending his season.
Silatolu suffered the injury in Sunday's win. Silatolu has been filling in for LG Andrew Norwell (leg), who is expected back for Carolina's Thanksgiving trip to Dallas. A 2012 second rounder, Silatolu's career has been beset by injury, including a torn right ACL in 2013. He'll be questionable for Week 1 next season. He's headed for free agency. Panthers LG Amini Silatolu exited Week 11 against the Redskins with a knee injury.

Silatolu came up gimpy in the third quarter and did not return. He is scheduled for an MRI Monday, but he does not think the injury is serious. Chris Scott replaced Silatolu against Washington, but Andrew Norwell will man the left guard spot when healthy.

ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton believes Amini Silatolu could win the starting left guard job in camp.

Andrew Norwell played well down the stretch last season after taking over for an injured Silatolu, but Silatolu brings more experience. Before Silatolu can unseat Norwell, he will have to prove his health. He has played just 10 games total the last two seasons.

The Panthers are not optimistic on the Week 11 status of LG Amini Silatolu (knee) and RT Nate Chandler (toe).

Coming off a game in which they allowed nine sacks, the Panthers offensive line is getting even worse. If Silatolu and Chandler can't play, the plan is to use Trai Turner at right guard, Andrew Norwell at left guard and Chris Scott at right tackle. The Falcons defense is atrocious also, but even they will be able to penetrate this line Sunday.

The Panthers will be without both of their starting offensive guards in Sunday's game against Seattle.

They've ruled out LG Amini Silatolu (calf) and RG Trai Turner (knee/ankle). Jonathan Stewart will likely have trouble finding room to run against the Seahawks' elite run defense without two of his most critical interior blockers.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu is headed for a Monday MRI on his calf.

Silatolu left Sunday's Week 6 tie in Cincy in the first quarter and did not return. He was spotted in a walking boot after the game. Silatolu, who blew out his knee last season, had played on all but 12 snaps through the first five weeks.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu (knee) says he's "probably at 98 percent" health and should be all systems go for the start of training camp.

Silatolu blew out his knee in Week 5 last season. He's fully expected to reclaim his starting job at left guard, while rookie Trai Turner is considered the favorite at right guard. The Panthers' Week 1 projected offensive line reads: LT Byron Bell, LG Silatolu, C Ryan Kalil, RG Turner, and RT Nate Chandler.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu (ACL surgery) is doing everything except 11-on-11 work during OTAs.

Silatolu is progressing well after blowing out his right knee in Week 5 last season. The Panthers desperately need the 2012 second-round pick to be a difference-maker on their talent-deficient offensive line this season.

Amini Silatolu (ACL surgery) is expected to reclaim his starting left guard job.

As a second-round rookie in 2012, Silatolu struggled as a pass protector while making 15 starts. Then he blew out his knee three games into the 2013 season. He'll be a question mark along with potential left tackle Byron Bell, right tackle Garry Williams and Chris Scott/Nate Chandler at right guard. The Panthers arguably have the worst offensive line in the NFL right now.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu has been diagnosed with a torn right ACL, and is done for the season.

It's a big blow for a Panthers' offensive line that got destroyed by the Cardinals on Sunday. The No. 40 overall pick of last year's draft, Silatolu was coming on after a shaky rookie season. The Panthers will move forward with Chris Scott and Travelle Wharton at guard. It's not a good situation for a struggling Cam Newton.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu will undergo an MRI on his right knee Monday.

The "initial diagnosis" is a knee sprain, but that means nothing before an MRI digs for potential ligament damage. The Panthers' offensive line got destroyed by Arizona's defense in Week 5, allowing seven sacks and 11 QB hits.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu is done for the day in Week 5 with a right knee injury.

We noticed Silatolu having the knee taped and iced heavily on the sideline, indicating a severe sprain. The extent of his injury is mere speculation at this point; the Panthers probably don't even know yet before an MRI.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu will resume starting in Week 2.

Silatolu missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury, and the Panthers still ran the football with success on Seattle's stout defensive front. They should be even better now. DeAngelo Williams is a solid RB2/flex Sunday at Buffalo.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

Silatolu practiced on a limited basis Friday and is a "long shot" to play in Week 1. It's a downgrade for DeAngelo Williams and the Panthers' run offense. Chris Scott is expected to start at left guard.

Panthers LG Amini Silatolu (hamstring) has resumed practicing.

He beat the Panthers' expectations, which were that Silatolu would miss Week 1. "I don't feel that way anymore, especially after seeing him today," coach Ron Rivera said. It's good news for a Carolina offensive line that looked to be reeling in preseason action. Their projected Week 1 O-Line looks like this: LT Jordan Gross, LG Silatolu, C Ryan Kalil, RG Garry Williams, RT Byron Bell.
