Eagles signed ILB Mychal Kendricks to a four-year, $29 million contract extension through 2019.
It includes $16 million guaranteed. From being the center of trade chatter during the spring to signing a long-term deal, Kendricks will be in Philadelphia the next five seasons. He's one of the few survivors of the Andy Reid era. Kendricks is a Chip Kelly player, as he's fast enough to play sideline-to-sideline in the run game and cover opposing tight ends and running backs. Once DeMeco Ryans' time is up, it'll be Kendricks and Kiko Alonso on the inside for the Eagles. Aug 24 - 7:43 PM

Eagles coach Chip Kelly made it clear Sunday that contract-year ILB Mychal Kendricks will not be traded.

"You can write that down in ink," Kelly emphasized. Kendricks has been the subject of trade rumors since the Eagles traded for Kiko Alonso, signed Brad Jones, and used a third-round pick on Jordan Hicks, all of whom play the same position as Kendricks. Kendricks is a rising star, though, and the Eagles need him in 2015 with DeMeco Ryans coming off a torn Achilles' tendon.

CSN Philly still believes the Eagles will find an "acceptable" trade offer for ILB Mychal Kendricks.

Kendricks and Brandon Boykin are expected to be the next talented Eagles that Chip Kelly lets loose. He can especially afford to move on from Kendricks with DeMeco Ryans, Kiko Alonso, Najee Goode, Brad Jones and rookie Jordan Hicks at inside linebacker. The Eagles were reportedly offering Kendricks in exchange for a second-round pick at the draft.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks admits he's uncertain about his future in Philadelphia.

"I don’t know," was Kendricks' response when asked if he'd remain on the roster come Week 1. "But I think so," was his addendum. The fact that coach/GM Chip Kelly acquired Kiko Alonso in the LeSean McCoy deal and signed DeMeco Ryans to an extension certainly signaled that Kendricks isn't long for Philly. CBS Sports reported last month that Kelly had been trying to flip Kendricks for a second-rounder. Kelly may wait for camp and needs to arise on other teams before revisiting a trade.

CBS' Jason La Canfora says Chip Kelly was "calling all around the NFL trying to pawn [Mychal Kendricks] off for a second-round pick."

Kendricks is a rising stud at inside linebacker, but is entering the final year of his contract. Chip was never going to get a second-round pick under those circumstances, especially when everyone knows how south the coach is on him. Now that the draft is behind us, the Eagles may have to settle for something like a 2016 fourth-rounder if they want to dump Kendricks. Kiko Alonso, DeMeco Ryans and third-round rookie Jordan Hicks are Chip's preferred inside 'backers.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks reported to Phase II of voluntary workouts Monday.

Kendricks was a no-show for Phase I as he was out of the country. Fittingly, his name was also hot in trade rumors ahead of the draft. After all was said and done, the Eagles drafted just one linebacker over the weekend -- ILB Jordan Hicks at No. 94. Over the weekend, coach Chip Kelly also said he expects Kendricks to remain part of the team this season. One of Kendricks, DeMeco Ryans, and Kiko Alonso isn't going to be a starter, if true. Kendricks is in the final year of his deal.
May 4 - 6:04 PM

Chip Kelly said he hasn't received any trade inquiries for Mychal Kendricks and expects him to be on the team this season.

The Eagles added fuel to the fire Friday by drafting ILB Jordan Hicks in the third round. Kendricks' name was mentioned along with Sam Bradford and Fletcher Cox in talks for the Titans' No. 2 pick, but that obviously never materialized. The 24-year-old rising stud became somewhat expendable when the Eagles swapped LeSean McCoy for Kiko Alonso and extended DeMeco Ryans. Kendricks is in the final year of his rookie deal.
May 1 - 11:25 PM

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora confirms the Eagles are "shopping" ILB Mychal Kendricks and are looking for a second-round pick in return.

Local media has speculated for a while that Kendricks is on the block, but La Canfora confirms those reports. After the acquisition of ILB Kiko Alonso and extension given to ILB DeMeco Ryans, the Eagles feel Kendricks is a spare part that could bring back a decent return. It's not a bad idea in what is viewed as a weak off-ball linebacker draft class that's headlined by Mychal's brother, Eric.

The Philadelphia Inquirer suggests the Eagles could land a second- or third-round pick for ILB Mychal Kendricks.

The writing is on the wall for Kendricks, as he's entering the final year of his contract while the Eagles traded for ILB Kiko Alonso and extended ILB DeMeco Ryans. Kendricks is expected to be another talented victim of Chip Kelly's purge of the previous regime. A Day 2 pick is steep for a player that will likely be available in free agency next March, but perhaps Kendricks could be used to sweeten a trade-up for Kelly on Thursday night.
Apr 27 - 9:23 AM

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, ILB Mychal Kendricks will join the Eagles' offseason workouts soon.

Kendricks had a planned vacation in Costa Rica. It's a bit curious he scheduled the trip for the first week of the offseason, but the workouts are "voluntary." Kendricks remains a name to watch on draft day as a very talented inside linebacker who may be on the trade block. He's heading into the final year of his rookie deal.
Apr 21 - 8:11 AM

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks was a no-show for the first day of voluntary offseason workouts Monday.

While these workouts are "voluntary" in nature, players are expected to attend. Kendricks has been the subject of trade rumors in recent weeks after the Eagles extended DeMeco Ryans' contract and acquired Kiko Alonso from the Bills in exchange for LeSean McCoy. Kendricks is entering the final year of his rookie deal and may be holding out in the hopes of a trade or long-term contract.
Apr 20 - 7:14 PM

CSN Philly's Andrew Kulp would be "mildly surprised" if Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks is not traded "before or during the draft."

Kulp is just connecting dots, but he draws a very interesting picture. Even though Kendricks is entering the last year of his rookie deal, the Eagles have yet to approach him about an extension. They did extend DeMeco Ryans and traded for Kiko Alonso. Chip Kelly seems to be on a mission to rid his roster of players acquired by ex-GM Howie Roseman. Kendricks is a budding star, but Kelly has proven willing to part ways with star players at the drop of a hat.

The Eagles have not approached ILB Mychal Kendricks about an extension as he enters the final year of his rookie contract.

Kendricks is just 24 years old, has difference-making sideline-to-sideline ability and can really cover from the inside linebacker spot. But the Eagles didn't like the way he rehabbed off a calf injury in 2014, and have since traded for Kiko Alonso and extended DeMeco Ryans. Now there's speculation Kendricks could be part of a draft day trade, something we can't rule out with hyper-aggressive Chip Kelly at the controls.
Mar 31 - 8:45 AM

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (calf) was limited in his return to action Sunday.

Normally an every-down linebacker, Kendricks played on just 23-of-73 snaps and looked far from his usual special self. "I'm not 100 percent, no," he admitted. The good news is Kendricks appeared to avoid setbacks heading into a Week 9 game at Houston.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (calf) is active for Sunday's Week 8 game at Arizona.

Kendricks has been sidelined since Week 2, leaving an already thin Eagles linebacking corps exposed. His return is a slight downgrade for the matchup of Andre Ellington. Kendricks is Philly's best cover 'backer.
