Eagles SLB Mychal Kendricks is recovering from "clean-up" ankle surgery.
Kendricks is expected to be sidelined "for a few weeks." It sounds like a scope. Bandied about in trade rumors this offseason (again), Kendricks had a strong 2017 as a two-down player. He was a force against the run. Mar 22 - 9:50 PM

Eagles SLB Mychal Kendricks said he asked the team to trade or release him back in January.

The Eagles declined Kendricks' request. Kendricks doesn't have much of a role in DC Jim Schwartz's defense as the third linebacker. Perhaps the Eagles are holding onto Kendricks in the event WLB Nigel Bradham is suspended following his July 4 battery charge settlement.

The Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski believes "the Eagles will continue to seek offers for" LB Mychal Kendricks.

The Eagles and 49ers were reportedly close to a deal during the combine, but the trade never materialized. After the draft, EVP Howie Roseman said he "fully anticipate(s)" Kendricks will remain with the team, but Kempski thinks Roseman is simply posturing to convince other teams Kendricks will not be available for free in August. Still just 26 and a quality player when used correctly, it is surprising the Eagles have had this much trouble moving Kendricks even with a somewhat bloated contract.

The Boston Herald's Jeff Howe reports the Eagles are still working to trade LB Mychal Kendricks.

GM Howie Roseman is likely still holding onto Kendricks, DE Connor Barwin, C Jason Kelce, and even RB Ryan Mathews in an attempt to trade them for whatever he can acquire. Kelce is probably the biggest asset, but Kendricks is still just 26 and was viewed as a building block in the previous 3-4 scheme.

A source told Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski that the Eagles are indeed likely to trade SLB Mychal Kendricks.

Kempski previously strongly speculated Kendricks would be moved, and he now has a source confirming it. Kendricks regressed into a lightly used sub-package linebacker under first-year DC Jim Schwartz, playing fewer snaps than both MLB Jordan Hicks and WLB Nigel Bradham. If the Eagles can't find a taker for the remainder of Kendricks' five-year, $30 million deal, Kempski believes they may designate him a post-June 1 cut, freeing up $5 million in cap room. The Eagles would likely be willing to deal Kendricks for a mid- to late-round pick.

Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski expects the Eagles to trade SLB Mychal Kendricks.

Kendricks signed a four-year, $29 million extension in 2015. He was a great fit in the previous 3-4 system, but Kendricks fell out of favor under current DC Jim Schwartz, who coaches a 4-3 front. Kendricks played just 273 snaps in 2016. Shedding Kendricks will likely be one of EVP Howie Roseman's top priorities. The former No. 46 overall pick is due a $4.85 million salary going on age 27.

Eagles SLB Mychal Kendricks broke his nose against the Bears in Week 2.

He also bruised his quad, though neither injury is considered serious. Kendricks might be listed on the injury report, but he should be fine for Week 3 against the Steelers. Through two weeks, Kendricks holds PFF's 13th-highest grade among 4-3 outside linebackers.

Eagles SLB Mychal Kendricks played just 19-of-53 defensive snaps Week 1 against the Browns.

When the Eagles go into their nickel defense and sub-packages, Kendricks is the odd man out. He just signed a four-year, $29 million extension last August, but that was ex-coach Chip Kelly's call. MLB Jordan Hicks and WLB Nigel Bradham are the every-down linebackers. Kendricks could be trade bait next offseason. For now, he's off the IDP map playing such limited snaps.

Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski suggests Stephen Tulloch's signing could mean Eagles WLB Mychal Kendricks is "head(ed) to the bench."

Kempski was just thinking out loud, but later noted Kendricks has missed time in camp and "hasn't stood out." Kendricks signed a new five-year, $30 million deal last offseason, and proceeded to have the worst year of his career. If Tulloch is going to start, someone will be demoted. Kendricks is a likelier candidate than Jordan Hicks or Schwartz favorite Nigel Bradham.

Eagles WLB Mychal Kendricks has bulked up from 235 pounds to 250.

However, Kendricks isn't sure if that will end up being his 2016 playing weight. Kendricks is known for his speed and range, and must be experimenting with how much some added heft would affect that. At the very least, all Eagles defenders will be playing fewer snaps with coach Chip Kelly gone.

Mychal Kendricks is expected to play weak-side linebacker in the Eagles' new 4-3 defense.

Kendricks will be new DC Jim Schwartz's next DeAndre Levy. Levy was a do-it-all WILL linebacker under Schwartz, and it earned him a big pay day. Kendricks has the speed and range to make plays sideline-to-sideline, but is coming off a really disappointing 2015. Early projections have Kendricks at WLB, Jordan Hicks at MIKE, and Connor Barwin on the strong side. That'd leave Kiko Alonso as the odd man out. It's possible the Eagles will look to trade Alonso.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.

Kendricks made it seem like he has a good chance to play this week, but also noted waiting through the Week 8 bye is still an option. With DeMeco Ryans questionable with a hamstring injury, Kendricks playing this week would be a big boost for the Eagles' defense.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 5.

With Kendricks and Kiko Alonso (knee) both ruled out against the Saints, the Eagles will start DeMeco Ryans and rookie Jordan Hicks at inside linebacker.

The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reported it "will be a stretch" for Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (hamstring) to play Week 5.

Kendricks aggravated his hamstring injury early in the first quarter Week 4 against the Redskins. McLane reported the aggravation knocked Kendricks' hamstring "back to where it was two weeks ago." Rookie Jordan Hicks has 23 tackles and an interception filling in for Kendricks over the last three weeks.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks aggravated his hamstring injury early in the first quarter Week 4 against the Redskins.

He is questionable to return. Jordan Hicks will once again play big snaps with Kendricks on the sidelines.
