Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (calf) is out for Sunday's Week 3 game against the Redskins.
It's a massive injury to an already shaky Eagles defense. Not only is Kendricks a rising star, but his backups (Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho) are disasters. Bump up Alf Morris and Niles Paul. Sep 19 - 9:53 PM

Coach Chip Kelly said ILB Mychal Kendricks (calf) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Kendricks won't practice Thursday as he tries to get his calf right. The Eagles have listed their rising star linebacker as day to day.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks underwent an MRI on his calf.

There was some speculation that Kendricks was just dealing with cramps, but the need for an MRI confirms this isn't the case. The Eagles' thin linebacking corps cannot afford to lose their rising star at all. Backup Casey Matthews was benched before he could get his head on straight Monday night.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks exited Monday night's Week 2 game against the Colts with a calf injury and will not return.

Kendricks was hurt late in the third quarter and limped to the locker room. Casey Matthews is filling in next to DeMeco Ryans. It's a significant downgrade. Kendricks is an every-down player and one of the stars of the defense.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks has been assisting with defensive play-calling in OTAs.

Fellow ILB DeMeco Ryans called the plays in 2013, but Kendricks is being groomed to potentially help. It could mean anything from Ryans will play less, to the Eagles want Kendricks to be ready if Ryans goes down with injury. Ryans played 96 percent of the Eagles' defensive snaps last season, but was bandied about as a release candidate. Ryans is on the downside of his career, while Kendricks has All-Pro upside.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks battled thumb issues last season and had it placed in a cast for about a month this offseason to let the loose tendons tighten up.

With his hand in a cast, Kendricks worked on his conditioning over the winter and expects to play faster. He also worked on his core strength to help prevent missed tackles. PFF credited Kendricks with a whopping 21 missed tackles in 2013. He's a sideline-to-sideline linebacker with All-Pro potential.
Apr 29 - 12:42 PM

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks said he plans to make film study his priority this offseason.

Kendricks has freakish sideline-to-sideline physical tools, and he put them on display during a breakout sophomore campaign. He posted 106 tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, six tackles for a loss and two forced fumbles. Once Kendricks wraps his head around the position, he's going to be an annual All-Pro candidate. "You can only get so fast and so strong, but you cannot stop developing your mind," he said. "It's a more powerful weapon than anything else."

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (knee) is practicing Tuesday.

Kendricks didn't practice at all last week due to a knee injury and missed Sunday's game against the Redskins. He's considered day to day and should return when the Eagles come out of their bye in Week 13.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks (knee) did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.

Kendricks' injury is not considered serious, but he's in doubt for Sunday's game against the Redskins. It would leave the Eagles without their most athletic linebacker in a game oddsmakers project to be the highest scoring in Week 11. LT Jason Peters (quad) also hasn't practiced this week.

Eagles DC Billy Davis said ILB Mychal Kendricks (knee) is "day to day."

Kendricks exited Week 10 in the first quarter with a knee injury, and did not return. He's managed to avoid a serious injury and could practice this week. Kendricks has 68 tackles and one sack through nine games.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks left Sunday's Week 10 game at Green Bay with a knee injury and will not return.

In the first quarter, Kendricks tried to tackle Eddie Lacy at the second level and took the worst of it. Trainers were looking at his right knee before he went to the locker room for X-rays. Kendricks, perhaps the most athletic player on the entire Eagles defense, was second on the team with 66 tackles through nine games.

Eagles DC Billy Davis said ILB Mychal Kendricks' "knack" for blitzing is "very exciting."

Kendricks looked like the best defender on the field Monday night, flying around for 10 tackles (six solo, one for a loss) and two quarterback hits. Now a blitzer from weak-side inside 'backer, he's going to shatter last year's mark of one sack. Kendricks, also a strong coverage linebacker, is an IDP sleeper turned gold.

Eagles ILB Mychal Kendricks is expected to rush the quarterback more this season.

Kendricks sometimes gets a "cover linebacker" tag because he ran a 4.47 at the Combine. But he's also capable of a pass rush, something he wasn't able to show as an outside linebacker in last year's Wide Nine scheme. Now that new DC Billy Davis is installing some variation of a 3-4 base, Kendricks is licking his chops. He's one of our favorite IDP sleepers.

Sheil Kapadia of Philly Mag thinks Eagles second-year ILB Mychal Kendricks can have a "really big year" this season.

Kendricks, the No. 46 overall pick last year, appeared in 15 games as a rookie and registered 75 tackles and a sack as the Eagles' starting strong-side 'backer. He'll kick inside in the new 3-4 scheme, and he has the skills to play the run and cover tight ends and running backs. Pro Football Focus graded Kendricks out as its No. 42 4-3 outside linebacker last season.

Eagles SLB Mychal Kendricks (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 17.

Both Kendricks and fellow rookie DT Fletcher Cox sustained concussions in last week's loss to the Redskins. Kendricks is currently third on the team in tackles with 75, and has recorded an impressive nine passes defensed. Akeem Jordan will start at strong-side linebacker in Kendricks' place.
