Broncos agreed to terms with OT Donald Stephenson, formerly of the Chiefs, on a three-year, $14 million contract.
27-year-old Stephenson has starting experience at both offensive tackle positions. The Broncos particularly need help on the right side. Stephenson figures to battle for that job in training camp, attempting to upgrade on Michael Schofield. Ideally a "swing" tackle, Stephenson graded out 54th among 76 qualifiers in PFF's 2015 tackle grades. He struggled most in pass protection. Mar 8 - 8:55 PM

Donald Stephenson got first-team reps at left tackle during OTAs last week.

Eric Fisher played with the second unit. Head coach Andy Reid said "I wouldn't read anything into that," explaining that it was just an experiment. Fisher was among the worst tackles in football last season and has been a bust since getting drafted first overall in 2013. Stephenson started four games at left tackle in 2013 but only played 31 snaps last season.

Chiefs activated RT Donald Stephenson from the reserve/suspended list.

Stephenson should immediately reassume starting duties from Ryan Harris, who has been ineffective in his absence.

NFL suspended Chiefs RT Donald Stephenson four games for violating the league's policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

Stephenson was a below-average starter to begin with, but it's still a big hit to an already shaky Kansas City line. LT Eric Fisher has been pulverized in preseason games after a rough rookie year, while the Chiefs' interior line isn't much better. In Zach Fulton, Kansas City has a sixth-round rookie penned in at right guard. Line-play differential is one reason to support LeSean McCoy over Jamaal Charles as the No. 1 overall pick in 2014 fantasy drafts.

Chiefs G/T Donald Stephenson is expected to miss a week after undergoing finger surgery.

Stephenson won't play in the first preseason game. He's competing to be the Chiefs' starting left guard.

The Kansas City Star confirms Donald Stephenson has been running as the first-team left guard during OTAs.

Stephenson started seven games at right tackle last season, but is currently blocked by Eric Fisher and Branden Albert. The Chiefs view Stephenson as a potential upgrade over incumbent starter Jeff Allen in their zone blocking scheme. Jon Asamoah is locked into the starting right guard job.

Chiefs OT Donald Stephenson is "spending a lot of time at guard" in OTAs.

He's also running with the second team at left tackle. A 2012 third-rounder, Stephenson's path at tackle is currently blocked by Eric Fisher and Branden Albert. Stephenson played 377 snaps as a rookie, but got whipped in pass protection. Stephenson will be in the mix for swing-tackle duties. His 6-foot-6, 312-pound frame would be big for a guard.

Chiefs signed third-round OT Donald Stephenson to a four-year contract.

Stephenson worked at left tackle during rookie camp, and the Chiefs are projecting him as a swing tackle in his first season. Stephenson possesses left tackle length at 6-foot-6, 314 with 35 1/4-inch arms, and showed terrific athleticism with a 35 1/2-inch vertical and 4.98 forty at the Combine. Stephenson is a bit of a project, but he has the skill level of a future starter.

Third-round pick Donald Stephenson is practicing at left tackle during Chiefs rookie minicamp.

Keep in mind this is a rookie camp, involving no veterans aside from tryout players. Branden Albert will be the Chiefs' left tackle this season, but Stephenson represents long-term insurance for the contract-year starter. Kansas City is hoping Stephenson will emerge as a capable swing tackle in year one.

Chiefs selected Oklahoma OT Donald Stephenson with the No. 74 overall pick in the 2012 draft.

Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris' 11th ranked tackle, Stephenson was a left tackle for the Sooners, but will be limited to swing duties behind Branden Albert and Eric Winston as a rookie, and perhaps for 2-3 years to come. He boasts excellent athleticism for a tackle, but has below-average strength. He's currently more of an asset in the run game than passing attack. Clocking in at 6-foot-6, 312 pounds, the Chiefs may want him to add raw bulk as much as muscle.
