Bears released S Omar Bolden.
This is a surprising move considering Bolden both played for coach John Fox in Denver and was given an $80,000 signing bonus in March. A quality special teamer, Bolden will likely find a new home during training camp. Jul 22 - 4:17 PM

Bears signed S Omar Bolden, formerly of the Broncos, to a one-year contract.

Bolden is a deep reserve who played for coach John Fox in Denver from 2012-14. He'll be a core special teamer/kick returner for the Bears.
Mar 31 - 5:43 PM

Free agent S Omar Bolden will visit the Bears.

It is his first reported visit. The Bears are looking for depth behind Antrel Rolle, who is 33 and struggled through injuries last season. Bolden is also a standout on special teams.
Mar 24 - 1:04 PM

Broncos placed S Omar Bolden on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.

That means Denver will be without its top kick returner for Sunday's AFC Championship. The Broncos haven't announced who will take Bolden's spot on the active roster. The former fourth-round pick is headed for free agency.
Jan 19 - 1:39 PM

Broncos S Omar Bolden is done for the season with a "partial" PCL tear.

The reserve safety does not require surgery. Bolden had just returned from a multi-week hamstring issue. It's a big loss for depth purposes, as David Bruton is already on injured reserve. A 2012 fourth-rounder, Bolden is headed to free agency.
Jan 18 - 1:25 PM

Broncos S Omar Bolden exited the Divisional Round win over the Steelers with a knee injury.

Bolden had to be helped off the field in the first quarter after suffering a non-contact knee injury. Doctors told Bolden the injury was a ligament issue, adding his knee was "loose." It is likely Bolden is done for the rest of the playoffs. He is scheduled for an MRI Monday.

Broncos declared S Omar Bolden, QB Trevor Siemian, CB Kayvon Webster, OL Shelley Smith, OL Michael Schofield, FB James Casey, and DE Kenny Anunike inactive for Week 3 against the Lions.

There's no surprises among the Broncos' inactives. Bolden was listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis and should return in Week 4.

Broncos declared S Omar Bolden, QB Trevor Siemian, LB Lerentee McCray, CB Lorenzo Doss, OG Shelley Smith, TE Mitchell Henry and DE Kenny Anunike inactive for Week 2 against the Chiefs.

C.J. Anderson (toe) is active and starting. SS T.J. Ward is off suspension and back in the starting lineup. Bolden is week to week with a foot injury.

The Broncos are considering moving S Omar Bolden to cornerback.

Bolden was converted to a rotational safety last season, playing on a career-high 211 snaps. With T.J. Ward, Rahim Moore, Quinton Carter, and Duke Ihenacho locked in as the Broncos' top four safeties, Bolden's best chance at making the team could be as the No. 5 corner. A 2012 fourth-round pick, Bolden will remain a deep reserve if he keeps his roster spot.

According to the Denver Post, Broncos CB Omar Bolden has been converted to safety.

A 2012 fourth rounder, Bolden is in a fight for his roster spot. Bolden saw just 81 snaps on defense as a rookie, and was ineffective. Beat writer Mike Klis believes Bolden and Quentin Jammer are squaring off for one roster spot.

Broncos secondary coach Corey Undlin hinted 2012 fourth-round CB Omar Bolden is competing just to keep his roster spot in 2013.

Champ Bailey, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Chris Harris are locked in as Denver's top three corners. Tony Carter is No. 4, and they used a third-round pick on Kayvon Webster. "You draft a corner in Kayvon and then you bring in Aaron Hester, the free agent kid," noted Undlin. "You’re in the middle of the depth chart right there. You’re counting numbers and there’s only so many spots."

Broncos VP of Football Operations John Elway anticipates 2012 fourth-round CB Omar Bolden competing for a starting job in 2013.

"You bet," Elway said. "He's a fighter. His comment to me was that he is going to come back for next season and take somebody's job." Bolden tore his ACL twice in college, but stayed healthy as a rookie while racking up ten special teams tackles. He'd battle Chris Harris and Tony Carter opposite Champ Bailey.

Broncos signed fourth-round CB Omar Bolden to a four-year contract.

Bolden is coming off his second ACL surgery, dropping his draft grade from potentially the late first round to No. 101 overall. Coach John Fox said the former Arizona State star "definitely looked like a first-round type of talent" in rookie minicamp. Bolden is expected to compete for return duties and sub-package work this season.

Broncos rookie CB Omar Bolden says he's all the way back from the torn ACL that cost him his senior season at Arizona State.

Bolden wasn't 100 percent as recently as the Combine, but has since made the final strides. Bolden is an excellent cover corner when healthy, but should see few defensive snaps as a rookie as he gets back to football speed. An excellent kick returner for the Sun Devils, Bolden should be in the mix there.

Broncos selected Arizona State CB Omar Bolden with the No. 101 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

Bolden had second-day grades from NFL scouts before missing all of the 2011 season with a torn left ACL. He worked out before the draft, and ran a respectable 4.52 12 months removed from the blown-out knee. The Broncos did a ton of homework on Bolden before the draft, so they are comfortable with his medical. He goes 5-foot-10 1/2 and 203 pounds, and was a 35-game starter at ASU.
