Chiefs WR Devon Wylie caught three balls for 36 yards on four targets in Kansas City's Week 16 loss to Indianapolis.
It was Wylie's most active game of the season. A fourth-round rookie out of Fresno State, Wylie has some Wes Welker to his game as a slot receiver and could eventually be an upgrade there on Dexter McCluster. Wylie is a player to monitor in PPR keeper leagues. The Chiefs travel to Denver for the season finale. Sun, Dec 23, 2012 05:05:00 PM

Chiefs rookie WR Devon Wylie (hamstring) has resumed practicing on a full-time basis.

Bothered by the injury since the season opener, Wylie has yet to play an offensive snap this year. Coach Romeo Crennel will let Wylie get some practice reps under his belt before considering him on kickoff and punt returns.

Fourth-round rookie Devon Wylie worked behind Dexter McCluster in the slot during offseason workouts.

Wylie sustained a hamstring injury and missed the entire minicamp, which is worth noting due to his lengthy college injury history. If the Fresno State product has a real impact as a rookie, it will likely come in the return game.

Chiefs signed fourth-round WR Devon Wylie, sixth-round RB Cyrus Gray, seventh-round WR Junior Hemingway, and seventh-round DE Jerome Long to four-year contracts.

Drawing comparisons to Wes Welker "every day of his life," Wylie projects as a long-term slot receiver and punt returner. Formerly a top prospect, Gray has a chance to take Jackie Battle's roster spot as the final running back. Long will vie for a backup spot on the defensive line. Hemingway will help more on special teams than at receiver.

The Chiefs project fourth-round pick Devon Wylie as a slot receiver and potential punt returner.

Kansas City should feel good about Javier Arenas on punts, but Wylie could push him and work opposite Arenas on kickoffs. Wylie's ceiling to start the season on offense may be as the No. 4 receiver behind Dwayne Bowe, Steve Breaston, and Jonathan Baldwin. This isn't a great landing spot for fantasy value.

Chiefs selected Fresno State WR Devon Wylie with the No. 107 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

An under-sized slot receiver at 5-foot-9, 187 pounds, Wylie has drawn the customary comparisons to Wes Welker, but ran a blazing 4.39 40 at the Combine. He has a long and lengthy injury history, however, missing all but one game in 2010 after missing four each in 2008 and 2009. Wylie did manage to stay healthy as a senior. An explosive returner, Wylie could be mostly limited to special teams as a rookie, but is a player to monitor in Dynasty/PPR leagues.
