ESPN 1500 Twin Cities considers Jarius Wright a situational No. 4 receiver.
Wright flashed some ability following Percy Harvin's ankle injury last season, recording 22 catches for 310 yards with two touchdowns in just seven games. He's a big-play threat, but is too raw to be counted on as an every-down wideout. The Vikings should be looking for another receiver in the draft to push current No. 2 man Jerome Simpson. Profootballtalk.com reports that the Vikings offered the Ravens a seventh-round pick for Anquan Boldin before he was traded to San Francisco for a sixth-rounder on Monday.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman whiffed on Boldin, but he's obviously in the market for receiver help. Minnesota's only wideouts under contract for 2013 are Jarius Wright, Greg Childs, Stephen Burton, and Chris Summers. We expect the Vikings to pursue free agents Greg Jennings and Danny Amendola on Tuesday afternoon.

Jarius Wright managed just two catches for 13 yards in the Vikings' Wild Card loss to Green Bay.

A week after burning the same Packers secondary for 90 yards and a touchdown, rookie Wright had minimal impact with Joe Webb at the controls. Wright, a 2012 fourth-round pick out of Arkansas, wound up appearing in seven regular season games, primarily as Percy Harvin's injury replacement. He caught 22 passes for 310 yards and two touchdowns. We're not overly optimistic about Wright emerging as a fantasy factor in 2013, but he certainly brings some big-play ability to the table.

Jarius Wright led the Vikings with 90 yards and a touchdown on three receptions versus the Packers in Week 17.

Christian Ponder just missed the fourth-round rookie after he beat his man to the corner of the end zone on what would have been a second touchdown. Although Wright hauled in an 8-yard score, the play of the game was a 65-yard play-action reception to set up the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Averaging 71.5 yards the past two weeks, Wright is finally giving the Vikes a threat in the passing game heading into a rematch at Green Bay.

Jarius Wright caught five passes for 53 yards in the Vikings' Week 16 win over the Texans.

Wright saw single coverage with the Texans selling out to stop Adrian Peterson. He responded with more catches and targets (9) than he saw in the previous three games combined. Wright's Dynasty stock is on the rise as Percy Harvin's issues come to the forefront, but he's not a special talent. The fourth-round rookie is averaging just 11.57 yards per catch on the year.

Jarius Wright caught just one pass for 11 yards in Minnesota's Week 15 win over the Rams.

Wright drew only two targets as Christian Ponder wheezed toward 131 passing yards on 24 attempts. The window for Wright to emerge as a redraft-league factor this season has come and gone.

Jarius Wright caught two passes for 29 yards versus the Bears in Week 14.

Wright's four targets were second to Michael Jenkins' (four catches, 36 yards) five. The rookie hasn't done much of a Percy Harvin impression, managing just three catches over the past two games. None of the Vikings receivers can be counted on during the fantasy playoffs.

Jarius Wright caught just one pass for 13 yards at Green Bay in Week 14.

He was targeted just the one time on the last play of the game. With Percy Harvin (ankle) gunning for a Week 14 return versus the Bears, Wright can be dropped in all fantasy leagues.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune expects Jairus Wright to play a "prominent" role in Sunday's game against the Packers.

With Percy Harvin (ankle) ruled out, Wright will be featured as the Vikings' slot receiver for the second time in three weeks. He figures to see an increase in targets from Week 12, but isn't a recommended fantasy option. Jerome Simpson and Michael Jenkins will continue to start on the outside.

Jarius Wright led the Vikings with seven receptions, gaining 49 yards in the team's Week 12 loss to Chicago.

Wright contributed to a miscue-filled game for Vikings pass catchers with a late-game drop, but by and large he was the team's top receiver. Wright filled in for Percy Harvin (ankle) at slot receiver, and it's unclear when Harvin will rejoin the lineup. As long as Harvin is out, the impressive rookie Wright is on the points-per-reception league fantasy radar as a WR4/5.

Vikings rookie WR Jarius Wright is expected to have a significant role versus the Bears if Percy Harvin (ankle) is inactive in Week 12.

Wright added big-play ability to the Vikings' feckless passing attack while filling in for Harvin two weeks ago, but he's going to be hard to trust as a fantasy option in a tough matchup. ESPN 1500 Twin Cities notes that Michael Jenkins "couldn't get in and out of his breaks or create separation" even before complaining of foot soreness during the bye week.

Coach Leslie Frazier was noncommittal Monday when asked whether rookie WR Jarius Wright would be active on game days after the Vikings' Week 11 bye.

Wright added some juice to Minnesota's Week 10 offense with an early-game 54-yard bomb followed by a touchdown, but he's behind Percy Harvin on the depth chart. And Harvin (ankle) is expected back following the open date. "It will always be week-to-week with some guys," Frazier said. "It probably won't be any different with Jarius. We'll take a look at him every week."

Vikings rookie WR Jarius Wright caught 3-of-5 targets for 65 yards and a touchdown, and rushed once for three yards in Sunday's Week 10 win over Detroit.

It was Wright's season debut. Although he had a bad drop in the second quarter, Wright provided an early-game spark on a 54-yard bomb reception and capped that drive with a short touchdown. Wright is a promising prospect for Minnesota as a speedy fourth-round pick out of Arkansas. The Vikings have a bye in Week 11, however, and Percy Harvin will retake his slot receiver job after that.
Sun, Nov 11, 2012 04:27:00 PM

Vikings fourth-round WR Jarius Wright is expected to be active for the first time this season in Sunday's game against the Lions.

Percy Harvin (ankle) is "very doubtful" to play this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Despite being inactive all year, Wright could be forced to start in his NFL debut, but remains unlikely to be featured on offense. The Vikings "hope" to have Harvin back at practice Friday.

Vikings declared WR Jarius Wright, S Mistral Raymond, S Andrew Sendejo, LB Marvin Mitchell, OL Mark Asper, and DE D'Aundre Reed inactive for Week 5 against the Titans.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson is the third quarterback. Raymond and Sendejo have ankle injuries. Mitchell is out with a calf injury.
