Giants TE Adrien Robinson caught his first career pass in New York's Week 4 win over the Redskins.
Robinson's 15-yard catch, and lone target, was over two years in the making. It came deep in a blowout, and after Larry Donnell and Daniel Fells combined for four touchdowns. Robinson won't come into fantasy value this season. Sep 26 - 12:48 AM

Giants TE Adrien Robinson played zero snaps in Monday's loss.

Larry Donnell was on the field for 52 of the Giants' 60 offensive plays, leaving no doubt as to who's atop the depth chart. Robinson was an upside freak when the G-Men made him the No. 127 pick of the 2012 draft, but he's barely even on the 53-man roster. His Dynasty-league future isn't bright.

Coach Tom Coughlin conceded the Giants plan to use a committee approach at tight end.

"That is not necessarily what the plan was," Coughlin said. "But the plan has evolved to that." The candidates appear to be Adrien Robinson, Larry Donnell, Daniel Fells, and Kellen Davis. Robinson is the athlete of the group, Donnell and Davis the blockers, with Fells able to do both but nothing better than average. The Giants are still sorting out the group. It's a situation to avoid in fantasy.

Adrien Robinson wasn't targeted in Friday's regular-season dress rehearsal against the Jets.

It means Robinson now has just three catches for 68 yards through four preseason games. He's squarely on the roster bubble.
Aug 22 - 11:06 PM

Giants TE Adrien Robinson spent time with the first-team offense in Thursday's practice.

Robinson was No. 4 on the Giants' most recent depth chart, and has been running with the 2s and 3s in preseason action. It's obviously encouraging he's getting some run with the 1s, but hardly an indication of a sudden climb. With unknown Larry Donnell running as the starter, the G-Men could be getting desperate, and trying to force the issue with a player GM Jerry Reese once called the "JPP of tight ends."
Aug 14 - 2:38 PM

Adrien Robinson is still listed at the bottom of the Giants' depth chart at tight end.

Robinson has run with the second- and third-team offenses in the first two preseason games. He has just one catch for nine yards and dropped a pass on Saturday night against the Steelers. Robinson knows "the time is definitely right now" to make a move, but also knows that time may be running out. Larry Donnell continues to work as the starting tight end, but has zero fantasy value.
Aug 10 - 10:57 AM

Giants TE Adrien Robinson ran with the second- and third-team offenses in Sunday night's Hall of Fame game.

Robinson has measurables, but he's so poor at football that he couldn't beat out Larry Donnell or Daniel Fells in camp. Robinson's best receiving season in college was 12-183-3 in 11 games as a senior. Once dubbed the "JPP of tight ends" by GM Jerry Reese, Robinson has little or no Dynasty value.
Aug 3 - 10:36 PM

Adrien Robinson is listed as the No. 5 tight end on the Giants' initial training camp depth chart.

Yikes. Blocker and special teamer Larry Donnell is listed at No. 1. That should tell you this isn't a serious exercise, but it's painfully obvious Robinson failed to impress this offseason. At this point, it wouldn't be the most shocking thing if he were left off the 53-man roster. The G-Men are going to go with a committee at tight end. Robinson is highly unlikely to come into any fantasy value.
Jul 24 - 1:07 PM

Giants TE Adrien Robinson has shed 10-12 pounds and checked in at 276 heading into training camp.

That means Robinson ballooned up close to 290 pounds after an injury-riddled 2013 season. Robinson will get the first crack at the tight end job for the G-Men, but this is position that is likely to be filled by a committee. Robinson will work with the first team, while Kellen Davis and Daniel Fells mix in behind him.
Jul 22 - 12:12 PM

Giants GM Jerry Reese said the tight end position will "probably" be filled by committee.

Size/speed freak Adrien Robinson disappointingly failed to distinguish himself during the offseason program. "I think the jury is still out on who the No. 1 tight end is," Reese said. Robinson, Larry Donnell, Kellen Davis and Daniel Fells will all get chances to compete for various roles at training camp. It's looking like a fantasy black hole, especially with Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham dominating targets.

Giants TE Adrien Robinson has "failed to separate from the pack" at spring practices, where he's rotated with Daniel Fells, Larry Donnell, Xavier Grimble, and Kellen Davis.

"It's fully open right now to all five guys," said TEs coach Kevin Gilbride Jr., who wants Robinson to "develop his consistency," improve his "body control," and become a better "point-of-attack blocker." Per beat writer Jordan Raanan, Robinson did "flash a bit more," but "failed to blow away the competition." GM Jerry Reese may have to explore upgrading tight end before or during camp.
Jun 19 - 10:15 PM

Giants coach Tom Coughlin has been impressed with TE Adrien Robinson in OTAs.

"I think (Robinson's) done a really good job, in terms of just learning again, not many mental errors," Coughlin said. Down to 270 pounds after ballooning to 285 last year, Robinson is attempting to lock down No. 1 duties. He's drawn consistently positive media reports since the G-Men reported for voluntary work.
Jun 5 - 7:59 PM

Giants TE Adrien Robinson admitted to weighing 285 pounds last season.

Dedication to his craft has been an issue since the Giants took a fourth-round stab on size-speed freak Robinson in the 2012 draft. But now that he's penciled in as the starting tight end, he says he's focused. Robinson is currently back down to 270 pounds, aiming to play at 265 this season, and understands the depth chart. "They laid a huge opportunity in front of me. I just have to go take it, make the most of it," he said. Robinson projects as the No. 4 option in the passing game behind Victor Cruz, Rueben Randle and Odell Beckham.

May 21 - 11:35 AM

Adrien Robinson is penciled in as the Giants' starting tight end.

Tight end was a glaring hole on the Giants' roster heading into draft weekend, but GM Jerry Reese didn't draft a single player at the position. Robinson, a 2012 fourth-rounder, should get the first snaps at tight end this summer, barring a free-agent signing. (Jermichael Finley and Dustin Keller remain unsigned.) Robinson is a size-speed freak at 6-foot-4, 264 with 4.56 wheels and a mind-boggling 11-foot-3 broad jump, but has yet to prove he can stay healthy.

Coach Tom Coughlin called his tight end position "a question mark."

Coughlin predictably isn't ready to throw all his support behind injury-prone Adrien Robinson, an intriguing size/speed freak with zero catches in three career games. They're a strong bet to use a draft pick at the position, perhaps as early as UNC's Eric Ebron at No. 12 overall. New OC Ben McAdoo comes from a Packers scheme that featured the tight end in the passing game.
