Broncos ILB Brandon Marshall has lost roughly six pounds and hopes to lose five more.
Marshall is hoping to be lighter, quicker and to "move more efficiently." Headed into his age-29 campaign, Marshall bounced back from his injury-shortened 2016 last season but was not as effective as usual. For the first time, he earned negative marks from Pro Football Focus. Marshall was still on the field for nearly every snap, registering 106 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble. Broncos ILB Brandon Marshall's $5 million base salary became fully guaranteed on Sunday.

As part of the extension Marshall signed in 2016, his 2018 base salary would become guaranteed if the Broncos kept him on the roster through the fifth day of the new league year. Marshall has eclipsed 100 tackles in three of the last four years and is one of the Broncos' leaders on defense. Todd Davis will return as Marshall's inside linebacker running mate in Denver's 3-4 scheme.

Broncos declared ILB Brandon Marshall (hamstring) inactive for Week 17 against the Raiders.

Marshall ended up missing the final four games with a hamstring issue, although he likely would have been healthy enough to play this week if the game mattered. He should be ready for the offseason program. Denver also declared A.J. Derby (concussion), DE Derek Wolfe (neck), S T.J. Ward (concussion), OT Ty Sambrailo, OG Connor McGovern, and WR Jordan Norwood inactive for Week 17. With Wolfe and Ward out, the Raiders should be able to run at will.

Broncos ILB Brandon Marshall (hamstring) is out for Week 15 against the Patriots.

Marshall has been one of the better run-stopping linebackers in football this year, so his absence is good news for LeGarrette Blount. Corey Nelson will draw another start at inside linebacker on Sunday.

Broncos ILB Brandon Marshall (hamstring) is expected to miss Week 14 against the Titans.

Broncos ILB Brandon Marshall is day to day with a hamstring injury.

Marshall appears genuinely questionable after tweaking his hamstring against the Texans. In the first season of a five-year, $34.553 million deal, Marshall has remained one of the league's best linebackers. Corey Nelson is the next man up.

Broncos signed ILB Brandon Marshall to a four-year, $32 million extension through 2020.

According to NBC Denver, the deal includes a $10 million signing bonus. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports it includes $20 million in total guarantees. A restricted free agent, Marshall had yet to sign his $2.553 million tender. A 2012 fifth-round pick of the Jaguars, Marshall has turned into one of the league's best inside linebackers after getting plucked off the scrap heap by GM John Elway. He's been a playmaking force in the middle of the defense, stuffing the stat sheet and earning elite grades from Pro Football Focus.

Broncos ILB Brandon Marshall said he is willing to play out 2016 on a one-year tender.

Marshall still has not signed his second-round tender as he pursues a long-term deal, but he said he is open to playing out the one-year deal before hitting free agency next spring. "I have no problem playing the deal out, I have no problem with doing that," Marshall said. "But I do want to be here long-term, so that's what I'm working towards." Von Miller is a more pressing concern, but the Broncos need to get Marshall locked up as well.

Broncos ILB Brandon Marshall is recovering from surgery to his right index finger.

Marshall has been limited in OTAs, but it shouldn't be an issue for much longer. A 2012 fifth-rounder who was cut by the Jaguars, Marshall has emerged as one of the league's best inside linebackers. Headed into his age-27 season, Marshall will be an unrestricted free agent next spring.

Marshall has yet to sign his second-round tender, meaning he signed a waiver to participate. There was speculation Marshall would hold out of voluntary workouts in his pursuit of a long-term extension. After Danny Trevathan bolted in free agency, locking up Marshall should be a priority for the Broncos.

9 News Denver reports restricted free agent ILB Brandon Marshall is considering holding out of the Broncos' offseason program.

Marshall has not signed his one-year, $2.553 million RFA tender, and the offseason program is considered voluntary. His absence would not be a surprise. No team activities are mandatory until the Broncos' June 15 minicamp. Marshall gained leverage when Denver lost fellow ILB Danny Trevathan to the Bears.

The Denver Post reports Broncos restricted free agent ILB Brandon Marshall is expected to draw interest from the Dolphins and Seahawks.

Marshall was extended a second-round tender, meaning any team signing him to an offer sheet would have to send a second-round pick Denver's way in order to land him. And that's if the offer sheet isn't matched by the Broncos. Marshall, 26, finished 2015 with 102 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
