Chargers OG Johnnie Troutman (broken arm) will not play this week.

Troutman originally was shooting for a Week 3 return, but he is still a few weeks away. With D.J. Fluker (ankle) sidelined, Chris Hairston should continue to start at right guard.

Chargers reserve OG Johnnie Troutman (broken arm) is targeting a Week 3 return.

Troutman had a plate and screws inserted into his arm after his August 14 injury. Troutman is the Bolts' first guard off the bench.

Chargers OG Johnnie Troutman suffered a broken arm in Thursday night's preseason opener.

Troutman was penciled in as the Chargers' starting right guard heading into camp, but the Bolts recently kicked RT D.J. Fluker inside to right guard, and inserted Joe Barksdale at right tackle. That's their best right side. Troutman was destroyed both as a run blocker and in pass protection last season.

Chargers placed RG Johnnie Troutman (knee, ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The Bolts will turn to UDFA Jeremiah Sirles as their starting right guard Sunday at Kansas City. Troutman's 2014 season ends with 15 starts. Pro Football Focus charted Troutman with atrocious grades in both run and pass blocking. Ideally, Troutman would return in a reserve role next season.

Chargers RG Johnnie Troutman exited Week 16 against the 49ers with a knee injury.

He is officially questionable to return. Jeremiah Sirles is in at right guard.

Johnnie Troutman is leading the battle to be the Chargers starting right guard.

Last year's starter Jeromey Clary, remains on PUP as he comes off hip and shoulder surgeries. It appears the Chargers are leaning toward experience with Troutman over third-round rookie Chris Watt. Troutman started nine games last season, showing well as a run-blocker.

Chargers LG Johnnie Troutman has been demoted out of the starting lineup.

Troutman drew the ire of coach Mike McCoy when he was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty late in the fourth quarter last week. So with LT King Dunlap (neck) getting back, the Chargers can start D.J. Fluker at right tackle, Jeromey Clary at right guard and Chad Rinehart at left guard. It's the first time their offensive line has been intact since Weeks 1 and 2.

Chargers GM Tom Telesco anticipates second-year OG Johnnie Troutman competing for a starting job in camp.

Troutman is an old-regime holdover who didn't play as a rookie due to multiple injuries, but San Diego has arguably the worst offensive line in the league and they can't afford to gloss over any inherited pieces. If the season began today, we suspect the Chargers' line would look like this: LT King Dunlap, LG Troutman, C Nick Hardwick, RG Chad Rinehart, and RT D.J. Fluker. That's ugly.

Chargers G Johnnie Troutman is fully recovered from the torn pectoral and arthroscopic knee surgery that wiped out his rookie year.

Troutman is now expected to "push" for a starting job. An early-round prospect who fell to the fifth due to medical concerns, Troutman is a power blocker with some short-area athleticism. San Diego has question marks at both guard positions with Tyronne Green still unsigned and Louis Vasquez gone to Denver.

Chargers OG Johnnie Troutman (pectoral surgery, PUP) is expected to begin practicing on Monday.

Troutman tore his pectoral muscle while lifting weights just days before being selected in the fifth round of April's NFL Draft. Once he steps onto the practice field, the Chargers will have three weeks to either activate Troutman or send him to season-ending injured reserve. The rookie is not expected to play this year, but he could emerge as a mauling run-blocking guard down the road.

Chargers OG Johnnie Troutman (pectoral surgery, PUP) recently underwent arthroscopic knee surgery.

The Chargers may as well have gotten the other surgery out of the way with Troutman sidelined on reserve/PUP. The scope entails only a two- to three-week recovery. Per the Union-Tribune San Diego, the fifth-round pick out of Penn State "is not expected to play this season." The organization still believes Troutman can emerge as a power-blocking starter at guard down the road.

The Union-Tribune San Diego confirms Chargers fifth-round OG Johnnie Troutman (torn pectoral) will begin the season on the reserve/PUP list, and reports the Chargers hope he "(sits) his rookie season."

It means Troutman will miss all of camp, and at least the first six games of the season. Per long-time Chargers beat writer/columnist Kevin Acee, the Bolts hope Troutman sits because "if he's playing it's due to injuries or severe performance issues on the offensive line." He shouldn't be counted on to play a snap in 2012.

Chargers fifth-round OG Johnnie Troutman (torn pectoral) is expected to open the season on the reserve/PUP list.

Troutman will likely miss all of camp and at least the first six games of the regular season after suffering the injury two weeks before the NFL draft in April. "Come October, we're going to get a guy who probably should have been drafted a lot earlier if he'd have been healthy," said OC Hal Hunter.

Chargers agreed to terms with No. 149 overall pick OG Johnnie Troutman on a four-year contract.

A three-year starter at Penn State, Troutman appeared to be on his way to competing for the starting right guard job until he underwent pectoral surgery just after the draft. The Chargers are unlikely to receive a return on their investment until the 2013 season.
