Titans S Markelle Martin (knee) practiced on Wednesday.

This is the first practice for Martin since he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in the preseason. Martin is still on PUP, and the Titans now have three weeks in which to activate him.

Titans rookie S Markelle Martin underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee Wednesday.

It was just a scope, but could still shelve Martin for the first six games of the season if he's kept on the PUP list through that point. Martin opened camp on active/PUP. Don't expect him to make an impact as a rookie.

Titans sixth-round S Markelle Martin (knee) will begin camp on the active/PUP list, and remains without a concrete return date.

Martin missed the final two weeks of OTAs with a hamstring ailment, but it's apparently his pre-Combine knee injury that's sidelining him for the beginning of camp. Per the Tennessean, he's expected to return at "some point." It's sounding like he could turn into a candidate to begin the season on the reserve/PUP.

The injury isn't serious, but it's lingering and could hurt Martin's chances of making the roster. He was drafted in the sixth round out of Oklahoma State.

Martin suffered the injury in February and didn't run a forty time before the draft, hurting his stock and allowing Tennessee to snag a projected third- or fourth-rounder in the sixth. The Titans hope Martin will be 100 percent by OTAs.

Titans selected Oklahoma State S Markelle Martin with the No. 190 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

Martin has good length and reasonable size/athleticism, but his game tape isn't pretty. He bites on play action and shows poor awareness. The Titans have themselves a project that needs to be coached up to have a role outside of special teams.
