Date:

Redskins S Jordan Bernstine (knee) will not participate in April's offseason workouts or the OTAs that begin on May 20.

Bernstine blew out the ACL, MCL, PCL and patella tendon in his right knee while covering a kickoff during Week 1. He's back to running and jumping, but still has a long way to go. It's the kind of injury that may not be 100 percent until 2014.

Redskins rookie S Jordan Bernstine has been diagnosed with a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL, and is done for the season.

A seventh-round pick, Bernstine was expected to primarily serve on special teams this season, but it's still an unneeded blow for the Redskins' wafer thin safety corps. Bernstine should be back to compete for a roster spot next summer.

Redskins rookie S Jordan Bernstine suffered a right leg injury on a kickoff return in Week 1 and did not reenter.

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter. He was donning a cast after the game. Bernstine, a seventh-round pick out of Iowa, is primarily a special teamer.

Redskins signed seventh-round DB Jordan Bernstine to a four-year contract.

Just a one-year starter at Iowa, Bernstine generated buzz late in the draft process following a tremendous Pro Day workout. He had an explosive 10-foot-7 broad jump and 41-inch vertical, in addition to running the forty-yard dash in something between 4.34 and 4.44 seconds. Bernstine projects as a possible special teams gunner in D.C. He can play both safety and cornerback.

Redskins selected Iowa S Jordan Bernstine with the No. 217 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

A hard-hitter, Bernstine wasn't invited to the Combine, but put himself on the map with a strong Pro Day, where he (unofficially) ran a 4.34 40. Only a one-year starter thanks in part to injuries, Bernstine also made an impression in the return game for the Hawkeyes. Special teams will be his best chance of making the Redskins.
