Colts waived QB Chandler Harnish.
This year's "Mr. Irrelevant" as the last player picked in the draft, Harnish had yet to appear in a game. He was more than respectable in preseason action, completing 27-of-47 passes (57.4 percent) for 406 yards (8.6 YPA) and a 91.3 passer rating. Colts rookie QB Chandler Harnish is out 2-3 weeks with a "knee issue."

It sounds like a scope. Harnish, the 2012 Mr. Irrelevant, is battling Trevor Vittatoe for third-string duties behind Andrew Luck and Drew Stanton. The Colts may keep only two quarterbacks unless Harnish or Vittatoe jumps off the page.

Colts selected Northern Illinois QB Chandler Harnish with the No. 253 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.

Meet the new "Mr. Irrelevant." A four-year starter and the MAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2011, Harnish completed 62.5 percent of his passes for 2,942 yards and a 26:5 TD-to-INT ratio. Highly athletic and smart with a strong arm, Harnish has the legit potential to emerge as Andrew Luck's long-term backup in Indy.
