Giants DE Jerome McDougle was a last-minute scratch in Week 3 due to a knee injury.
McDougle wasn't on the injury report, making his inactivity surprising. He hasn't lost his job as the Giants' nickel end, but has just one tackle so far. Sun, Sep 21, 2008 11:52:00 PM

Jerome McDougle is slated to play mostly left defensive end with the Giants.

Ideally, McDougle will come in on passing downs, allowing Justin Tuck to blitz as a "three technique" from the interior. McDougle knows the system, having played in the same one in Philadelphia. He should be watched by IDPers.

Giants signed DE Jerome McDougle to a one-year, $1 million contract.

The Eagles are kicking themselves right now. McDougle seemed to revitalize his career this preseason, recording 2.5 sacks, and doesn't have much in front of him (Dave Tollefson, Renaldo Wynn) in his bid for playing time. The 2003 No. 15 overall pick is 29 now, but has Justin Tuck-like potential in NYC.

The Giants are meeting with free agent DE Jerome McDougle on Sunday.

The Eagles could regret letting McDougle go if he lands with their division rivals. The only reason he didn't make the Birds was because of numbers.

Eagles released DE Jerome McDougle, FB Jed Collins, FB Jason Davis, WR Michael Gasperson, DT Michael Marquardt, WR Shaheer McBride, and G Scott Young.

Davis lost out when Tony Hunt moved to fullback. McDougle made a strong run at a roster spot and it'll help his chances of catching on elsewhere.

The Eagles are reportedly discussing a restructured contract with DE Jerome McDougle.

The 15th overall pick in 2003, McDougle has hardly played as a pro. He's due $950,000 in base salary this season. McDougle is extremely unlikely to make the club, so it is unclear why the Birds would be concerned with his contract.

Eagles DE Jerome McDougle will miss the season with a strained right triceps.

Rough day for the McDougle brothers. Stockar, an offensive lineman in Jacksonville, was lost for the year with an Achilles injury. Jerome had a decent chance to make the Eagles. His teammate, OL Stefan Rogers, suffered a Lisfranc injury and is also expected to miss the season, though he had no shot of making the final roster anyway.

Eagles DE Jerome McDougle suffered a strained triceps in Monday's loss. DT LaJuan Ramsey left in the second quarter with a high ankle sprain.

Both will undergo MRIs on Tuesday. McDougle is unlikely to make the Birds' roster barring several injuries in front of him. Ramsey is a good bet to stick.

Eagles DE Jerome McDougle is expected to go to camp with the team.

There was speculation that the former first-round pick would be one of Philadelphia's first offseason cuts, but his chances of making the roster in 2007 will increase if free agent Juqua Thomas signs elsewhere.

The Eagles are expected to cut DE Jerome McDougle after the season.

The No. 15 pick overall in the 2003 NFL Draft, McDougle’s career never got on its feet after he was injured early, then was shot and missed all of the 2005 season. He’s likely to be claimed by someone but doubtful to ever make the impact many once expected of him.

Eagles DE Jerome McDougle will play an expanded role Sunday.

Defensive coordinator Jim Johnson plans for McDougle to play 20-30 snaps but he may end up starting if Darren Howard is unable to play. Howard is unlikely to be 100 percent whether or not he dresses.

Jerome McDougle is expected to become a part of the Eagles' defensive end rotation with Jevon Kearse (knee) done for the season.

The former first-round pick has been inactive for the first two games of the season. Trent Cole is likely to start in place of Kearse.

Eagles DLs Jerome McDougle and Darwin Walker practiced Monday.

Both had ailing ribs. Walker may have lost his starting job to Brodrick Bunkley while McDougle may be danger of being cut.

Eagles DE Jerome McDougle may be in danger of not making the team.

He's fifth on the depth chart. McDougle, a former first-round pick, was solid in training camp workouts before suffering broken ribs.

Eagles DE Jerome McDougle will miss at least three weeks with broken ribs.

McDougle, the hard-luck Eagle who missed last season after getting shot, was competing to be the team's third defensive end. Trent Cole will perform the role now, with Juqua Thomas earning more snaps. In other Eagles news, the team lost reserve linebacker Greg Richmond to neck surgery, probably for the season.
