Vikings RT Mike Remmers (back) and C Pat Elflein (shoulder) got in limited practices Wednesday.
Both sat out last week, and Remmers has been sidelined for the last five games. It looks like both are on track to return, which is good news with LT Riley Reiff (ankle) likely to sit this week. Dec 14 - 10:09 AM

Nov 29 - 4:25 PM

Vikings declared RT Mike Remmers (concussion) inactive for Week 12 against the Lions.

Remmers will miss his third game in a row. He did get in a full practice on Wednesday, however, so he likely will return in Week 13. The Vikings will get back S Andrew Sendejo and DE Brian Robison against the Lions. QB Kyle Sloter, WR Stacy Coley, RB Mack Brown, OT Aviante Collins, DE Tashawn Bower, and DT Jaleel Johnson round out the inactive list.

Nov 10 - 2:28 PM

Oct 29 - 10:05 AM

Vikings signed RT Mike Remmers, formerly of the Panthers, to a five-year, $30 million contract.

Remmers was badly exposed on the left side last season, but he is a decent option at right tackle. That is likely where he will play in Minnesota with fellow free-agent signing Riley Reiff taking over on the left side. It is a solid start to Minnesota's complete rebuild along the offensive line.
Mar 10 - 4:12 PM

Free agent OT Mike Remmers is visiting the Vikings on Friday.

He'll visit the Texans afterward if he's unable to strike a deal with Minnesota. Remmers has experience at both right and left tackle, but is more suited for the right side. The Vikings need all the offensive line help they can get, even after signing LT Riley Reiff. Remmers, 28 next month, started all 37 games he appeared in for Carolina, including Super Bowl 50.
Mar 10 - 9:23 AM

The Lions are showing interest in free agent RT Mike Remmers.

His agent said a "handful" of teams have reached out, so apparently the Lions aren't alone in their pursuit of Remmers. The 27-year-old was among the worst tackles in football last year, grading as PFF's No. 62 pass blocker out of 76 qualifiers. The Lions may have to replace free agent Riley Reiff at right tackle.
Mar 8 - 11:42 AM

Panthers re-signed RT Mike Remmers to a one-year, $2.553 million contract.

Carolina ensured it would retain Remmers by extending him a second-round tender. While not a disaster on Cam Newton's right side last season, Remmers was exposed in the Super Bowl. The Panthers do a good enough job protecting their tackles to roll with Remmers for another season, but they should be looking for an upgrade.

Panthers extended a second-round tender to restricted free agent RT Mike Remmers.

It's worth $2.553 million. Remmers wasn't exactly effective on Cam Newton's right side last year, but he wasn't a disaster. The Panthers currently have little in the way of offensive line depth, so keeping Remmers around for less than $3 million is perfectly reasonable.

ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton expects Mike Remmers and Daryl Williams to battle for the starting right tackle job in camp.

Remmers came into the offseason as the heavy favorite to start at right tackle after playing well in seven starts including two playoff starts last season, but that plan was thrown into doubt after the Panthers drafted Williams in the fourth round. A four-year starter at Oklahoma and consensus first-team All-Big 12 selection his senior year, Williams is ready to start right now. Remmers needs a strong camp to hold onto his job.
