Vikings waived TE Chase Ford.
Ford, 25, was a 2014 contributor, catching 23 passes for 258 yards and one score across 11 games, making five spot starts. With Kyle Rudolph healthy and after the selection of rookie MyCole Pruitt, Ford has tumbled to No. 4 on the depth chart. It wouldn't be a shock to see him claimed off waivers. Nov 11 - 1:16 PM

Vikings declared TE Chase Ford, DT Sharrif Floyd, DE Justin Trattou, C Nick Easton, G Jeremiah Sirles, QB Taylor Heinicke, and CB Jabari Price inactive for Week 6 against the Lions.

Charles Johnson is active for Sunday's game, but he will operate as the Vikings' No. 4 receiver behind Mike Wallace, Stefon Diggs, and Jarius Wright.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune believes it is unlikely TE Chase Ford makes the final roster.

Ford's only chance would be if the Vikings keep four tight ends, which the Star-Tribune calls "unlikely." Ford showed well last year in a reserve role, and there are plenty of tight-end needy teams the Vikings could contact in search of a trade. If he is cut, Ford is unlikely to be without a home for long. 25-year-old Ford caught 23 passes for 258 yards and a touchdown last season.

Vikings TE Chase Ford caught 1-of-2 targets for 22 yards in Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Dolphins.

Starting in place of injured Kyle Rudolph, Ford shared tight end duties with blocker Rhett Ellison, who finished with 47 yards on two receptions. Rudolph seems unlikely to be ready for the Vikings' season finale against the Bears.

Vikings TE Chase Ford caught 1-of-2 targets for four yards in the team's Week 11 loss to Chicago.

With Kyle Rudolph back to siphon playing time, Ford's brief "streamer" window has slammed shut. The only Vikings tight end who did anything against the Bears was third-stringer Rhett Ellison, who caught a seven-yard touchdown.

Chase Ford caught five passes for 66 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 9 win over the Redskins.

Redskins S Ryan Clark blew a coverage, allowing Ford to get wide open for an easy 20-yard touchdown in the second quarter. He now has 11 catches and 129 yards with that score over the last two weeks, but is on a bye and then Kyle Rudolph (groin) could be back.

Vikings TE Chase Ford (foot) is listed as probable for Week 9.

Ford will make at least one more start with Kyle Rudolph sidelined. Rudolph is targeting a Week 11 return.

Chase Ford (foot) remained "limited" on Thursday.

Coming off a six-catch performance against the Bucs, Ford should suit up for Sunday's game against the Redskins. Ford isn't a legit TE2.

Vikings TE Chase Ford caught 6-of-6 targets for 61 yards in Sunday's Week 8 win over the Buccaneers.

Filling in for Kyle Rudolph (sports hernia), Ford has at least given the Vikings a chain-moving presence over the middle, albeit without much playmaking ability. Ford will get another start in Week 9 against the Redskins. Rudolph is not expected to return until after Minnesota's Week 10 bye.

Vikings TE Chase Ford caught four passes for 37 yards in Minnesota's Week 6 loss to Detroit.

Ford finished second on the team in receiving behind Jerick McKinnon on a day where Teddy Bridgewater absorbed eight sacks and threw three interceptions, failing to engineer a scoring drive until fourth-quarter garbage time. Ford is the Vikings' pass-catching tight end with Kyle Rudolph on the shelf.

Vikings TE Chase Ford is recovering from left-foot surgery, and will miss all of training camp.

Ford had a stress fracture. It's bad news for a bubble player, though Ford will likely spend the first six weeks of the season on the reserve/PUP list, delaying his roster decision. A 2012 undrafted free agent, Ford has 11 career catches, five of which came last Week 17.

Vikings TE Chase Ford caught five passes for 43 yards in Minnesota's Week 17 win over the Lions.

Ford only played extensively because Kyle Rudolph and John Carlson were both on the shelf. A 2012 undrafted free agent out of Miami, Ford is under contract for $495K in 2014, and will return to compete for a roster spot.
Sun, Dec 29, 2013 04:09:00 PM

Vikings signed TE Chase Ford, RB Joe Banyard, OT Kevin Murphy, TE LaMark Brown, DT Chase Baker, S Bobby Felder, WR Chris Summers, OG Tyler Holmes to reserve/future contracts.

Ford is a 2012 undrafted free agent out of Miami. Baker played college ball at Boise State. Otherwise, this is an unremarkable list of future signings for the Vikings. All of the above will try to last until 2013 training camp.
