Seahawks OT Bradley Sowell was again working on the left side in Thursday's practice.

Sowell is putting a serious move on presumptive starter Garry Gilliam, who was working on the right side Thursday. Sowell hasn't made a regular season start since 2013, when he bombed as the Cardinals' blindside protector. He played 33 total snaps last season.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says Bradley Sowell is competing for the starting job at both tackle spots.

Garry Gilliam is penciled in on the left side, with J'Marcus Webb on the right. Webb is probably more vulnerable, but we actually believe Carroll that it remains a fluid situation. The Seahawks are taking their lack of offensive line investment to remarkable new depths this season.

Newly-signed OT Bradley Sowell said the Seahawks' vacancy at left tackle appealed to him.

"With Seattle losing their left tackle, I felt like that it was going to be a good chance for me to come in here and play in this offense," Sowell said. "Once I really got to see the offense and see what they have here and kinda how they do things, I feel like I can be a really good fit here." With Russell Okung now in Denver, the Seahawks are looking at either Sowell or Garry Gilliam on the blindside. Sowell has not started a game since 2013, and Gilliam was a liability on the right side last season. Seattle has work to do all along the offensive line.

Seahawks agreed to terms with OT Bradley Sowell, formerly of the Cardinals, on a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

It's a decent chunk of change for a player who was on the field for just 33 snaps last season, and hasn't started a game since 2013. For now, Sowell is just a body for a team that appears poised to lose free agent Russell Okung, but the 27-year-old Sowell could eventually find himself in a blindside competition.

Free agent OT Bradley Sowell will visit the Seahawks.

Sowell played just 33 snaps last year while backing up Jared Veldheer at left tackle. He hasn't started a game since 2013. Sowell could be a backup plan for Seattle if Russell Okung signs elsewhere.

Bradley Sowell is getting the first crack at replacing suspended Cardinals RT Bobby Massie.

Sowell started 12 games at left tackle for Arizona in 2013 but was an absolute train wreck, grading out as Pro Football Focus' worst tackle. He didn't play a single snap last season. Sowell appears to have the early leg up on first-round rookie D.J. Humphries to fill in for Massie the first four weeks of the season.

Cardinals re-signed OT Bradley Sowell to a one-year contract.

Sowell was slated to be a restricted free agent. A fourth-year undrafted free agent, Sowell appeared in all 16 games last season, but played zero snaps on offense. He'll fight for one of the Cardinals' final roster spots in camp.

Bradley Sowell and Paul Fanaika have been working with the first-team offense at right tackle and right guard, respectively, in early offseason workouts.

Sowell's competition will be Bobby Massie, while Fanaika will battle Earl Watford this summer. Sowell pitched in at left tackle last season but was PFF's worst-rated tackle. Jared Veldheer was signed as a free agent to man the left side. Fanaika started all 16 games but was blown up both as a run and pass blocker.

Coach Bruce Arians doesn't see left tackle as the Cardinals' "most glaring need."

Well, we do. And so does just about everyone else. "Bradley (Sowell) played OK, and he’s going to get better with another year of strength and conditioning," Arians said. "It’s not the most glaring need." Sowell appeared in 12 games at left tackle for the Cardinals and graded out as Pro Football Focus' worst tackle in 2013. Arizona is going to address the position either via free agency or the draft. Free agent Branden Albert has already been linked to the Cardinals.

Bradley Sowell is expected to step in as the Cardinals' new left tackle.

A 2012 undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss, Sowell (6'7/320) has bounced around practice squads for much of the last two years. He does know coach Bruce Arians as they were in Indy together last season. Sowell is certainly no lock to perform any better than Levi Brown, though it would be difficult to be worse.

Cardinals claimed OT Bradley Sowell off waivers from the Colts.

Sowell is a second-year undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss. The Colts signed him off the Buccaneers' practice squad in September of last season. New Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is familiar with Sowell from their time in Indy.

Colts signed OT Bradley Sowell off the Bucs practice squad.

Sowell, 6'7/320, is an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss. He's on for depth after RT Winston Justice sustained a Week 1 concussion.
