The Giants worked out free agent RB Justin Fargas on Tuesday.
The Giants don't need to add a running back, so they were likely just kicking the tires on Fargas' troublesome knee. The Giants also worked out TE Derek Schouman, OG Donald Thomas, and DB Ross Weaver. Tue, Oct 12, 2010 08:21:00 PM

The Colts worked out free agent RBs Justin Fargas and Ryan Moats on Tuesday.

Neither was signed. Joseph Addai landed on the Week 3 injury report with a knee issue, but started against Denver and received 15 touches, so he appears plenty healthy. The Colts are likely updating their emergency lists.

In addition to Derrick Ward, the Texans tried out free agent RB Justin Fargas on Friday.

Their options aren't good, but the Texans are intent on adding a veteran back before next week with Jeremiah Johnson and Steve Slaton both sidelined by bad toes. Arian Foster's workload will not be affected by an addition.

Broncos released RB Justin Fargas.

Fargas, 30, managed just 17 yards on 10 preseason carries, exhibiting little to no burst. Lance Ball was clearly the better player, and will hang around as a third-stringer. Bruce Hall is also being kept over Fargas.

Justin Fargas totaled just 13 yards on nine carries against the Lions in Saturday's exhibition game.

He's far from a lock to make the final roster. The 30-year-old was outplayed by fringe players Bruce Hall (5 rushes, 43 yards) and Lance Ball (5 rushes, 17 yards, 1 TD) while working mostly with the second team.

The Denver Post's Jeff Legwold does not believe that Justin Fargas and LenDale White were signed merely as camp bodies.

Legwold isn't ready to say that the veteran castoffs will contribute either, noting that the Broncos want to see "how much is left in the tank" for both players. There does seem to be concern about Correll Buckhalter's ability to shoulder the load as Knowshon Moreno's primary backup. Fargas may only be active in Week 1 if Buckhalter is still bothered by his neck/back injury.

Broncos signed RB Justin Fargas, formerly of the Raiders.

Fargas hasn't topped 3.9 yards per carry since 2007, and was unable to find a taker on the free agent market until now due to an inability to pass physicals. The 30-year-old would be lucky to make the Broncos' 53-man roster.

According to the Twitter account of Raiders RB Michael Bush, free agent Justin Fargas has agreed to sign with the Broncos.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Fargas is en route to Denver and scheduled for a Tuesday night physical. The Broncos need warm bodies at tailback with Knowshon Moreno, Correll Buckhalter, and LenDale White all hurt. Fargas will probably be no more than preseason fodder for the Broncos.

The UFL's Omaha Nighthawks have announced the signing of numerous former NFL players, including former Raiders RB Justin Fargas.

The Nighthawks' roster almost looks similar to how a legit NFL expansion team would. Some of the most notable names: Ahman Green, Charles Grant, Andrew Walter, Fred Smoot, Patrick Ramsey (who'll be leaving to sign with the Saints shortly), Chike Okeafor, Robert Ferguson, Ronald Curry, Chris Brown, Shawn Andrews, Craphonso Thorpe, Wendell Bryant, and Devard Darling.

Free agent Justin Fargas visited with the Saints on Tuesday, a source tells WWL TV in New Orleans.

Fargas would be an older clone of restricted free agent Mike Bell, who the Eagles signed to an offer sheet on Tuesday. The visit is a sign that the Saints don't think Lynell Hamilton can fill the bruising, clock chewing role. Clearly, they also don't plan to match Bell's offer from Philadelphia.

The Browns have reportedly opted against signing free agent Justin Fargas.

The Eagles are also believed to have dropped out of the mix. Fargas was reported to have failed his physical upon his release from the Raiders, so it's possible that he's not checking out well during medical examinations.

Free agent Justin Fargas disputes a report that he didn't pass his physical with the Raiders.'s Adam Caplan, a reliable source, had the initial report. It should be pointed out, though, that the Oakland media has yet to confirm the failed physical. "I definitely have a lot of football left in me," Fargas said of his health this week.

Free agent RB Justin Fargas will meet with the Eagles on Friday.

Fargas just left the Browns' complex without a contract. The 30-year-old would give the Eagles a physical veteran presence to complement LeSean McCoy. His signing would be a best-case scenario for McCoy owners.

The Browns are currently hosting free agent Justin Fargas.

Settling on Fargas as a backfield complement might be a best-case scenario for Jerome Harrison, who wouldn't have trouble outproducing the injury-prone 30-year-old. Fargas might also end up "blocking" James Davis, who quite possibly would present the greatest threat to Harrison's 2010 workload.

49ers beat reporter Matt Maiocco doesn't expect the team to be a big player in the bidding for free agent Justin Fargas.

Fargas is slated to visit Kansas City and San Francisco this week. With the 49ers, the 30-year-old would offer mediocre change-of-pace skills and no special teams ability. Fargas likely wouldn't be an upgrade over Glen Coffee.
