Chip Kelly said G.J. Kinne has informed the team he no longer wants to play quarterback.

Kinne has been the Eagles' practice squad QB for the last two seasons. "Kinne wants to try to make the team as a special teams player, maybe a receiver or running back, kind of a multi‑purpose player on the offensive side of the ball," Kelly said. Tim Tebow has taken Kinne's spot as the No. 4 QB behind Sam Bradford (ACL), Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley.

Kinne never had a realistic shot at a roster spot after Chip Kelly drafted Matt Barkley. A 2012 undrafted free agent, Kinne's best-case scenario would be latching onto someone's practice squad, but it's unlikely.

Eagles signed QB G.J. Kinne.

Kinne originally attended Texas, but he transferred to Tulsa shortly after and threw for 9,472 yards and 81 scores. He signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent last year but was cut in June. Kinne is likely just a camp arm.
