Vikings re-signed G/T Mike Harris to a one-year, $1.9 million contract.

The deal is believed to be worth at least $3 million with incentives for more. Harris was getting some interest from the Giants, but he will return to Minnesota to try to build on his solid 2015 before hitting the open market again next offseason. He should be the front-runner for the right guard spot.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Giants are interested in free agent G/T Mike Harris.

The Vikings appear to be lowballing Harris, while the Giants have needs all along their offensive line. Harris has experience on the blindside, but converted to guard last season and was effective. Harris could prove to be a diamond in the free agent rough.
Mar 7 - 4:41 PM

The Vikings have offered free agent RG Mike Harris a two-year, $3.5 million deal.

Especially in this cap-rich offseason, it's a borderline-insulting offer for a player coming off a breakout season. 27-year-old Harris can play both guard and tackle, and finished 2015 as PFF's No. 22 overall guard amongst 82 qualifiers, excelling as both a pass and run blocker and starting all 16 games. On the off chance Harris can't do better on the open market, the Vikings' proposal should be viewed as a last-ditch fallback by his agent.

Free agent RG Mike Harris hopes to re-sign with the Vikings.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the Vikings are expected to offer a two-year deal worth $5 million. An ex-tackle with blindside experience, Harris was reasonably effective in his conversion to guard last season. He turned 27 in December.
Mar 3 - 2:13 PM

Mike Harris will start the Vikings' second preseason game at right guard.

It is the second straight start for Harris, who grabbed hold of the right guard spot early in camp and has not let go. Barring injury, Harris will be flanked by RT Phil Loadholt and C John Sullivan when the season begins. LT Matt Kalil and LG Brandon Fusco will hold down the left side of the offensive line.

Vikings OC Norv Turner said that Mike Harris has made a "surprisingly good" transition to right guard.

Harris is the favorite to start at right guard after opening training camp with the starters. He’ll face competition from rookie Tyrus Thompson, Joe Berger, and David Yankey. Fourth-round pick T.J. Clemmings has moved back to tackle.

Mike Harris opened training camp as the Vikings' starting right guard.

Coach Mike Zimmer said Joe Berger, Tyrus Thompson, and David Yankey are also in the mix. Harris struggled in five spot starts at right tackle late last year. Right guard is a potential sore spot on Minnesota's line, though the front five is locked in at the other four spots.

Vikings re-signed restricted free agent OT Mike Harris to a one-year, $1.542 million contract.

It's the original-pick tender amount for Harris, who started five games for Minnesota last season. He'll compete for swing-tackle duties in camp and may even make a push for the left-guard job vacated by Charlie Johnson.

Vikings claimed OT Mike Harris off waivers from the Chargers.

Although a third-year undrafted free agent, Harris has starting experience at both tackle positions. He'll be a piece of versatile, albeit low-end, depth for the Vikings' line.

Chargers waived/released OT Mike Harris, LB Victor Aiyewa, DT Chas Alecxih, WR Torrence Allen, S Alden Darby, CB Greg Ducre, WR Javontee Herndon, LB Thomas Keiser, LB Cordarro Law, S Adrian Phillips, OT Jeremiah Sirles, LB Colton Underwood, OG Craig Watts, OT Kenny Wiggins and C Khalil Wilkes.

Willie Smith has earned swing-tackle duties. A 2012 undrafted free agent, Harris was thrust into blindside duties as a rookie after Jared Gaither fell apart, but was limited to 194 snaps a season ago. He has 12 games of starting experience, which should earn him a second chance soon enough.

Chargers placed OT Mike Harris on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season.

Harris started each of the last three games, one at right tackle and two at left tackle. After giving up ten sacks as a rookie, Harris only gave up one sack in 2013. The Bolts signed OT Mike Remmers off Tampa Bay's practice squad to take Harris' roster spot. San Diego has precious little depth up front.

The Chargers have moved second-year OT Mike Harris to backup right tackle after he struggled mightily at left tackle as a rookie.

Harris "occasionally" practiced on the left side at OTAs, but primarily worked as RT D.J. Fluker's backup. Harris made nine starts as a 2012 UDFA, allowing ten sacks and grading out 80th-of-80 in Pro Football Focus' offensive tackle ratings. Only Jonathan Martin (47) and Jermon Bushrod (46) allowed more than Harris' 44 QB hurries -- and Martin and Bushrod both started all 16 games.

Chargers declared LT Mike Harris (ankle), LG Tyronne Green (hamstring) and RT Jeromey Clary (knee) inactive for Sunday's Week 14 game against the Steelers.

Kevin Haslam will start at left tackle and Reggie Wells will start at right tackle. It's a nightmare scenario for Philip Rivers and the entire Chargers' offense. Expect Antonio Gates to be asked to stay in and block plenty. The rest of the Chargers' inactives: WR Eddie Royal, LB Donald Butler, DL Antonio Garay and TE Ladarius Green.

Chargers LT Mike Harris suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 13.

The Chargers also lost LG Tyronne Green (hamstring) and RT Jeromey Clary (left knee) against the Bengals, and none of the three are expected to play in Week 14 against the Steelers. San Diego is down to one healthy offensive tackle on its roster -- Kevin Haslam -- and may have to start a street free agent versus Pittsburgh. Rex Hadnot will take Green's place at left guard.
