Raiders re-signed OLB Sam Williams.

Raiders re-signed LB Sam Williams to a one-year, $700,000 contract.

Another move with Al Davis' fingerprints all over it. Williams, a former third-round choice, was originally picked to play rush linebacker in Oakland's then 3-4. He's rarely been healthy since, and lost his job on the strong side to Robert Thomas in 2007. The Raiders aren't going overboard with Williams' contract, but they probably should've given up here sometime ago.

Wolverine consists of three safeties and two linebackers behind the defensive line. Donovin Darius, Stu Schweigert, and Michael Huff will be the safeties, with linebackers Thomas Howard and Kirk Morrison staying on the field. Williams could lose his job during the season to Robert Thomas.
